1. Disagree wholeheartedly, can possibly see what you''d be disappointed with Martin about (though noone slagged him off near us as we were stood right by his mum) but what particularly did you think Wes did wrong?
2.

I was in Dereham with one. [:D] Just couldnt be bothered... [:)]
Snap. Also I was concentrating on complimenting Ward on his great performance for the first 15 minutes of the second half.. til i realised it wasn''t Ward. Ii did think he looked a bit short [:)]
Who was the player you complimented if it was not Ward?
Francomb, we were down the other end to the city defence second half and though I did think he looked a bit short, he handled everything so well that I thought it was him.
3. We need a striker. Really it is so plainly obvious. I admire the optimism of those of you that disagree. Korey can cover RB, he played there a bit for the youth team no? Also I''m sure Francomb could cope there too if need be.We have no Plan B, in Cody we have a plan C at best in this league. I can''t believe Lambert would be foolish enough to think we do''nt need another one in. And for those of you that think we only need Holt and Martin, remember that our dear leader looked to get another one in last year with Stephen Elliot when we were banging goals in for fun and they were both fit.One of them MIGHT get injured, then we''d be screwed. Holt WILL get suspended, and Martin/McDonald isn''t a top half championship partnership, end of story.
4. We can''t rely on Cody as Plan B. Cody would be a great Plan C. We seriously need another striker, I sincerely hope there is an additional guy on that plane tomorrow. Oli Johnson would be my plan J. I think I''d give Korey and maybe even Askou a crack ahead of him if we needed to throw a striker on this season.

6.
Thanks for the concise reports guys, any ratings?[Y]
Ah I hadn''t seen your request before I started that opus wiz, I hope you find it satisfactorily detailed.
7. Ruddy - 8 Had one freekick to deal with, showed excellent hands and lots of talking, a LOT of talkingDrury - 8 Looked neat and tidy without doing anything wrong, went forward with purpose a few timesAskou - 6 Gave the ball away twice and was a little out of position to allow a break to materialise which another player had to drop back and sort outNelson - 7 He won everything in the air, and as last season was great at defending the long ball, slow & weak on the floor, threat in the opposition box,  distribution utterly abysmalMartin - 5 Poor performance from him, had lots of space on the right hand side to push forward which he didn''t use enough, perpetually failed to beat his man to put a ball in the box Fox - 7 Looked very bright, similar movement to hoolahan, every pass accurate and quick to get the ball moving, combined with Hoolahan creatively a couple of timesCrofts - 8 Looks like his fitness is a week ahead of the rest of the squad, was pressing and looking to close every one of their players down continously, combative and attackingLappin - 6 Didn''t really get in the game too often but looked calm and assured on the ball when he did, put a couple of poor corners in and a couple of decent onesHoolahan - 8 A typical hoolahan performance, wanted the ball all the time, the brightest moments came when he was involved and gave the ball away once for trying one too many tricksMartin - 7 Didn''t get great deal of service but had two opportunities he really should have done better with, looked in good shape though and chest control is as good as any in the squadHolt - 8 Had one tipped onto the bar from his best chance that Martin set him up for, could have done better with a header he put onto the bar, but great tenactiy for Nelson''s goalSteer - 8 Had practically nothing to do. I think he might have taken a goal kick, and Francomb headed the ball back to him once, um I think that was it.K.Smith - 7 S.Smith - 4 Very poor first outing in a city shirt defensively, was eager to get forward which was positive, but his bread and butter should be defending and the same player Drury kept in his pocket did him twice, one of which a nutmeg. Whitbread - 5 Had similar problems to Smith in that the no.11 player that got no change out of Nelson for the whole first half beat Whitbread in the air a few times and really made life difficult for him, Francomb had to come to his rescue on more than one occasion. Francomb - 8 Looked like the senior defender in the second half, assured performance, and like Dawkin below, didn''t look too far below the standard of anyone else we saw todayHughes - 7 One of Hughes'' better performances in my humble opionion, full of running, made some good tackles though he doesn''t half love to pass the ball baskwards insetad of looking to get attacks going.McNamee - 7 Was McNamee, seems as if he''s a bit of a marmite player. Lots of skills and tricks but too often only getting a corner because he made the wrong choice, if Lmabert can coach the wastefullness out of him he''s be a real player.Surman - 8 Every touch was classy, best passer on the pitch in this game at least by a mile, couple of great throughballs which Johnson and then McDonald should have done more with, made a clever onside run in behind the defence which McNamee poorly chose not to put the ball over the top for and play back to S.Smith instead. Looks a cracker.Johnson - 4 Such a disappointing performance. Did his usual bull in a china shop style of running and bobbling the ball from shin to shin, but only once did a turn come off and enable im to put McDonald in for a shot and then his only opportunity he hesitated too long and was smothered by a defender. A chance to get easy goals and some confidence missed.McDonald - 7 Took his goals very well indeed, but missed 2 much easier tap-ins, one of which a one on one, but his running and particularly the directions he was running in were excellent and made sure he got into the game, also hesitated too much before shooting up until the goal.Dawkin - 8 Stole the show second half, was equally happy running in and taking players on from the right and then the left, really great that he looks like he might be very capable of pushing for a first team bench spot, maybe will be sent out on loan to get games, was very impressive, fast, and very direct style of play, always provided an end product(Gordon didn''t touch the ball I don''t believe)
8. Dereham  2   -   8   NorwichAnd I predict either this game will feature a hat-trick for Surman to prompt predictions on these page of us winning the league at a canter, OR the second Dereham goal will prompt questions to be asked on these pages about our new shot stopper.
9. This would be truly awful news. Unless he goes on to be rubbish for them. Then it would be even funnier than if they sign a different keeper who goes onto throw a load into his own goal..
10.
Surman is prem quality, as is Ward, at a push i''d say C.Martin, Hoolahan,.. Ruddy would do well at mid-prem with the right support and team.. other than that i think we have a strong championship side. I for one am happy with that.
I''m not sure that C.Martin could claim to be prem class yet, by the end of September we might have a better idea of that, depending on whether a number 10 is going to come in and usurp him from his starting place.
11.
I personally think McNamee is over rated by everyone, but I won''t call you an idiot just for suggesting. [y]Not too sure we''ve got many, considering they''ve just come up from League 1. Surman has given it ago.. Did he fail, or was he just not given the chance, considering Matt Jarvis had a great season... But I personally think we have a talented Championship squad, and that''s what we need right now. [:)]
If anyone mildly ''rates'' macnamee, then I think that would make him overrated. Couldn''t agree more Adam, we have a talented Championship squad, and of the players I''ve seen, only Ward have I ever watched for 90 minutes and thought he looked truly like he could cut it in the lower Prem (still my favourite signing of the summer).
12.
Off to watch Gillingham at Braintree Town tonight so will see if Mr Jackson is in the squad and if not will try and find out from Hessentaler why [;)]
If you can''t get an answer of AH tonight I''ll just ask PL tomorrow at Dare-rem if there''s no news today. I''m sure between us we''ll wrap this situation up for everyone.
13. "Are you going to out your hand in your pocket then.."You shouldn''t be making such bold claims about the persuasion of Flashheart''s hands.
14. As I said, I didn''t come running to start a rumour based on it not seeming likely for the reasons I said. Maybe he fancies a nice daily commute from our station.
15. He''s also just bought a house in the Norwich area, that is 100% fact. But I didn''t think anything of it rumour wise as Lambert let him go at Col U, he''s left sided, which we''ve got the lad from Wolves for and ANOTHER midfielder. But he''s bought a house round here for sure. Thought might be for a family member, who knows.
16.
I think the Jackson deal will happen v.soon...i would also like to see a RB in
I agree that a RB would calm my nerves. I''m an on-the-fencer re: both Martins cutting it in the championship. I think we will be VERY lucky if both make the step up, and thus I would like cover for at least one of them. Though if as PL has suggested we''re only getting one more in, then I hope it''s up top to challenge those two, we need a plan b.
17. [:D]
Can you speak up please?
18. Nelson was poor for most of last season, was our third best central defender. The number of times Doherty, Martin or Forster had to come to his rescue. His lack of pace is criminal and will be badly shown up at this level. As soon as he''s turned facing his own goal his usefulness in defending that attack is finished. He also showed the most ineptitude when it came to playing football from the back last year, with countless hoofs coming flying into the stands, and that''s the way that PL wants to play he has said countless times in the pre-season interviews, and also has been the key traits of his new players he''s praised (apart from Ruddy obviously [:)]I will be truly amazed if it''s anything other than Whitbread/Ward.
19. Yeh I noticed that, along with our new left sider saying we''re going to try and win the league, clearly going to be like last year with PL only interesting in winning the competition.
20. Collected our tickets today... from round the back of  Taverham garden centre, as advised by the club on the phone. One of the strangest ways i''ve ever got hold of tickets for a game that''s for sure.
21. And he looks TIRED. But not a bit on the chubby side like Ruddy[:)]
22. Thanks for that, your assumption of ignorance is misplaced, but I accept it is the pink-un way that if you don''t agree or the point made wasn''t explained in a way that was clear to another poster, you''re asterisk-sworn at and assumed stupid. I am very aware of the fact that £11 per month is a lot of money to a lot of people, as my previous post pointed out, I just wish that everyone was the same as me in cutting out every single other possible outlay of expenditure before ncfc. I have very close friends who are struggling to get a job at the moment despite being extremely employable. And I feel for you about your gas bill, was it because there were lots of estimated readings and then they suddenly came and read the meter? Because you could threaten to write to http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ they were formerly Energy Watch, and demand really favourable repayment terms in this case, as it''s not solely your fault that the meter wasn''t read. You can normally get a payment plan set up over 24 months for that type of circumstances. Or maybe you just used a lot of gas.Sorry if I offended anyone by coming across as if I have loadsamoney. I don''t, and if despite the fact you budgeted to not have that money over the next year, you are now in a situation where you need to recoup it, then it was a sensible decision to take the money back and you should not be ''ashamed'' to not think like a yellowandgreen tinted sunglasses numpty like me.
23. I will do mate, I don''t fit the character type for this board. I know everyone is entitled to do what they want with their money, I just wish that all our season ticket holders were like me in being blindly optimistic when it comes to spending a disproportionate amount of my disposable income on following norwich. I know that makes me an idiot in many people''s eyes, that''s fine. I don''t have a lot of money, but i''ll give whatever I can whenever I can to the football club because it''s simply more important to me than anything else. And I allow that to take presidence over sound rational financial decisions. Whichi isn''t the Pink-Un board''s way I know. Sorry to have troubled you.
24. I haven''t posted on here for months but I am compelled to note my disgrace. For the sake of £11 a month between August and February off your direct debit payments we''re £717,603 worse off.I''m disgusted with you. I hope the little point you feel you''ve proved was worth it.I''ve never been so ashamed of fellow "supporters". I feel sick right now.Yes, we can be cynical about the money going straight into the playing budget. Yes we can all feel aggrieved about the situation at the football club. I wish we had a different board/owner in place the same way that I wish we were playing in a different league and I wish that we had Torres up front and Vidic at centre back.We are where we are, and your £11 a month is going to do nothing to help anyone.
