  1. 93Vintage, got to disagree that the club aren''t buying young talent from the lower leagues. We bought Conor McGrandles and Louis Thompson last season.
  2. Bemused by posters comparing and justifying the £8m we could potentially be paying for a 29-year-old with two 22-year-olds and a 24-year-old who''s scored more goals this season than Naismith in a considerably worse team. Fair enough if we sign him, Neil clearly feels he''d add something to the squad, but that feels like too much money.
  3. Would say the game has evolved, TJ, so that forwards now do have to close down and tackle where possible. It''s what makes Leicester - and Liverpool before them - so effective as they win the ball back high up the pitch. And, Morty, he''s has cruciate issues on both knees.
  4. TJ, his last cruciate was 2011 and the first one was 2008, so it''s been a while, although he''s picked up other niggles along the way - an achilles tendon flaring up recently, for example. Another stat that may be of interest concerning our possible new No.10, pass completion: Naismith in the PL: 73% Hoolahan in the PL: 83% And in case anyone wonders whether Naismith ''puts himself about more'', tackles per PL game: Naismith: 1.12 Hoolahan: 1.2
  5. Depends what stats you''re looking at, Branston. If you''re on about goal-scoring, then definitely. Goals for each since Naismith moved to Everton (2012/13 season): Naismith: 25 Hoolahan: 12 However, a mere 4 assists in his four-year career at Everton doesn''t look too great against Hoolahan''s 27 assists in his previous five seasons with Norwich, including six this year. Wes, by the way, has now provided more assists for Norwich City than any other player in Premier League history.
  6. Just found it quite a startling stat considering their differing positions and Jerome''s success with us in the Championship, so wanted to double-check.
  7. Not sure where you''ve got that ''2015 goals per game ratio'' stat from, Morty, but it''s incorrect going by Soccerbase. Jerome, 2015: Matches: 43 Goals: 12 =0.279 gpg Naismith, 2015: Matches: 42 Goals: 9 =0.214 gpg
  8. Wiki is indeed incorrect, although neither have much to boast about. Gayle (25 yrs old) has scored 12 goals in 48 Premier League appearances for Palace, while Hooper (27 yrs old) has struck five times in 32 Premier League appearances for Norwich.
  9. But then Afobe ''may be a good buy, because he may be able to fit straight in'' as well., LDC And your point about spending money not always equalling success is true of any transfer. Just because we''ve been stung once doesn''t mean we shouldn''t spend a large amount on another player - if that logic was true then there would be no transfers in the Premier League.
  10. Surely when Neil and his team analyse and assess which players to bring in they are accounting for all of the issues you''ve highlighted LDC? You''d like to think he''s not going to spend large amounts of money on players who he believes may struggle to play the system we use, not fit in with Neil''s ethos or Norfolk. I''d also argue a £10m player should definitely walk into our team; after all, what''s the point in buying someone who isn''t improving the starting XI, and it''s not as if we have a team full of £10m+ players.
  11. I imagine Neil will be miffed about how we conceded yesterday, especially considering we''ve let the most goals in from crosses/set pieces this season in the League. In terms of the goal, Martin didn''t have a chance of beating Rooney to the header, but this, you could contest, is because he allowed Rooney to drift into space and either a. didn''t follow him or b. doesn''t inform Bassong loud enough for him to mark Rooney. Bennett maybe should have then got a meaningful tackle/block in on Martial; although just before the cross comes in he seems to look away at Rudd, which in that split-second wrong-foots him. Martial''s touch and quick feet were outrageous, too. Just a brilliant moment by an impressive young footballer.
  12. While there may be genuine interest, Kone''s been linked with other Premier League clubs over the past two weeks - repeatedly Newcastle and Sunderland - who are also said to be close to a deal for him.
  13. Sorry, not quite sure who you''re comparing to who there, Unique. Howson''s scored one and created 15 chances, while Tettey''s scored none and create one chance (using Squawka). I''m guessing you mean Kante has the same number of goals and one more chance than Howson. In relation to our scouting network, if you''ve not read them already, these two articles show how thorough Leicester are: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/nov/23/leicester-city-claudio-ranieri-jamie-vardy-summit http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3220155/Jamie-Vardy-Riyad-Mahrez-Shinji-Okazaki-Leicester-City-Premier-League-s-BARGAIN-HUNTERS.html
  14. Apologies, Unique, think I missed the "extra" before the £2.5m.
  15. Unique, Kante cost over £5million. He''s also a defensive midfielder, so you might want to compare him Tettey. I''ll agree with you about their scouting setup compared to ours, though. An issue that must be rectified.
  16. Samwam27, Leicester are the only team that you can really argue are playing 442, and even then it''s more 4411. Watford use a 4231, while Everton deployed a fluid 4231/433 formation at the weekend with Kone on the left.
  17. Not really sure how anyone can objectively say what has or hasn''t gone on between Ruddy and the other individual unless they were there. The video made public is quite short, and only shows a pissed off Ruddy - everything else is guesswork. With the club not commenting, if there''s to be any further info/explanation, it''s down to EDP reporters to find those involved, otherwise its all simply conjecture.
  18. Apologies for my tardiness of late. I''d like to go with home win for PAOK v Panionios please. And for the Norwich bet, both teams to score. Good luck to all the PUPs.
  19. Without trying to be all dreary about the academy, surely its principle role is to produce players that can regularly play first-team football for Norwich. Now while a comprehensive win against Southampton is great, especially following up the impressive victory over Man Utd recently, we''ve not brought someone through in a long time.
  20. Out of interest, LDC, what makes you say Betis have "good strikers"?
  21. Leicester and Southampton have owners who combined are worth more than 1000x Delia Smith. We are bottom of the Premier League rich list table on about £20m, while they occupy 7th and 8th with roughly £2.5b and £1.8m, I believe.
  22. Following on from what Jacko wrote, Ayew was also given a huge multi-million pound signing-on fee.
  23. Go for upper or in the front half of the lower tier. Enjoy the game.
  24. Best of luck all. This week I''m backing the FC Koln v Hannover 96 HOME win. And for Norwich, both teams to score. Also, NN, many thanks for the Norwich pick in Nov, however, I''m away on the weekend of the 7th. Would I be able to move it please?
