  6. [quote user="jas the barclay king"]Well before my Time but what a player Justin was! Brian Clough failed him so badly in his hour of need, just what could Justin have become on the pitch if he had been backed off it. Died in May 1998, the last game at Elm Park, city won 1-0 and the fans went home after a nothing game... Justin Fashanu has never been remembered by the club since his death, no minutes silence, nothing in the programme. that in itself is a tragedy.... Norwich accepted Justin for what he was, a talented young footballer with the world at his feet. once he came out as being Gay when at Forest it became a witch hunt, Brian Clough was one of the most respected managers in the game and if he had spoken up in favour Justin maybe he''d still be alive today.... R I P Justin Fashanu. England might never known what they were missed at the 1982 and 86 world cups. [/quote]   Cough failed him badly!!!  What about us?  Why do you think we sold him in the first place?  Brian Clough may not have known about his ''problems'' but John Bond and Arthur South certainly did.
  7. [quote user="Mister Chops"]I couldn''t find this anywhere on the Sky Sports website. [/quote] Oh dear
  8. [quote user="ncfc4life"]While I was prepared to be patient with him at the start of the season im really starting to lose patience with him and his injuries. You wonder whether hes a bit of a Kieron Dyer or Darren Anderton who is just constantly injured. Its hard to see him making any sort of an impact this season as he is probably a million miles away from match fitness and with Barnett and Ward playing well together it will be difficult for him to break into the side. If maybe he could get fit by January we could send him out on loan to a league one club for the remainder of the season where maybe he could get some games under his belt and maybe he could come good next season. [/quote]   Darren Anderton played 500 games!
  9. [quote user="Northluck C."]You need to copy the direct link to the image (which will end in .jpg or similar) and paste it between img tags. [.img]*link here*[/.img] ^ Then remove the dots. [/quote]   Thank you!
  10. [quote user="Canary_on_the Trent"]Certainly worth having a look at, Dundee are in real trouble financially and would probably sell for a few peanuts. His record is brilliant considering he only turned 20 at the start of this season.[/quote] or maybe a lifetime supply of battered Mars bars
  11. Can anyone tell me how to load a photo directly onto a post (as opposed to leaving a link to a photo site)? Thanks
  12. Don''t agree with Russell Martin MOM.  Thought he wasted loads of opportunities to cross in the first half.  He got it right in the second half when it counted though. And by the way Hucks - if you scored 2 goals in an away game and we won 2-1 wouldn''t you expect to be MOM!!! Sitting behind the goal it didn''t look like a Coventry penalty to me. I thought Platt tripped over his own feet but I could be wrong.  None of their players seemed to make much of a fuss about it.
  13. Linked again in Scottish press today http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/2058530 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCOqRmmFr0U
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZgFtTLY6qk Just seen this for the first time.  I think it is the last time that United lost an FA Cup tie at home to a team from a lower division.  They went on to win the European Cup 4 months later. Was anyone at the game?  Looks like a lot of our fans made the trip.
  15. Harley is apparently vey similar to Hoolahan.  I think there were rumours of him signing for us at this time last year.  May be worth looking out for him on FLS tonight as Exeter scored 5 against Sheff Wed
  16. It''s true about the crossing.  Russell Martin was probably the worst culprit - he wasted numerous chances to deliver a good cross, but having said that it may have been him that crossed for the first goal.
  17. Listened to Radio Coventry on the way home.  I have never heard such rubbish in my life!  All the callers thought the sending off was wrong, despite the fact that Boothroyd agreed the decision in his interview.  they all thought they should have had a penalty when Platt fell over his own feet in the first half, and the commentator blamed the Norwich players for the sending off, saying that our players crowded the referee.  He ignored the fact that their goalkeeper ran 40 yeards to join in the argument, and never mentioned the fact that we totally dominated the game before and after the sending off. I thought they should have gone down to 9 men for the foul on Macnamee near the end - that wasn''t mentioned either. Extrraordinary bias!  Nothing like Radio Norfolk when people phone up to complain that we won again. If you weren''t at the game, it''s worth watching later for our first goal - a brilliant length of the pitch move. Another great away performance. Rumour at the game was that Hoolahan is going in January and will be replaced by Harley from Exeter.  We are also interested in Ched Evans and a young Dundee/Dundee Utd centre forward.
  18. Forthcoming fixtures.- http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/i/ipswich_town/fixtures/default.stm Bottom 3 by the end of January (and out of both cups)
  19. Dean Coney''s Arse - But Holt got booked so out of thr Pompey match   Sausage fingers strikes again!
  20. Our fixtures in the 2nd half of the season (give or take a couple of games) are the top half of the Division at home and the bottom half away. I know it''s tempting fate, but with the games we have remaining, the 6 points we''re behind QPR doesn''t look quite such a big gap
  21. Have you considered concentrating on supporting your team? I very much doubt that Paul Lambert will be impressed with us hounding an opposing manager.
  22. 23. [quote user="vos"]In yesterdays EDP under the heading, would you believe, Canaries Latest, Chris Lakey gives four columns devoted to Kevin Drinkell''s displeasure with Robert Chase. This is all about a possible transfer to Spurs 25 years ago !!!! Obviously the usual wheeler dealing was taking place particularly as the other party to the negotiations was the wiley cockney boy himself Terry Venables. Even Alan Sugar could not come to terms with his business dealings. Robert Chase kept us in the top teir, mainly by appointing good managers and judicious dealings in the transfer market. He certainly did not have anyone backing him with loads of readies from Saudi Arabia. The Club is now very slowly getting back on to an even financial keel because we have Robert Chase Mark 2 in charge i.e. David McNally a shrewd hands on businessman. He is offering 2011-2012 season tickets now. A bit cheeky but good business sense.I am sure "Chasey" will be proud of him. Two other points. I see NCISA members on another thread are even now still nasty towards RC AND would the EDP encourage any little bits of ancient criticism to appear directed to Delia and her luvvies. I don''t think so.[/quote] Judicious dealings in the transfer market.  What total nonsense!  Are you including the sale of Ashley Ward without even telling the manager?  In case you didn''t know, that sale was forced on the club by it''s bankers because of the perilous financial state we were in..  What about refusing to pay £250k for a goalkeeper to replace the injured Bryan Gunn.  That judicious piece of business got us relegated (you seem to have forgotten that Chase didn''t keep us in the top tier) and quite possibly cost us 10 years in the Premier League.  Chasee was judicious in some business dealings - he bought control of our club for £60k, paid himself £100k a year for virtually bankrupting it, then sold his shares for £7m!  When you talk about appointing good managers are you including John Deehan and Gary Megson? And by the way, have you ever wondered why Mike Walker and Martin O''Neill walked out of the door? The list of his incompetence goes on and on - he was simply bailed out by a good youth system and some good buys in the transfer market. By the way, you also seem to have forgotten that the EDP tried to force Delia Smith to sell her shares to Norwich City''s answer to Marcus Evans not so long ago. What colour is the sky in the world that you live in?
