That''s a pisser, good little pub that, where I meet a few of my mates for a round of darts and bar billiards when I''m back in town... Nice people in there, always really friendly even to ''outsiders'' like me [:)] Hope whoever takes over keeps the bar billiards.....
If you like bar billiards and a good pint, come to golden star! My regular haunt is a great friendly pub that only occasionally gets hit by cars speeding down duke street...I could do adverts me!
Fear not, the Star is by far one of the best pubs in the City and was my own regular haunt in the summer of 2006, despite actually living in Costessey... nearly always go there when I''m in town too, and long live it! Within a week of moving to Manchester I''d randomly bumped into a girl who''d worked in there over the summer who''d also moved... was very strange!
Was her name Polly? And you probably have met me, I worked there over the summer of ''06!! Infact I may be there tonight and pass on my compliments to the land lady!
 2.
Jim,  It was a response to the previous post suggesting I should go to Carrow Rd to see Doherty.  It''s my opinion and I am entitled to it no? He is doing a decent job in your opinion. I see it differently. He has been responsible for a few goals in the last few games. He is efficient in the air,  but useless on the ground, he cannot play the ball out from the back and he shows players inside. He is also slow. If you like him that''s fine. Your prerogative.  There is a reason we have leaked as many goals as we have recently and while we have played 9 separate cb partnerships this season, Doherty is not excluded from the blame as previous partnerships without him leaked far fewer!
Bigus, my dear fellow. I''m not telling you cannot have an opinion just simply stating mine. And maybe that your evaluation is a bit exaggerated, but I cannot argue with fact that previous partnerships have been more successful. But then again 3 out of City''s 4 clean sheets have been with Doc in I believe, to be honest I''d rather have him right now than too many loan players, he is a good short term fix but if we are looking to move up, he may not be the man to do so! He tries with decent success but after a while we will need more!
 3.

I have been going to Carrow Road since 1982.  Re: Doherty. We shall have to agree to disagree. He is often left chasing air.
So why end you point with another argumentative statement about a former player of the year? To be honest, Doc is our only centre back at the moment and is doing well considering his partner in defense is always changing. He''s doing an decent job right now in a team thats constantly changing. And what does it matter in your point that you''ve been coming to Carrow Road since 1982?
I disagree with Bigus about Docherty but to be fair it was suggested by the poster to whom he was responding that he didn''t attend many games.
I''ve haven''t been to a huge amount of games, what with my degree et all but I still think he is looking for the errors (as i once did) without focusing on what Doc does well too much. Fair point none the less!

 6. tis indeed only for 2 months mind but still!
 7. just as i posted it as well...curse you flipside!! Not literally of course.
 8. Well here are my ratings for what they are worth:Marshall: 7 Made important saves but didn''t have a huge amount to do but did enough.Omosuzi: 4 - Poor, tried to play offside when no one else did almost resulting in a second and did nothing of note going forward.Doc: 7 - I haven''t seen many Norwich games of late what with being skint and all that but Doc was impressive, did have the turning circle of a bus...which is never a good thing.Drury: 6 - Average, did ok, could''ve been better when he had time not to just hoof it forward.Bertrand: 5 - Just below average didn''t make any glaring errors but did nothing newsworthy.Croft: 6 - Just ran, and ran, and ran, and ran and ran with no end product. A few nice touches here and there.Fozzy: 4 - Offered nothing of note defensively nor attacking. Sat too deep with Clingan, we only need 1 defensive midfielder.Clingan: 7 - Few good passes, ran a lot a decent display.Pattison: 5 - Forgot he was on in the first half.Russell: 6 - Tried, but he isn''t a striker, the 6 is for effort more than anything.Sibierski: 7 - Distincly average 1st half - good touches in the 2nd but I fail to see what type of goal threat he is, he played well and with confidence in the 2nd half thus my grading of 7!SubsSemi: 5 - was better than Oz only because he made no mistakes (obviously).Wes: 8 - I know he isn''t strongest out on the left but I honestly thought he looked his most dangerous out wide but gave us a different approach and that is an improvment.Lupoli: 7 - I''m not going to go crazy and say he was the greatest thing there because he ran alot with some success and obviously scored but I was pleased for him and hopefully Roeder will see that Lupoli and Sibs could work at any club. Regardless of size. SO anyway, i think thats a few fair ratings, I don''t do this very often, as I haven''t been to that many games of late so i think it wasn''t too shabby at all!
 9. 2 points, how is calling Holt a fat scot any less racist than what you are accusing Dr Bunsen of and also how old is this thread? stop wasting this message boards time and go away, I enjoy reading this message board and occasionally posting when i see fit (and being corrected) so and you are ruining it, you strange person.
 10. Can i just ask, where does it say that grounds have to be 40k? My understanding is that in Germany some weren''t, and in South Africa some won''t be. And at any rate, we could have a whole new stadium or redeveloped CR by then. Also, they won''t choose Portman Road it isn''t a good looking stadium and Colchester is too small. My selection would be:WembleyOld TraffordSt James''EmiratesVilla Park Stadium of LightCity of ManchesterStanley Park (or whatever Liverpools new ground will be called)Plus several sides are moving to newer grounds and who''s to say the MK Dons won''t be a prem team by then? Or Spurs new stadium or the Olympic stadium who knows!!! Its a guarentee that if we won the right to host, our average will be around 50k in the end more than needed for a good tournament.
 11. I''m as unhappy as anyone about the plight of our team but I''m not exactly going to openly will my team to lose Wiz! It seems at this current moment in time the board and Roeder aren''t going any where so we have to live with it and just get behind the team stop it with this useless ''I hope they lose so we can complain to the board'' nonsense. It is going to get no where right now.Besides, it''s his opinion on the matter.
 12.
Hugh Jackman, apparently.
I didn''t think he was a fan. He spent some of his childhood here and his mum lived here for a few years even when he became famous but I didn''t think he was a fan...
 13.
Stephen Fry ... my a*rse (not literally)I don''t remember any recollections of his visiting Carrow Road during the 70''s when he was at Paston, nor during the 80''s when he was in London. Not even during the 90''s when he became famous. He should stick tio what he knows - godawful sh*te like Kingdom, where a Norfolk accent is about as realistic as his support of our club is.
Despite sitting next to Delia at the spurs game in last seasons shirt? Stephen Fry loves everything about the City of Norwich and I have quite a lot of evidence to boot. Just take an interview with Jonathan Ross a fews years ago, Wossy started ribbing Stephen about his choice of football club and Stephen warned him not to make fun of the canaries!! Coming from Stephen Fry that brought a titter from the audience but he seemed relatively serious!
 14. Well what makes me laugh is in Northampton, everyone there supports whoever they want...regardless of connection. I know a liverpool fan actually from liverpool but then my housemates support Arsenal and Man Utd despite being from Hampshire and Northants respectively.   At the Man U and Liverpool game last year, my housemate and I went to our local to watch the game, it was around 60/40 in favour of United, one cocky lad who behaved like Liam Gallacher kept complaining to us about these fake Man U supporters from Northants before stating he was a Liverpool fan...from Wellingborough in Northamptonshire. The only thing he had going for him was joining me in my dislike for Dirk Kuyt, and that tickled me further!
 15. can i have the link too please Andy??
 16. well i''m finally moving back in the coming weeks and so i''ll be back to the lovely town full of...well you guys tell me i haven''t lived there for 3 years
 17. Well that does liven up the place a touch. But shouting that at rugby players loses its appeal!
 18. we have a explanation of sorts about the lack of funds, will some people ease off?   I know I keep starting threads but I just want to talk about Norwich!!!!! Northampton is dull...so very dull...
 19. I may be slightly dense, but I can''t find anywhere that tells me what seats are available for the games in October.   I''m moving back from Northampton at the end of the month and really wanted to see a match before I (hopefully) move to Paris. Being at work means I can''t ring up the box office to ask (how convenient that I work in a box office now!) .   I know on this day at the end of the transfer window it''s a stupid thing to bring up, I''m just keen to go at some point. Thanks for keeping me entertained whilst I''m at work with the discussion, perhaps I''ll a touch more in the future!
 20. Yes but after the window loans can only be for up to 3 months.   Well, at least thats my understanding.
 21. Considering this is our national sport, I think it would be a great shame if we weren''t represented. The idea of a home international tournement to choose who represents team GB was suggested, what do people think?
 22.

Has everyone forgotten than only three members of an Olympic footie team can be over 23? The majority of a possible GB team for 2012 will all be unknown teenagers right now.
Didn''t know that. Very interesting. Could a certain Ryan Bertrand be Team GB''s left back for 2012?
Plus 2 over 23''s I believe, thus why Ronaldinho played. Maybe Rooney will play a part.
 23.

It may be the booze talking...but i honestly think Norwich are going up this year!!!   Far too much male syrup! Please come back and say that with just 3 games to go...  (Anyway, it''s not possible to think, - honestly or otherwise - if the booze is talking..).

Male syrup? eurgh....
 24. Yes me too, well done to all! Then like me you can all become fully qualified bar tenders and box office sales people!
