1. @nickmashiter Despite signing two centre-backs Norwich are still sniffing around Lincoln''s Sean Raggett. #ncfc #lincolncity #imps
2. Although only pre season, the Arsenal fans want Bielik to be given a chance as he''s been good in the games he''s played. Apparently, they''re frustrated that Mertesacker is getting game time and is very off the pace. I don''t know much about Bielik or Clarke-Salter but it seems we''re after a young and raw player that can develop with us and isn''t a risk in wages or long-term deal.
3. Not sure how reliable a source this is, but Chris Davison‏ @c11davison More #AFC | I understand Norwich City are still pursuing Krystian Bielik & want him on a season long loan. Canaries may opt for other targets.
4. I think we''re almost certainly in for an extra centre back having had strong links to Bielik and Clarke-Salter. I guess their parent clubs are deciding on squads throughout their respective pre seasons.
5. Paper thin in defence. No back up atm. A centre back and and right back preferably. I agree that midfield is well stocked, it''s just we have Pritch and Wes out. Naismith suspended for three games. I''d still have another central midfield option perhaps in case Reed is out. Tettey can do a job for a couple of games but I''ve not got much faith for a long run in the side. Marley and Josh as support forwards to Nelson / Jerome. Too many options can be detrimental to team spirit. I think we found that last season with the number of players that didn''t get a look in.
6. £12.5 mil for a player with one good season in the championship up until now and no premier league experience is decent money. Yes, he could be double that if he does the same in the premier league but that''s Newcastle''s punt. We also have a sell on clause. £6 mil for a 29 year old that has championship and premier league experience but has never taken the latter by storm is also good money imo.
7. Would allow Godfrey to cover in midfield. He seems better suited to a box to box / defensive midfield role.
8. I think we need another central midfielder, centre back and striker. We probably won''t get all three though! It''s hard to say how much we will suffer with the losses of Howson and Jacob. I think Howson went missing a lot last season. Russ Martin said he wanted to return north after our relegation. I agree that Howson is a really strong option in this league but you want players that want to play. It''s a good decision to let him go. Perhaps the replacements aren''t as strong ''on paper'' but I think a hunger / desire to graft goes a long way. I found it interesting that he denied Jerome''s comments about some players not caring after the Sheff Wed thrashing. Jacob seems to have the knack of winning matches and scoring important goals. You can''t really turn down that money in our position. I do believe his brother will step up and I think Marley Watkins looks like he has the ability to get into dangerous offensive positions - scoring goals. I''m concerned we won''t have Pritchard for a couple of months but, hopefully, some others will step in. Wes has still got it, although, it''ll be interesting to see if he can keep up with the speed of this Farke style. All in all i''m hopeful, but we definitely need to be able to defend better than we have for a number of seasons! Franke looks a very good acquisition in the friendly''s he''s played in so far. Can Zimmerman step un from the German 4th div to the Championship...gonna be interesting! Will the fans remain patient with Angus cos he''s very much starting out with us this season...
9. Defensive midfielder from FC Nuremburg - http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/1-fc-nuernberg/norwich-jagt-club-motor-behrens-52579532.bild.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
10. Another right back would be useful, but centre back isn''t covered if we''re playing three at the back. Esp. with Klose''s record with injury. Thompson is out for a number of months as well so another centre midfielder is essential.
11.
The bottom line is, whoever we sign, he won''t be as good as JM, he won''t have as much potential as JM and he won''t win us matches like JM would have done.In no way is this "a good bit of business"Hopefully though we''ll use the money, when we get it, to shore up the defence so at least we can avoid relegation. This is a big backward step.
This is a perception as opposed to a fact
12. I''d say we definitely need another centre back if we''re to play three at the back. Klose is always getting little injuries. That leaves us with Martin, Zimmerman and Franke. Leaving only Godfrey as back up. Even though Zimmerman has played every minute of pre season, it''s widely expected he needs development before being considered at first choice at Championship level.

14. Yes, Olsson and Dijks were both better options than Toffolo / Husband. Wages and not wanting to be here has determined where we''re at. Graeme Bailey (Boro journo) has tweeted saying he thinks JH could have been first choice for Boro this season and is a mistake to let him go. When was Ruddy last in the offing for England? We clearly couldn''t afford his wages beyond last season. Howson didn''t want to be here. Vrancic is looking a very astute signing at this early stage. Perception is a funny thing, time will tell how things work out for us but I''m optimistic we will have more fight and grit than last season. Now, let''s get this solid centre half in and see how we get on...realism is needed.
15. Remember the days of Marc Tierney, Zak Whitbread and Andrew Crofts...they did pretty well while they were on our books! It''s a new era, young and hungry players that need coaching and developing...I''d rather that than players that think they deserve to be in the Prem and contribute to the third worst defensive record in the Championship
16. On Howson’s departure, Sporting Director Stuart Webber told canaries.co.uk: "Jonny, via his agent, made it very clear during my first week in the job he didn’t want to be here and wanted to move back to the north. "We spoke about a new contract but he was insistent. Jonny is a good guy who was great for this club but sometimes you have to accept it becomes about getting the best deal for the football club."
17. I wonder whether Klose falls into the category of ''not fully committed''. Seemed like it when you consider his form last season. Depends on a buyer, but i''d sell Klose for £5-6 and get two committed centre backs. It''s definitely possible for that sort of money...
18. “I had a conversation with the Head Coach and I could tell his philosophy suited me down to the ground,” Reed told Norwich City TV. "The last couple of seasons I’ve played as a deep-lying midfielder. I like to get on the ball and keep things ticking over, as well as being aggressive to win it back when we’re out of possession. So far, i''m finding there is much more of a plan and synchronicity with Webber and Farke. It seems more thought out than signing 54 attacking midfielders, like AN did. Obviously defenders are a priority now. I''m hoping we''ll bring in at least a couple on permanent deals...

20. He''s tough tackling and a good marker according to what i''ve seen
21. I think we need two midfielders that can boss a game. Vrancic might be one. Howson isn''t a flair / creative player like Pritchard or Wes and he isn''t a mopping up or deeper lying playmaker. He''s clearly decent but I don''t think he fits into the system we''re about to see. Makes sense to sell now while we can get a decent fee. Bit annoying he''s going to a rival but I guess you can only sell to a team that wants him. Has given us good service but, let''s be honest, he''s had multiple seasons to show us what he is. A decent midfielder that never surpasses a motm display every 7-10 games and has a cracking shot on him. Move on...
22. Sadly, we will probably sell a player the fans don''t want to leave. Players we want rid of aren''t in demand. Best we can hope for is a loan offer comes in for Jarvis at the 11th hour...definitely agree that 12 mil needs to be the minimum for Murphy.
23. No, that Naismith had said that about Dorrans
