1. ricky - well said mate, little old Norwich syndrome again from certain posters. So, all ex-players should roll over and let the oppo win?lucky green trainers - you cannot be serious? Why should he roll over and let Norwich win?If he did that kind of thing whilst playing for Norwich you would applaud him - double standards mate, he has more passion in him than the whole of our team put together.OOooooOOOoooh, the snake pit and lower barclay are gonna shout at him - bet he''s quaking. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha, wake up
2. point is, there was no 0-0 draw, it was another defeatIf''s and but''s will never get you promotion x
3. Bearing in mind they are not allowed to print lies, Gunn must''ve said it.Once again I will point out that in the summer I recall a few posts about why we are considered by people out of Norfolk to be a small team. Articles like this are the reason why people think that. There are probably loads of reasons why ''out of towners'' think we are smaller than most, and this is just one of them.Pesonally I don''t think we can be considered a big/premiership team until we are in the top flight for a sustained period and can attract players on bigger wage which follows that due to the skytv payments.I sincerely hope we will be too one day!Our attendances are top notch but that is it IMO as our current league position confirms. It''s still early days but I (unfortunately) do not predict a top 6 finish - and how I hope I''m wrong.
4. Just didn''t see the need to go so public about it - that''s all.My posting was realy in response to many closed season discussions about why we are perceived to be a''little old norwich''I don''t for one minute blame Gunny for using his contacts but I just didn''t see the point of telling everyone (ie. potential signings) how skint we really are - that''s hardly going to attract people is it???Just an opinion
5. 13 September 2007Gunn: We need a little help from our friends City''s Mr Fixit Bryan Gunn today admitted they will need a helping hand if they are to recruit quality players to Norwich. Legendary City goalkeeper and current club liaison Bryan Gunn says geography and finance are the biggest obstacles in attracting Premier League quality players to Norfolk as Peter Grant desperately searches for a solution to his centre-back crisis. City have just one fit, recognised, senior central defender in the shape of Gary Doherty, with skipper Jason Shackell injured and striker Dion Dublin forced into action in the back four. But while Grant has taken former Cameroon international Lucien Mettomo on trial, and declared an interest in Wigan''s Fitz Hall, the gap still needs to be filled. Now Gunn is hoping a top-flight side will offer more than tea and sympathy and help fund a loan move for one of their players, and follow the lead of Fulham, who paid part of Tony Warner''s wages during his temporary switch to Carrow Road last season. There was a debate on here in the summer about why we are perceived as a little club, well this is the reason why.  I admit it''s a fact of life but to go so public???  I''m not so sure.....I don''t now need a barrage of abuse for posting this, I just found it embarrassing last night as I sat a read this. Talk about ''cap in hand''Come on you Yellows
6. Excellant post......I haven''t seen him enough to pass judgment
7. Based on the current available squad, all fully fit, what would be your starting XI for the opening game of the season? You can have a maximum of 2 realistic transferees/loanees in it?I''m not as into City as most of you so I have no favourites etc, I''ll start it off, based purely on what I think having seen my 2 loanees regularlyMarshallOstemboorShackellDublinDruryChadwickSmithMcKenna (Spurs)HucksCuretonBarnard (Spurs)Brellier, Lewis, Martin, Lappin, DocWhay say you?
8. Can''t take him seriously when it ''appears'' he prefers his pic in the paper than that of the players?
9. Hucks told to do talking on the pitch The conflict between the Carrow Road boardroom and dressing room deepened last night as chief executive Neil Doncaster told star player Darren Huckerby - “do your talking on the pitch”.As Dickson Etuhu''s controversial £1.5m move to top-flight newcomers Sunderland was signed and sealed, Doncaster vowed to have a “quiet word” with Huckerby for his scathing attack on the club''s hierarchy. This was on the pink ''un site today - since when does anyone from the board "have a word" with a player re: his performance on the pitch? It''s just another excuse to get his mug shot in the paper.Having a quiet word doesn''t mean sticking it in the media, that''s a public announcement.IMO Hucks was spot on and should be applauded for speaking his mind.Come on you Yellows
10. Indy - great posting.Love the analogy. However I believe they will get another burger and pocket the change - hope I''m wrong tho''
11. Doncaster will say anything to get his picture in the paperNCFC (unfortunately) ARE a selling club - fact!
12. I''m new to this site, but fully agree with your comments......
13. sheded I have agreed with many things you have said, but I cannot and will not ever agree that Hucks should play for England. I wasn''t aware that Cov went 14 games unbeaten, but I am grea friends with a director of the sky blues who is a Hucks fan. He says that they were poor then (and even worse now) and that Hucks was a good player in a poor team - sound familiar? Look where they ended up? I would like to have seen anyone solve the ''problem left side'' for England, be it Hucks, or anyone. Personally I think Hucks has wasted his talent and could''ve been a real top class premiership player had he really wanted to... I don''t know that for real as only he can answer that. Thanks for the debate, I just wish you could''ve been more open to other people''s thoughts and views. Come on you yellows
14.
Don`t go too heavy on the coffee , gives you the jitters LOL . Frankly , I do think Hucks has had a raw deal  !   he`s had keegan and strachan  as managers  FFS !   and I see no point in  chasing  up on this thread  now  , basically , its pi**ing against the wind  !    having said that , Hucks played in the prem  for Coventry  for several seasons  , and was one of their top scorers !  how does  THAT  tally with  YOUR   comment that he`s not of prem quality  ?  gimme strength .......
sheded - you have answered your own question mate "Coventry", is that really your answer..... ...they were awful, I mean who wouldn''t have looked good in their team? Calm down mate, you think he''s good enough and I don''t, no real discussion needed. I have to agree that England are poor and uninspiring to watch, I was there on Friday and couldn''t believe how poor Lampard, Cole and Smith were... and don''t get me started on Wes Brown. Just there are so many better players than Hucks. Like I said earlier, had he applied himself more in his younger years, I''m sure that he would''ve got into the England set up, but the impression I get is that he likes being the big fish in the little pond.  Shame really.... what a waste of a talent. ...oh and stop trying to be clever by swearing with abbreviations, if you can''t write properly, don''t bother x
15.

OMG - you''re not seriosly comparing Hucks to Becks are you?For a start, DB chases back, can take a mean free-kick, whip in a good cross, control a game.......bored now ZZZzzzzzzzzz
Are you commenting on my post ?  if so , you should try to comprehend  what I wrote , dozy arse !   I merely mentioned Beckhams age  compared to Hucks  , NOT  that he`s a replacement   for Becks .....  can  you actually grasp that ?    and , yes , I actually believe Hucks can do the business for England , apparently you , and other  posters   , STILL can`t  understand   that   WITHOUT  him  , this club would be  playing Forest next season !    for the last 3 seasons he`s had to  put up with  a ragbag of misfits and losers  as team mates ,   do you REALLY need to be reminded   that if Beckham  was put in the same situation  , he would get  bleedin  NOWHERE   !  Hucks has been nominated as player of the year  !   now how come he got that  award  ?   some nitwit  whinged  that he was " inconsistant "   , I got news for YOU !   its most of his team mates  who displayed  THAT  trait   ..... !!   God help you if he gets injured next season ....  [:''(] Firstly you can stop with the dozy arse comment, I''m not sure that''s the intention of the forum old boy. I have watched DH over the years and whilst there''s no doubt he''s NCFC''s best player he is also nowhere near good enough for England. I also agree that you would''ve been closer to the trap door without him this season. I know you were not comparing him as a replacement, I assumed that you mewan''t for him to play on the left?  He''s a big fish in a little pond, that''s why he was released from Newcastle, Man City etc because otherwise he''d be in the premiership now and would never have been offered Carrow Rd as an alternative. Having spoken to players both past and present, the frustration I felt from them was that his workrate is poor, he seldom tracks back and when he does he ''appears'' to need a round of applause from the faithful. He goes down far too easily, a point which is now costing you penalties and free-kicks due to refs and lino''s looking out for this (ie Joe Cole, Drogba, Ronaldo) He gets the plaer of the year due to the fact he is the most exciting/best player at the club and all those fans can''t be wrong. BUT, for England, do me a favour.  I appreciate football is all about opinions and you can have yours my friend, just take off the rose, I mean, canary yellow tinted glasses. He would never get in the midfield ahead of Joe Cole, Gerrard, Lamps, Beckham, Hargreaves, Carrick, Dyer, Jenas et al. To sum up, I''m not a Hucks hater, just don''t think he''s England class, or Premiership class either..... having said that, if he''d applied himself better over the past few years he ''could'' have been the answer to the left-sided problem the national team have had.... ...oh and just to reiterate, keep the insults to yourself, this is a place for constructive forums, opinions and debate, not name calling. Now where''s my coffee, I need a strong one.......
16. The only reason for the article was to enable him to get his mug on the back page of the paper again.... he loves it.To be honest I thought it was a bit embarrassing seeing all the empty seats?
17. OMG - you''re not seriosly comparing Hucks to Becks are you?For a start, DB chases back, can take a mean free-kick, whip in a good cross, control a game.......bored now ZZZzzzzzzzzz
18. ....and there''s as much chance of that as winning the championship this season???whilst you''re there shall we get in Andy Sinton and Carlton Palmer?
19. I''m not sure we are ever actually linked anyway.I think the press see a player for sale and ''assume'' we are after him. Then it looks like we lost out, but the club are happy as the fans think we are constantly chasing people. You should all know by now that NCFC always conduct things quietly then announce signings.
20. Good post Arthur but you know you''re gonna get pelters from the rose tinted (or is that Canary yellow tinted) we love Delia brigade. You maybe right, but like it or lump it buddy, things aint gonna change whilst the club think of themselves as lil'' ol'' Naarridge.I bang my head in frustration and dream of success again (milk cup, european runs, promotions)AND BEFORE YOU ALL START SHOUTING AT ME - I DEARLY WANT THE BEST FOR NORWICHNorfolk people (in the main) are afraid of change but then love to jump on the bandwagon after the event once somebody else has taken all the risks. -ie, southern bypass, riverside, chapelfield  - they all complain then use the facility regardless, the northern bypass will be the same mate they''ll all drive on it once it''s built.- Grrr, I hate Norfolk thinking sometimes
21. they''ll probably build a hotel on top of it instead anyway???????[;)]
22. Fully agree... ...I noticed that it was ANOTHER excuse for Doncaster tp get his mug on the front of Monday''s Evening NewsI want to see player''s pics in the local rag, not chief execs, chairmen, directors, share holders, secretary''s, tea ladies....you get my point
23. calm down peeps, apart from Le Tissier and the current crew at Man Utd (Giggs, Scholes, GNeville) no-one stays at a club out of sentiment. He''s not a local lad who has supported NCFC all his life like you lot, don''t expect favours. At the end of the day, we have to look after #1, and most people in this world in whatever employment are looking for promotion/payrises - especially with mortgages to pay.I don''t agree with him coming out with his statement but that''s life I''m afraid. At the moment, NCFC aren''t a big club to anyone outside Norfolk, and this will always happen (apart from the exception to the rule - Hucks, and hats off to him)Let him go, boo him on his return, but cheer him if he stays. Come on you yellows
24. I was given Ian Butterworth''s but gave it to my football crazy godson
25. If you were offered a move to a bigger firm with a payrise etc, would you turn it down? Can you say, hand on heart you don''t wish to rise within your current profession?Be honest guys (and gals)............and before you all start shouting at me about football being different from your job, just remember football is only their job and a short lived career at that. I also think it was ill advised of him to come out with that.
