1. Sorry if this has already been posted but I am in disbelief that i read the ''family'' club are going to charge fans to watch the live link on Sunday.Have they no shame when it comes to fleecing the fans....I think all of you who have purchased for next season should be let in free then any else spare over to casual fans.  Go along and get your tickets until they''re all gone, then ticket only on Sunday - how easy was that to arrange?? **walks away shaking his head**
 2. Don''t particularly wish to get involved in a slanging mATCH, NOR DO i WISH TO READ LATER THAT I AM A LIAR, THIS IS HORSESHIT ETC ETC AS PEOPLE LIKE TO PUT.......BUTi WAS TOLD ON fRIDAY THAT bOOTHROYD HAD BEEN STAYING AT sPROWSTON mANOR DURING THE WEEK, NO REASONS GIVEN, NO nORWICH cITY CONNECTION MENTIONED, JUST A PIECE OD INFO FROM A MAN WHO JUST DOESN''T NEED TO LIE TO ME.Oooops, excuse my capitals!!!!!
 3.
Why does it take this many police to enforce rules at football matches ?Nothing ever kicks off anymore and theres more than there every way... all on double pay, standing around doing something minnor.Who saw them all hold hands before the scums fans got released from the stadium ?Looked like they where expecting a bosnian riot.I just find this very silly and a waste of time / money. What warrants so much police ~~?
in answer to your post...Policing levels are based on intelligence reci=eived in the lead up to the game. The reason nothing kicks off is due to the prescence and the fact that the two sets of fans are kept apartDouble pay???? Do you have any evidence to back that up?  I can tell you now that''s absolute rubbishHolding hands......you try keeping 1000+ fans at bay who some of which are hell bent on causing trouble.Very silly/waste of time eh?  Next season how about they don''t keep them at bay, then I''ll read your post about how the police didn''t bother turning up, how it''s the biggest derby in England and it wasn''t taken seriously etc etcI''m lead to believe that there were no arrests during the game, job well done for the boys in blue....er well black now!Ok let''s hear from you with something constructive to say with a few sensible suggestions as to what you think they should do.It''s too easy to sit in the comfort of your home and criticise, especially when you are posting without all the facts.Be reasonable, think about your reply and let''s be avin yer!ps, lovin'' the replies posted so far, nice to see the police being appreciated when appropriate
 4. I was at the game, thought Heskey looked average against a poor team, he''s just too ''nice'' for me.I don''t want my strikers to get praise for good hold up play, good workrate, I like them to get judged on goals tally, the rest is bread and butter stuff (eg Shearer)I had rio to score first and a 3-1 win so for a while I was 500quid up, but was really pleased that Defoe scored.Only difference on the night was the fitness levels IMHOJames, still looks shakyBrown - keeping shirt warm for neville or richardsCole - apart from mistake, played ok with no-one wide left to assist him (booing was a disgrace)Rio - couple of lapses in concentration but was continually gee-ing up the team, goal well takenUpson - solid, job doneTheo- v v v quick, some good runs but wasn''t given the service some of his runs deservedGerrard - not a right sided midfield player, too deep in 2nd half but you could see Fabio telling him what to do from sidelines, he was following orders playing out of position.  Sprayed some lovely cross field passes and on another day a couple of his 1-2''s around the box would''ve come offlampard - steady, playing slightly to the left, still a quality player, never stopped tryingBarry - did nothing wrong, perhaps unlucky to be taken offRooney - NOT a left sided striker, looked so much better in 2nd half thro'' the middleHeskey - not for me, did ok on the night tho (see above)SWP - looked ultra-keen to impress, injected some pace, unlucky not to start on that showDefoe - hungry as ever, goal well taken as he had time to think about it.  Good foil for RooneyBeckham - quality crosses, came on, had a word with Gerr and Lamps and then put his foot on the ball and took some authority. Shame he''s getting on as he looks class stillwell that''s my opinion from up in the stands
 5. will be there, no yellow and green though, it''s a white shirt day for me!
 6. Saw GR today at 1pm (ish) standing all alone i his NCFC tracksuit on a grass verge on the A11 just before the Thetford roundabout! Not really that exciting but thought I''d share it as it just looked odd!!??
 7. cracks me up....all a new design??? - hasn''t it been their training kit for the past season or so???Still, it''s nicer than most of the past designsCoyY''s
 8. I have to say I''ll never forget Bruce''s header against Ipswich in the Milk Cup semi-final...I was standing in the old Barclay and seemed to be right in line with the ball as it hit the net....can''t ever remember a moment like it at CR
 9. Last night was a team minus Lupoli, Bell, Kennedy, Drury, The new CB, The new young Striker, and the Other Big Stiker due in 7-14 days. That lot could make a big difference very true
 10. Calm down, new signings take time to bed in and I''m sure GR is the man to take Norwich City forward.Spurs did pass it around better but they are a Premiership team albeit a mid-table one.Dos Santos and Modric looked like good prospects but then so did Hoolahan who IMO would''ve slotted into the Spurs side nicely. It''s a shame NC didnt attack more because Spurs are frail at the back, in the second half they had 2 DM''s playing at centre half!Pattison looked like a duck out of water but he was left exposed a few times and Lennon is an international winger again albeit a mediocre one.A season is judged over many games not a friendly which in truth had both teams playing at 60% capacity. The only real difference for me was that Spurs were able to knock it around crisply and accurately, and that they had a 16m striker, albeit one they would sell in a heartbeat. If the performances are that bad well into the winter then start to panic and complain.Come on you Yellows
 11.
thanks for replying Perhaps I misread you and I apologise if that is the case , It just seems that a lot of Spurs Fans ( not you necessarily ) have an attitude that they are great and NCFC are just there for their training exercise Like you I hope for a good game and a friendly atmosphere
cheers mate, you too
 12. Don''t worry, I think most Spurs fans would like to boo him...you go ahead....what a waste of money - total joke
 13. woah there gary, I was not in any way trying to come over high and mighty, I was sincere in my posting, not for one minute suggesting spurs were bigger or better than norwich, or anyone for that matter. Spurs are not a big club anymore (which saddens me) and I dont think we are lowering ourselves by being at CR tonight. I I am hoping for a great game tonight with players on show from both teams that I am looking forward to see in action!I wish we had 7 new signings, and I could care less about norwich doing well, my best mate is an avid fan, season ticket holder etc and I love his attitude to his team, I am in awe slightly of the loyalty shown to norwich city by their fans.can''t believe you''ve reacted so strongly to what I thought was a level headed posting....oh well
 14. Im amazed by the negativity towards Spurs by a few on this thread. I always thought there was good relations between the 2 clubs?Martin Peters, Crook, Bowen, Culverhouse, Brooke were great assets to the club...well maybe not Garry Brooke, but you get my drift. As for the away fans in the home section, well Im led to believe that the Spurs fans alone could''ve filled the ground 2/3rds but the allocation wasn''t enough. If Norwich City as a club are happy to take the North London Dollar for any seat then surely you should complain to the club not berate the fans for wanting to see their favourite team?I have been lucky enough to get a ticket for the away section but it was tough -  I am a regular to WHL, a member AND applied with a season ticket holder. As someone has already pointed out, tickets to WHL are like rocing horse poo!I have sat with the Norwich Fans many times and have received lots of abuse for being a Spurs fan but would never argue back as I am a local lad who once worked for Norwich for 10 years and like to see them do well.  I have been to CR more than WHL (excluding work) and was once a season ticket holder.I hope tonight''s game is a 6 or 7 goal event, Spurs reveal a new signing, show off a few new faces and that ALL the NCFC new boys impress. Its a friendly folks, lets not forget!
 15.

Lets get this straight, the Police don''t tell us to play on Sundays, Its our beloved clubs who can''t say no to Sky tv Who can''t film live on saturday 3pm, I have a high ranking police officer friend who tells me the police would rather we played on Saturdays as it means bringing in extra manpower for sunday, and even Friday night has been suggested but turned down by both clubs, and even when we are not being televised both clubs request Sunday am kick offs,
I don''t think thats right. I asked Neil Doncaster about this directly at a forum last year and he made it clear it is a police decision. I have also seen an email from the Chief Constable of Norfolk Constabulary to a fan explaining in some detail why they always insist on the match being played on a sunday with an early kick-off. Frankly I think its pathetic and has ruined the derby match as a spectacle. It can''t be a co-incidence that (perhaps last season''s 2-2 aside) there has not been a decent derby match since we switched to these ridiculous kick-offs. Just another sign of how football in general has been/is being ruined through sanitisation and diluting the atmosphere. Most of the "lads" don''t even bother going to Portman Road anymore and if you ask me the police could implement the same measures just as easily on a saturday now as they do on the Sunday. All they have to do is gather the away fans up as they come out of the station and put them in a  nearby pub before marching them to the ground before kick-off. Its not rocket science!
Jim, you''re not seriously suggesting that Norwich''s poor performances are down to kick-off times are you? I saw plenty of shockers at 3pm on a Saturday too! Also are you telling us that the fans can''t get up for a local derby at mid-day? I reckon thet could whip up an atmosphere if there was a 7am kick-off against IpswichI think you''ll find - in fact I know - that your amazing suggestion to round them up etc is what they actually do, why don''t you write to the chief and ask to spend the day with the football unit on a match day to get an insight into what goes on??? Perhaps then you''ll be able to put accross a good argument instead of guesswork!I do agree though that the games are changed on police ''advice'' although not insistence.....however it doesn''t saeem to bother the club when Sky come knocking and there''s a few quid in it.
Not saying it is to blame for our performances but i don''t think it helps - point was more to do with the atmosphere and intensity having dropped massively since the games were switched to the early kick-off times. I know rounding up is what they do (having been to every derby game bar 1 in the last decade) my point was that they have got it down to a fine art now and could do it just as effectively at 3pm on a saturday as at 11am on a Sunday. Was not a suggestion in any event. If I was to make a suggestion to them it would be to do their job (which in my view is to ensure football fans get to and from the game safely and not to treat all away fans like sc*m) without infringing my civil liberties and police the game in as normal a fashion as is possible. Given the choice between running the gauntlet of a few binners or being herded like cattle all day i would gladly take my chances. I have no desire whatsoever to spend a day with the football unit. I know what goes on and have had plenty of "insight" into how they approach things through having been on the receiving end of over-zealous policing on several occasions.
sorry Jim, but you obviously do not know what goes on as your post clearly (to me at least) explains, however we are all entiltled to our own opinions and I respect yours although totally disagree with it.I wouldn''t want to ''take my chances'' with any fans and can''t begin to tell you of the injuries \i have seen inflicted at football matches.Maybe they could still 3pm the games and I for one can''t see why not, I think it boils down to the Sat nightime element of away fans hanging around with the clubbing fraternity? On a Sunday there are no such issues with this.Your suggestion to let them ''do their job'' is exactly what they are doing, they ensure that 20K people get to and from a game as safely as possible, I know for a FACT there was only one arrest at CR last season (an IT fan drunk trying to enter the ground) and also there were no hospital admissions....good days work I think?G Over zealous - can''t believe you think that of Norfolk Police, but again I respect your opinion.
 16. knock down the hotel and build an infill, plus put another tier on the city stand to create an ''all-in'' feel, oh and stop playing stupid music when we score, just let the fns make the noise

 18. well the ol'' rumour mill etc etc....like I stated, I was just thinking about it.  I assumed he''d get snapped up pretty quick, that''s all
 19. am I right in thinking pen to paper cannot actually happen until July 1st?If this is true, let''s all sit tight and then see............
 20. For someone who is soooo good, I can''t see a huge queue of clubs knocking at his door???Now before you all start, I''m just curious as to why this is, maybe, just maybe GR got this one right?I''m also well aware that there maybe a club lined up and he maybe on his hols....I was just sitting thinking about it earlier that''s all
 21.

I am very much of the opinion that all football should always be played at 3pm on a Saturday. I hate games getting moved around it just doesn''t seem the same. I''ve never caused any trouble at a football game and never would. As for the Police, They couldn''t catch a cold in Febuary let alone a real criminal. as for the money the Forces rejects that sign up get, they don''t deserve a penny over what they get at the moment. Its just lucky they don''t have performance related pay!
Is that right?  If you think you can better the world why don''t you don a uniform and see how ''''easy'''' you think it is. You think it''s easy scraping up dead bodies from motorways, or telling family members the person the love has died. Some of you people need to live in the real world.
well said
 22.

What planet are you guys on???????? Do you really think that cops get paid double on a Sunday?? hah ha ha!! Dont be so bloody stupid...the government wont even pay them the rise they were entitled too.......... ........and they would not have to move the game to early kick off if some of you stupid chav little animals didnt cause trouble!!!!!!!! GROW UP!!
Well unless the policeman we were stood talking to outside Portman Road was lying, they did get paid double time for the game, so er, yes, I do think they get paid double time.... as for that last comment, well, how do I respond to that? Just who are you accusing of being a "stupid chav little animal" ? Personally I hope it''s not me - since I''m married with children and have never caused any trouble of any form at any football match (or outside of a football match too for that matter) in my life.
The only way they would get overtime is if they are called in on their rest days without 28 days notice, so what the policeman said to you might be true.  If they get over 28 days notice it''s a normal working day without extra pay. Hope that clears things up a little.
That''s not true, double time is only offered if there is less than 5 days notice for a shift...........28days is not trueLast season''s game at Carrow Road went off with only 1 arrest due to excellent work from both sets of Constabulary''s (I know  - I worked!)The intel receved for the game was spot on and there were at least 50 Norwich Fans looking for trouble from very early in the day, they even approached the cordon after the game....although I reckon they would''ve run a mile had the police cleared a path ;)If you would like to pm me, I will answer any questions you have but I will not get embroilled in a silly argument on the board.IMO-  -the early kick off is necessary, a later one would cause problems and I have to say that until the minority of ''old school'' supporters let go, this fixture will always be brought forward. This also enhances the chances of Sky screning it =£££''sThe club only pay for police INSIDE the ground, just to clear that one up tooCheers, Come on you yellows
