Southampton to go into administration
Yorkshire Canary replied to canaries's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Southampton are clearly on the edge financially and it is only a matterb of time when they go into administartion. I do not think many people outside Hampshire do not think they will be in the bottom 3 at the end of the season. They would be better taking the points hit now rather than in their first season in league 1 which would blow any chance of them coming up again that season -
Season Ticket - Next Season ..
Yorkshire Canary replied to barmyyarmy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I am doing mine and my sons next week. Whilst footy has been crap for several seasons we have been going for 16 years and i will always renew regardless of which Division we are in. The only time i would hesitate is if we were charged silly premiership prices like Chelsea and Newcastle of £600 or so each, i would not do it then -
I agree not a patch on what he used to be but in the first half he got no help and had a good winger on him. If he had someone more solid in front of him i think he would be ok. I thought grounds struggled physically a bit and Osemabor is a dead loss

We have been on an encouraging small run prior to yesterday. The next few fixtures scare me a bit. We will not improve until we stop shipping goals so many goals, that needs a new defence and it is too late this season to do that, although if the lad from Stoke comes it may help. I think we are too lightweight with Cureton and Hoolahan in the side together

Lets not get to carried away...
Yorkshire Canary replied to Matt Morriss's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
We lost the game because we were totally out played in the first half and Bristol could have scored another 2 or 3. If luck had been on our side we could have squeezed a point and should have had that penalty. -
Jon Otsemobor....
Yorkshire Canary replied to InLambertWeTrust!'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The guy has bags of pace but no brain or confidence. He cannot defend and rarly attacks. If we go down we should keep him as he is proven at that level but if we stay up he cannot be our first choice right back next season -
I thought Bristol City were just about the best side that i have seen at Norwich this season. Regardless of the reasons why they steamrollered us in the first half and we could easily have be 3 or 4 one down.Despite being down to 10 men we rallied well in the second half and should have had a penalty but a draw though welcome would not have been a fair reflection on the day. We need at least another 6 wins and i am becoming concerned where they may come from, i think with some tough home games coming up we will need to pick up a couple of wins away. There is still a lot of footy to be played and we do have every chance of staying up but it is going to run to the wire

Realistic approach to tonight
Yorkshire Canary replied to Romantic's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Anything would be a bonus. may be to our advantage if the game is called off gives the new players time to settle in. Bristol City is the big one for us at the weekend, the type of fixture we must and should win -
If he was really bothered he would have done it by now. I think he is an unhelpful distraction now unsettling the fans and the direction of the club. He really needs to put up or shut up, whilst i do accept he is a shrewd businessman and the prices being quoted for the club in the past are an absolute joke, if any of you had a lot of cash would you pay £50 million. more like £5m with all the debt etc

I could not disagre more. Killen and Gow should both perform well at this level and unlike Lita and Evens they are here on loan with a view to staying if all goes well. yes Ched and Lita were great but we were just a marriage of convenience to help their careers they were never going to stay.Unless you have several million to spend and only a couple of championship clubs do then this is the way you start to put a squad together. i was also encouraged by us ytaking a punt on MacDonald he may or may not come off but if he does he could be a great signing and it is the type of thing we should have been doing for years as our youth strategy by and large has not worked for the past 10 years

It has been obvious for a long time that strong physical sides do better in the championship.Roeder emphasised the fact and then went on to get little players. In the last 2 days Gunn has added 3 6 footers who all will probably be regulars in the side/squad . This will make us a different team to beat and should make us much more of a threat from set peices. Overall i am pretty happy with recent events especially as both killen and Gow are here with a view to staying if the loans work out

Some of you disgust me
Yorkshire Canary replied to TheCardinal's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
All a bit like a family Domestic really. OK for us to argue within but everyone else needs to keep their nose out. The moans groans are understanable but the bottom line i do not want relegation or administration and i want the team to win as often as possible regardless of the manager. As for the Board until someone comes up with any cash how can we criticise the ones who have. True they have done a crap job, but with their money -
Bloody loan players
Yorkshire Canary replied to InLambertWeTrust!'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Loans are fine but only 2 or 3 at a time -
Do we need 21 more points to stay up ??
Yorkshire Canary replied to ca's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Normally 46 to 48 points is enough. I think only once in the last 20 years has a side gone down with 50 and that was on goal difference. at the moment we have one ogf the bests GDs. 18 to 19 points for us should be good enough -
May be good move but Birmingham have scored less goals than us!

Chris Killen
Yorkshire Canary replied to Sheffield uni Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Seems a bit injury prone and patchy career to date. He scored about 16 for Hibs in 20 odd games which is cause for optimism.Guess he will take half adozen games toget fit though.Better than we have but abit disappointing if that is as good as it gets -
Selling Bell = good business sense
Yorkshire Canary replied to super dave's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Been to all the homes games this season bar 1 and bell has had onegood game we arefortunate to get our money back we made a mistahe signing him and it will be better invester on alower league centre forward who will bring the best out of our small strikers -
Away Win tonight
Yorkshire Canary replied to Yorkshire Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Plenty of players capable of getting a goal now, Hooahan,Cureton,Croft, Pattison, Russel and Clingan with a penalty -
Of course there is the chance of winning 7 more games. We have scored more goals than Birmingham and if we can tighten things up at the back a bit we will be fine

If we lose tonight we will go down
Yorkshire Canary replied to PhatCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Feet on the ground folks Most years on or around 46 points is enough to stay up. We have 30 so only need 16 points 6 or 7 wins from out last 17 or so games will be enough regardless of if we lose tonight. We all know we are capable of losing to the worst and beating the best. there will be a lot of twists and turns yet and clubs like Plymouth , Barnsley and Blackpool are all on the wobble as well -
Doncaster on a fine run, Norwich letting slip a 2 goal lead in the previous game and a general air of doom and gloom. In true Norwich tradition we will buck the trend and win tonight. It will be a nervous run in to the end of the season but we will be ok keep positive

City View: Was draw all that bad?
Yorkshire Canary replied to carrotroad's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It was a game we could not afford to lose. before the game i would have said a draw was diappointing but not too bad given that they have taken @ 18 points away from home. Clearly being 2 nil up at HT it must in the end be viewed as 2 points dropped
