1.

Iwelumo, Morrison, Ormerod and Tyson are nothing more than OK so I suggest you stop clutching at straws. And to question whether we (I take it as in Roeder?) have not tried hard enough in getting the right man in, I''m sorry, but that''s a bit silly in my opinion.
So you don''t think any of those 4 are better than Lupoli and OJ then? If you think the club had offered the right money for the strikers available instead of trying to get everyone on the cheap we would have had a striker by now. Iwelumo would have done a massive job with Jamie, why didn''t we go for him? When I say have we tried hard enough thats a go at the boards reluctance to spend big money, Roeder can''t spend what he''s not given and thats why we''re relying on loanees and cheapies.
Definitelt not better than Lupoli, no - and he wasn''t fully fit neither! As for OJ, I think you and I both know that one game is still far too early to judge. I seem to remember you (and others) judging Ryan Bertrand after just one game - look what happened there, turned out to be quite a player didn''t he? The same with Ched Evans if I''m not mistaken. Yes, Cureton and Iwelumo were a great partnership in their Col U days - but he only made the Wolves bench today, so can you or anybody else actually guarantee that the partnership would''ve worked second time around at a different club? To answer your question re Iwelumo, maybe Roeder did try for him and was unsuccessful for whatever reason, or maybe he just wasn''t interested in him. Plus, this board of ours (and I am not ''pro-board'' in case someone gets the wrong impression) can''t give Roeder money to spend which they haven''t got can they?
 2.

But it should have been a priority back in July, Lupoli has scored 8 goals in the last 3 seasons and OJ is here to learn his trade which leaves us with Jamie who wont produce without a target man. Have we tried hard enough? Have we offered enough money? Other clubs have bought strikers so why are we finding it so difficult
, What strikers do you think Glen has missed who have gone to other clubs? Beattie? Brilliant signing but out of our league. Lisbie? Been there - no thanks. Lyle? No...... who would you have gone for cityangel?
What about Iwelumo, Morrison, Eastwood, Fitz Hall, Commons, Earnshaw, Ormeroyd or Nathan Tyson just to name a few, could one of them not done a job for us??
CA, as I understand it, Fitz Hall is a centre half and Kris Commons is a midfielder/winger. That money grabbing little so-and-so and Eastwood aren''t really what we need, and Iwelumo, Morrison, Ormerod and Tyson are nothing more than OK so I suggest you stop clutching at straws. And to question whether we (I take it as in Roeder?) have not tried hard enough in getting the right man in, I''m sorry, but that''s a bit silly in my opinion.
 3.
I''m going to have to go for JC. Don''t know why? Just a feeling I''ve got. (Maybe it was something I ate?)
The same here, although I haven''t eaten anything I shouldn''t.....yet......[pi] [+o(] [;)]
 4.
We can afford a slow start???  I cannot believe you just said that.    Some of you people deserve to be served up mid table sh*** for the next twenty years you really do.
Hardhouse, I agree and whilst I''m not ''gobsmacked'' I am disappointed. What cheers me up is how disappointed Roeder seems to be, and if he ends up signing a striker as he describes, i.e. big, strong, good goal scoring record, experienced, it will be worth the wait. I would rather wait until the end of August for the right stiker, than sign the wrong one now. This league will be tight again and as long as we aren''t way adrift like we were last season, we can afford a slow start we can make up the points. I do think Lupoli is a good exciting young prospect and I hope Koroma (?) is the same, but I agree we need experience. We have that in Curo but he certainly won''t give us 20+ goals this season without a big player beside him.

JC, I think the reason why BDU said that is because it''s a 46-game season in the Championship and also because it''s an average league as well, hence why BDU thinks it will be tight again - I certainly agree with him on that point. Anyone can go on a run in this league - the bottom teams can beat the top teams. I''m not saying that I agree that we can afford a slow start, because as much as I rate Glenn Roeder, it could have an adverse effect on the players just like it did last season. However at the moment, while I think we''ll probably just get a draw at Coventry today, I actually cannot really see us having a slow start this season - more like a steady one. I also agree with the point about the striker - it''s important that we get the right man for the job. Not just big and strong, but mobile and athletic too, someone who is just as good with the ball at his feet as well as in the air. I''m sure Roeder will get the right man for the job - at least I hope so!
 5.

Be Smart, having read your opening post (and agreeing with what you say) I notice that you''ve left out Sammy Clingan who we signed from Forest on a freebie. From what I''ve seen and from what I''ve heard, I wouldn''t be a bit surprised if he turned out to be the signing of the season. If not, then certainly an absolute bargain anyway. What do you and others think about that?
I adt Clingan is one that slips my mind alot, i''ve heard good reports about this fella aswell and Forest didn''t want him to go. Mind you we seem to make a habit of signing players from promoted clubs only for those players to underperform for us and their previous clubs go on to better things....Jarret and Hughes spring to mind.
But Hooze has joined a League One side and where is Jarrett now? You been drinking meths while in Derbyshire or something? [;)]
I know what you''re saying Mr. Carrow but, the difference is, Clingan knows about English football. And it wasn''t me who wrote that near-identical post this time last year about Brellier - unless someone can prove otherwise[:P]

 8.
Roeder said Bell was £400k, and Hoolahan was £250k, I''m pretty sure he said that is all he had spent on permanents, so I can only assume Stefanovic was a free? Obviously the loans command fees, but who knows how much.
I might be wrong here, but I have a feeling that Bell is £600k after add-ons. Stefanovich signed for an undisclosed fee.
 9.
I''m a little surprised at this news, if true - didn''t they try to sign him on loan in Feb/March, but Magilton got really angry with him as he pretty much blanked them?  He has been rather injury prone recently and didn''t set the Prem alight, but could do a job for them - so let''s hope the injury-prone bit strikes again!!
They did BP and yes Magilton did get angry and rightly so. Does anyone honestly believe that Magilton would go back in for him after how he messed that lot about back in January? Magilton definitely said something along the lines of ''he can sod off'' on BBC Radio Suffolk. I think he''s an injury-prone waste of money with an attitude problem to match. They''re welcome to him if it''s true!
 10.

If it is the youngster from Pompey ("OJ"), then that is purely out of Roeder''s hands, he''s not yet signed for Portsmouth! I''m confident we''ll see a new striker on the pitch on Saturday, I am making the effort, travelling from Bishops Stortford and taking my Grandad, hes not been to a game since the 99/00 season! KB
Exactly KB, so how can he sign for us? I will also be attending. BunnyB, you do realise that the game is at Carrow Road and not Colchester don''t you...
No because im a prat and thought it was a Colchester, what a muppet
Good job somebody said something then, you would''ve headed quite a few miles in the wrong direction. Roeder''ll get a couple of forwards in, I''m sure of that - I just hope one of them isn''t Howard, he''s not the kind of forward we really need.

 12. Usually go to Squares as one of my mates who I go with brings his little girl with him. We used to go to Brannigan''s regularly (they used to have a no kids rule) before it shut and became some other eating establishment [:(] but we''ve been known to use the Rosary, Bridge House and one or two other places once or twice [;)]
 13.
Come on guys and gals, particularly other City fans from the Lowie area, can anybody else help KeelansGlove out in his search? And Barclay_Boy of course.
15.

I don''t know for certain, but you could always give Notleys a whirl or there''s the Suffolk Punch off Westwood Avenue. You could also try The Ole Frank off Gorleston Road in Oulton Broad, that''s a good Norwich fans pub. I think the Dutchmans at the bottom of Cotmer Road has Setanta as well, why not find their numbers and give them a ring to find out in advance?
Always considered the Punch a bit of a scummers pub, have phoned the Dutchmans and they don''t have Setanta I''m afraid
You could always try The Norman Warrior off Oulton Road, then there''s the Hush bar (used to be Hanks along the seafront) - but I reckon the best bet would be Notleys to be honest. I can''t think of any other pub in Lowestoft that might have Setanta, other than those I''ve mentioned - but good luck in finding out [B]

 17. I''m glad we''ve got another centre half, temporarily at least, but I''m a little bit wary of this one after having had an eight month injury lay-off. I can''t see him seriously challenging Doc, Shacks or Stefanovich for a regular spot until January but I would of course like to be proved wrong. Hopefully, that knee of his will hold up fine. I guess Roeder didn''t want to risk him as a permanent buy or until the end of the season - we shall see how it goes for him. It might turn out really well for him, who knows? Naturally, the lad has my backing. We still need three more. An experienced keeper as back-up for Marshall and two athletic target men (not Steve Howard, please no - not for £1.25m anyway!! ).
 18. Now arrdee, you lovely sweet old boy, I really am beginning to miss your thoughtful and humourous posts on this forum and I can see that others do too - so please, please, please come back to this forum. Don''t let the minority who betrayed your trust get you down. Pleeeeeeease?[:D]
 19.

Maybe I have missed something but Lupoli scored 7 goals in 34 appearances for Derby. Why is that exciting ?
I think I''m right in saying that he spent most of his time at Derby as a left winger and that only about half of those 34 appearances were starts. I''m cautiously optimistic about this one, it seems that he lost his way a little whilst in Italy but he clearly has the potential to be a very good player judging from what I''ve heard from both Derby and Arsenal fans. Well done Glenn [Y]
My thoughts exactly, which is why I said what I did "Goddess Delia".
 20. Excellent, I''m really pleased with this signing. An Arsenal supporting mate of mine spoke to me about him Friday night when I asked about his time spent at Arsenal and he rates him highly. If he can re-discover the form that caught the eye of Wenger, and then at this level for Derby, then I''ll be extremely pleased with him. Well done Roeder on taking advice from his good friend Wenger.[:D] I''m certainly interested to see where he''ll fit in to Roeder''s strike force come August 9th, as I think he likes to come in from whichever flank he prefers to play from. As for the ''ambition'' comment, I don''t doubt for a second that Roeder has it - so does Mr Munby have something he''d like to confess to perhaps???
 21.

Brilliant. Hopefully they can; good job I have a Blackberry I wouldn''t be anything without it. I need to talk to you soon Lee something is worrying me .. Thanks [:)]
Eye man, these blackberry things are canny - thanks to Mr Doncaster for finding them in the duty free shop at such a reasonable price but you did well to get the fella to drop the price a bit for buying two at once. I will pop round to your room in a mo, just got a call to nip down to the car park. Sven the coach driver reckons there is a bloke out there who smells of Newcastle Brown and is try to drive the team coach in just his pants.  Eeeh man, its like bloody Spain all over again tonight.
ROFLMFAO [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] Keep ''em comin'' boys please!!

 24. He hasn''t officially signed for them yet! Even if he definitely does, there is absolutely no guarantee whatsoever that he''s going to score loads of goals for them next season is there? Why can''t more people take into account that the Irish leagues are of generally a very poor quality? IF he goes there (there is nothing on Stockport''s official site yet), irrespective of how much we''ve apparently offered for him, it could also be that he is not ambitious enough as a player to want to try his luck with a Championship side as opposed to a League One side.
 25.
norwich in need of a striker and wolves trying off load stephen elliot who been left out trip to scotland would you buy him? never will cut it at wolves but he has done it a few seasons ago with sunderland in this league. but saying that never really got 5games in a row for us to show us if he can or cant perform would you take risk on him for say 400-600k ???
I know we''re desperate, but we''re not that desperate!!
