1.
I''ve read lotsa posts saying that delia didn''t save the club, and some saying she did.  The whole chase saga came when I started liking football and I can''t really remember it. I started going in 96/97 and can''t remember when or what Delia might or might not have done. Pleaes could somebody explain what actually happend with Chase selling and Delia joining, whenever she did? By the way, I''m not one of the people who thinks the sun shines out of deliars bum, complete opposite in fact, I''d just like some clarification. Thx!
This has been explained a hundred times on here...but as we know...myths live on forever despite concrete evidence to the contrary. It was a cynical PR stunt engineered at the time to rally the troops behind their new leader....nothing more. If you add up the family silver still in the squad following Chase''s departure...add onto that the legacy left to the club by Geoffrey Watling...add onto that the land and other investments Smith and Co. inherited.....take way the small debt at the time of £6 million max....and there you have it. Smith never saved anything....apart from her own fading "B" celebrity status....... It''s all pure fallacy....believed by fools.
 2.

out of the ground yesturday i was amazed how many people were just laughing and joking around.
I agree with u there.. i came out of the ground muttering swear words, shaking my head....  was gutted and said so to my mate i met up with too.... too many people are just "spectators" they dont support either team, and as they cant get to old Trafford they come and see us and Laugh and joke and say "im not too bothered if Norwich win". its not good jas :)
I''ve stated before that there is now a huge divide between the spectators who attend Carrow Road on matchdays.  There are those who support "Delia''s Norwich"....and there are those who support "NCFC the football club"...... The former feel part of a select "celebrity" happening where results matter little....just as long as the status quo remains intact...whereas the latter supports the football club irrespective of who sits in the big chair and want to watch decent football for their investment. Nothing will change now until "Delia''s Norwich" is blown away......but I fear the modern Deliarites in the ground will embarrassingly cling on to power as long as they can. It''s their club right now.....and only time itself will see them off the premises.....
 3.

Devonshire Dirtbox -- welcome home and thanks for the oil. [:@] A statement like that would be more appropriately aimed at Bush and the American government, not a British soldier, or American soldier for that matter, doing their duty.
Each and every one of us on this planet are responsible for our own actions you cannot pass the blame for the wrongs you may have commited by saying that it''s ok i was only doing what the government told me! To willingly take anothers life is murder no matter what the circumstances, i have nothing but contempt for our armed forces.
Go boil your head you gutless little pacifist..... It''s a good job ten of thousands of brave soldiers now laying in their graves having fought wars to save your sorry arse didn''t think like you...... Go plant a tree...if you''re man enough for that......
 4.

I don''t have a problem with changing the board but it does beg the question if all the people who criticize them are so much better than them why are they not richer and more sucessful? In which case they could buy and run the club themselves.
I have commented before that, given the supposed perfect vision that so many posters on here seem to think they have, it is absolutely amazing that they aren''t themselves billionaires in a position to talk the talk.  It is also quite amazing how they are so willing to spend other people''s money, in this case not just a few quid but presumably £tens of millions.  Indeed, the Turners are being slated by Arthur for ''only'' giving the club £2m [it is of course only a loan, but we know that loans can be written off].   I''ve always said that if I won £5m on the lottery, I''d ''give'' £1m+ of it to the club - but when all is said and done, would I actually do that? I''d hope so, but it is all well and good saying so when you don''t have to make that decision to pretty-much throw your money away (and I am not sure that £1m would actually make that much difference to the club in this day and age)! I quite agree that the club could do with an injection of cash, maybe board needs a bit of a refresh - but surely it should only be to the right people.  It really does seem that some will settle for anything other than what we have at the moment, but the grass is not always greener, there are lots of examples where this doesn''t work (eg Stoke, when they sold to the Icelanders).  There is also a point that just because someone wants to buy into a club doesn''t a) mean they want any old club b) that they want us and c) it doesn''t follow that that we should automatically want them.
Grow up. You are entirely missing the point. Those of us with plenty of money make our choices as to what to do with it....and those who "chose" to buy out NCFC "chose" to do just that. It was not an act of charity...but a cold nosed business venture aimed at enhancing Delia Smith''s fading public profile and keeping her in the limelight.  On the whole the strategy has worked for her...and the gameplan to create "Delia''s Norwich" has hijacked our club image and detached it from it''s traditional Norfolk roots. The problem is that they are running the club like a glorified kitchen extension...the football team being the cabaret brought in to amuse the paying customers. Ever been to Spain and seen the second rate Flamenco dancers employed to give the restaurant an atmosphere? This is basically what they have done to our once proud club... There can be no excuses for what they have done...and as for spending "other people''s money"?......you''re a mile out.  They have put very little money into the core part of the business and spent club income on infrastructure to ensure their loan investment pays returns when they go. Years of gate money...years of merchandise sales...years of Premiership payments...years of transfer income...I could go on. It certainly isn''t running about on the pitch is it? You are very naive my friend if you think they have any feeling for the team or it''s supporters...as it''s all about empire building and the public perception. It has extended her career nicely in the face of challenges from the more modern tv cooks...but she has done it at the expense of NCFC and it''s over loyal followers....That for me is unforgivable......
 5. "Size isn''t everything" to coin a phrase.....it''s what you do with it that counts. City weren''t a "big club" by any stretch back in 1972....but we were credible as a football club and driven by ambition. We weren''t a "big club" under John Bond nor right through to Mike Walker...but we had drive, ambition and played good football. The big club little club issue is largely a myth......as it all boils down to those who run it....and the desire the players have on the pitch. Currently the owners of NCFCPLC are amateurs and small town Charlies....the players on the pitch cheap imports to satisfy the maths rather than win matches. Until that scenario changes there will be plenty of "small clubs" beating Norwich...because they are "bigger" than us where it matters......
 6.

I''ve never disagreed that the Board has sat on its hands whilst the Club has gone down the pan, but who - WHO? - is going to replace them? If there''s a host of investors out there with cash in hand, where are they? Please educate me, let''s have some names.    I truly believe that Smith and MWJ would happily sell up right now, but I also believe that there is no-one out there to buy the Club. Why is it that no-one''s interested?
There will most certainly be someone waiting in the wings just as soon as her majority shareholding is openly up for grabs...but until then no.
If only you were a success in your business life you could be our saviour and with your brilliance in all things shining like a beacon we''d be looking forward to some Champions League games.............. but then again.
Mmmm....my dear departed brother Cluck told me you talked out of your arse too....I''d sit down if I were you before something substantial eventually comes out..... Twit.....
 7.

Sorry but I agree with Tim, several posters on here have been posting strong anti board posts for the past month and although I appreciate that its difficult for those living out of Norfolk and those who arent shareholders to attend I believe that there are plenty of shareholders on this site who could have gone and spoken. The only people who spoke on the microphone and challenged the board in my opinion were a Beverley ( 1st question), Keith Roads and Peter Wolsey. A few  people shouted a few comments oHt but without a microphone they couldnt be heard. Always seems to me that people are brave on their pc''s but when it comes to AGM''s or fans forums ( open to everyone) where they have a chance to question the board they go missing and have to stay in to wash their hair.
Unlike you no doubt, I, and thousands of others like me, have other and more demanding calls on our money, so climb down off your bloody high horse Angel, and engage your brain before running down some fans, when you have no idea whatsoever of their incomes and expenditures. Thats disgraceful behaviour and you should know better.[:@]
Well said Wiz....and this sums up the arrogance bred by the "select" season ticket/shareholder type Smith has so cynically created. The casuals...whether they be pensioners...the low paid...the disabled or simply youngsters from less well of backgrounds have been the life blood of this club for many years...so ignore them at your peril. Before too long the upstarts who are currently claiming the moral high ground at NCFC will be left in the lurch by their celebrity icon....at which point they will need those they currently look down their noses at. I''m afraid CA has shown her true colours far too often....and she sums up much that is wrong with the mentality at CR in 2007.
There are plenty of ''casual'' tickets available try going down on a matchday and you''ll be able to get a buy back ticket. Whenever my brother visits Norwich he always manages to get a ticket and that includes derby matches. Cluck is becomming the Sultan of Spin.
More apologist rambling which is becoming embarrassing to read......let alone write. Run along and play with the turnips....as you are obviously way out of your depth. NEXT.....
 8. Mello Yello (The Original) Do you think we are actually financially deeper in the poop - than the Chief Exec and the board are actually letting on? There''s Gunny in the dug-out shufflin'' papers, Dion suited and booted sitting among the subs, will there be room for Jerry Goss to cosy up in there next home game - and when can we see Delia in the dug-out? How long before Munby is appointed Head Chef in Delia''s? (makes a mean cheesy peas) Do you think the board have pencilled in Duffy and Gunny till the end of the season, because we can''t really afford anything else? Just a few serious questions, that require serious answers.....NOW! Anyone else have any serious questions?[:|]   Ironic that those who sheepishly praise Smith for "saving" our club are now standing idly by while she finishes off the job Chase began all those years ago. This hasn''t just happened by chance and is the result of a decade or so of poor leadership. If we''re up the creek now...where on earth would we have been without the Prem. money and income from player sales to save their arses? Reading between the lines...and looking at the evidence....we are certainly deeper in the mire than Smith and Co. are prepared to admit. Enter Turner to try and smooth over the cracks..............
 9.

A quite pointless and stage managed event, I''ve wasted my time and money on five seperate occassions, on similar City forums.............no more!. My cash stays in my back pocket from now on!.[:|]
Sorry Wiz but you just sound like a bottler, even the most ''stage managed'' public event can turn against those who are managing it. The question is to you and the other keyboard warriors is do YOU care enough?
As long as clowns like you continue to perform the circus will stay in town...... Another embarrassing attempt to once again defend the indefencible.....and sooooo out of touch with reality. Almost sad in a quirky kind of way........
 10.
it''s too difficult to say, what I enjoy reading depends on what mood i''m in, sometimes people write some intelligent stuff and other times they just have a laugh. I think it would be easier to state who my least favourite poster is (but i''m not saying - It don''t think my choice would be unique!). My biggest laugh was Clucks moderator avatar recently, shame he got told off for it mind!
If Delia...(I mean Celia) hadn''t chased me around the board like she did it wouldn''t have been half as amusing...but I''m sure the mods enjoy a quiet chuckle just as much as the rest of us.....and I''m guessing she got her leg pulled about it. All harmless stuff.         [:)]
 11.
Sooooooooo....you don''t put your house on the market until someone knocks on your door wanting to buy it? The Delia "saviour" myth has planted the seed of fear into the minds of many fans who in ordinary life are afraid of change and upheaval. There will most certainly be someone waiting in the wings just as soon as her majority shareholding is openly up for grabs...but until then no. At the AGM apparently she was still trotting out the "you should be grateful to have me" line...which for anyone with any intelligence translates to "I''m in control...so stuff you"....... It purely mind games....nothing more.
 12.
How did you manage to get a -2 on your posts? Thought i was on ebay then
Luvved it TwoSheds!            [:D]
 13.
Having listened to the game today on the Radio Norfolk I think that Jim Duffy should be given the job full time. The important thing is that in the first half we played some nice football and had all sorts of chances, which the lads were right unlucky with. He know what needs to be done - and he know all the players. I don''t think someone like Jewel would be able to do any better - and how much would he cost us! Besides it would take him a few weeks to know all the positions the players can play - Duffy already knows all of that, like the way he was able to put Murray at left back. So, all you supporters should stop moaning and get behind Duffy, Delia, Doncaster and the team! I would be singing away, only I don''t get to too many games as I live in Attleborogh and it is a way to come. All this talk of relegation is just plain silly. Wouldn''t surprise me to hear about us whipping up the league under Jim Duffy - the playoffs or even top two aren''t beyond the reach of players like Lappin and the Jarvis boys. So come on City. As Delia would say, let''s be ''avin you!
Ahhh how cute.... Makes you feel like wrapping him up in fwuffy cotton wool and setting fire to him doesn''t it?
 14.
I''ve avoided the debates for a while because they are so depressing. I could have gone to the game today but have just got home from the City with other plans in mind - guess I''m losing my religon although the sight of supporters in shirts did tug at me a little. The following is what my gut instinct tells me: Duffy will be a more relaxed personality than the overly intense Grant. Duffy will play it simpler. Hartson, if only for his personality will lift players around him. We will beat Bristol City. The manager hunt charade will go on. This group of players will show they are better than league position and performances to date. With a freshened up mentality City will go on a run of decent results with improved performances. Duffy will either get the Managers job or be the new No.2. I suspect he will get the job. Players will play for Duffy because they like the guy - he doesn''t treat them like juveniles. Players will also play for Duffy because he will be more likely to secure their futures than a new manager. Duffy will get a contract until the end of the season. Gunn will be appointed Duffy''s assistant. Crook may be offered the coaching role.
My dear departed brother Cluck told me you talked out of your arse.....He wasn''t far out was he?.....
 15.
..and if he declared himself unfit and declined to play when the manager picks him his detractors would have a field day.   He can''t win. He''s selected but plays below par because of injury (just shows how poor the squad are that makes this necessary) or he refuses to play. Where there''s Huckerby...there''s hope. Without him, we''re hopeless.
Remember your school days when you worked harder for a teacher you liked as opposed to one you had no respect for? Also ditto in the workplace?........ Hucks is not a Norfolk lad and owes no alliegence to the City at all....However he above all others has given this club genuine value for money over a long period...and to think Smith and Co. were prepared to miss out on him due to the "prudence" card. Without him there would have been no league title...and no Premiership money. Be grateful.
 16. Mello Yello (The Original) In Layman''s Terms. The club don''t pursue or look for outside investment.......because they don''t really want to. It is just excuses to keep hold of the reins and control of the club.....(in my opinion). Have they got something to hide......Who Knows?   In a nutshell......It''s Delia''s trainset and no-one else gets to play with it unless she says so.... She is likely to leave in tears every bit as reviled as Chase.
 17. The joy of being a Norfolk man/woman is that we are able to make our own decisions (generally speaking) based on our perception of the situation... Mr. Fluffy should leave his "clan" mentality back home in Scotland where he belongs....as it don''t work hereabouts....
 18.

Looks like CA and her nurse are putting on a united front with this one...... Why would I waste my time fighting for folk like you two eh?  I''d sooner boil my nipples in vinegar.......
Seems to me Cluck that you''re not fighting for anything but your own ego!  Why not give us all some positive advice on how to progress or protest or do you spend too much time of your school lunch break drawing crap cartoons.  Happily boil your nipples in vinegar for you if you forward me a contact address!
If my nipples are indeed to be boiled.....I will be the one to do it.  It is something I practice regularly at weekends...so the pleasure will remain strictly mine I assure you.. In reply I suggest you try blowing your own horn in private if you are so short of reasonable dialogue......
 19. I understand the original viewpoint...but maybe it should have remained a "private" thought and not made public? I too wished for things to conspire against Grant as I had zero faith in where he was taking us...but now I tend to feel it really doesn''t matter either way. We are a million miles away from any sort of success..so avoiding the drop come May is NCFCPLC''s only target this season. If we end up mid table I fear that this will be viewed as a "success" by the Board and manager (plus the usual suspects on here)...so "no change" would be the club''s strategy going forward. For me relegation however unsavoury is the only quick and sure way to clear out those who are strangling this club...as survival would simply bring about more calls for "time" and a chance to "rebuild". A decade is quite long enough to show if you''re capable of doing the job....and given that time they have failed miserably. If by losing it would bring about changes in the Boardroom...then in the short term I agree. If however Smith would rather see the club die before letting go....it really doesn''t matter any more.
 20.

why dont you all just keep slagging him off on here and force our ONLY decent player left away aswell you see wheree we would be without him LEAGUE ONE
really???? every game we have won, and every goal we have scored this season have come without Darren Huckerby on the pitch.... we changed a succesful set up to accomodate him and are now at the wrong end of the table.. where would we be without him? some might say Higher up the league.... Food for thought isnt it? jas :)
THIS SEASON perhaps...but I wonder how well you would perform given a hapless clown to lead you? Aren''t you forgetting the pre-Grant days when he carried us game after game...or are they now just the "good old days"? I''m surprised at you jas as I thought you were a little bit more stable.......
 21. Looks like CA and her nurse are putting on a united front with this one...... Why would I waste my time fighting for folk like you two eh?  I''d sooner boil my nipples in vinegar.......
