1.

I know the argument will be "we had to replace the South stand" but even that is a very debatable point.
The South Stand would not have passed another safety inspection, under any circumstances.  Not replacing it would have left us with a capacity of approx.18 thousand.  8000 seats *  20 per seat = 160,000 per game. 160,000 per game * 43 league matches  = 6,880,000 per season ?  Nearly 7 million pounds per season is a lot of money to miss out on.
Will there be further costs associated with the Hotel, phase three land development etc
The costs of the Hotel will belong to the Hotel, which the club have a 30 % share in.  The current land price inflation will ensure that any extra property development will easily make a profit. You have a lot of questions Mr Carrow, and I can''t help but feel that you''re not addressing those questions to people that are best placed to answer them.  The official site forum has a "questions for the club" section, or you can drop Neil Doncaster himself an email.
Have you any proof of your South Stand assertion Blah? My memory is that the club said that it was costing more and more to get the stand up to scratch to pass the safety inspection each season and that justified the cost of a replacement. Would a local council have financially crippled its highest profile organisation by closing its biggest stand? I very much doubt it. I will be asking Doncaster some questions in the Q and A, but i can probably tell you95% of what the answers will consist of right now. Costs related to the Hotel are mentioned in the accounts and the stated profit on the initial £1.1million deal was £400k. There may well be ongoing costs that the club are obliged to pay. Do you know that there are not? Overall, the bigger picture points to the off-pitch stuff draining huge amounts away from the team, not providing money to invest.
So you actually think we could''ve left the South Stand indefinitely?
 2.

''Someone who supports or champions something'' Quite simply....., if the above is not applicable to you then why bother posting on here?
Yes, and i`m sure the true Leeds fans were supporting and championing Ridsdale as he ran their club into the ground........
Not the bloody Leeds example again!?! [;)]
 3. It does Shack, and I completely agree with what you''re saying. That said, for whatever reason, we simply don''t get enough games out of him. WEEN''s stats make interesting reason:
Safri 3 seasons       71 starts Holt 4 seasons       175 starts
But then you can''t guarantee getting 46 performances from any player can you.
 4. I think this deserves a bump. We have a lot of "''6 in, 6 out'' we''re screwed" posts fliying around at the moment. Yet only Watford have a bigger playing squad. Which presumably means we actually had quite a large squad last season. The difference, in my opinion, is that mot many of those players were good enough. I''m hopeful (but obviously not yet convinced) that the changes made so far this summer will change this. It is not that we simply need the bodies people. This said, I do believe players that now leave (not loans out) will need to be replaced, and we still need another centre back.
 5.
Shouldn''t NCFC be about football ???? Isn''t the idea of  playing a game to win ????? I think that is what you will find fans want to see............ I would ask you this, has all the Ernie money been spent ? If, not why ??? Last season we were told part of the reason for the lack of success was a "paper thin" squad. Now there has been, so far, 6 out & 6 in..... So where is the increase there ?????  Don''t get me wrong, I am not in the Smudger camp (yet). I am prepared to see what results we get at the begining of the new season, BUT should it all go wrong there will be some questions to answered.
I think the squad size issue has been raised on other threads. I believe we had the bodies last season, but not very many of them were good enough. Lots of dead wood, little competition. Only Watford have a bigger squad than us at present. The only difference is more of those 30+ players will be in contention for a starting place.
 6.

The fact that they pick on the way you have worded your article speaks volumes Arthur... They realise that they are now standing in the corner of a a dumb chef who is clinging to the ropes. Grant''s artcile in the papers today about us "keeping our pwder dry" speaks volumes about where this club is heading under the current directors... we have not even spent the Earnshaw money yet for gods sake!!! It is an utter disgrace and thoroughly embarrassing that so many have fallen for it yet again. Safri will be on his way next week and yet another £1.5million or so will disappear down the mysterious black hole that exists within the corridors of Carrow Road. There is one word for the way our club is being run and that is DISGUSTING!!!!
If you read the other thread on Arthur''s letter, you''ll realise plenty of people are picking on the many holes in his arguement (as it is a minority viewpoint). And Smudge, please sit down, take a breath, and read what PG says in the story - and I mean read it. Stop spinning it and getting yourself in a het up muddle, because 2+2=74 at the moment.
It may equal 74 to you confused individuals mbncfc... It is quite clear what it says to me... ie - another couple of freebies or loanees may be brought in once the season has got under way and prior to the transfer window closing. I think you will find that is the infamous CR Spin machine telling us in no uncertain terms that there is no money there (and that we are not even likely to see the rest of the money that they have recieved for the Earnshaw transfer let alone anything else). Of course I may be wrong... I am still waiting for the board to put PGTA''s £3million to £4million in to the transfer kitty (as suggested only a few weeks ago) hohoho!!! I told you that we had NO MONEY TO SPEND then... and it is looking increasingly likely that I have ben proved right... yet only one person (RICARDO) seems to have acknowledged this. Are you satisfied if no more money is spent and we do not even spend what we received for Earnshaw mbncfc? oh I must say that loan players do not count as far as I am concerned... Robert Earnshaw was not a loanee!!! If the board want to bring loan players in then this must come out of their own pockets!!!
No confusion here. It seems we''ve had around £6m in total to spend after the transfers in so far, and I believe we''ve already spent £3m of it. So, I think that leaves £3m still to spend (all made up of course, because no one on this site knows). Peter Grant has openly stated he will be looking to strengthen our midfield and defence before the transfer window shuts. (It is what the article actually states from PG''s mouth, rather than the headline which was written by the sub editor.) I don''t expect that money to be spent for the sake of it, or to appeasing a few fans on here. Ricardo sees your side, but then I disagree with both of you. The proof/fact/whatever you like to call it will be in the results and no-one will be right or wrong until then. I will be satisfied if we bring in another centre back, and then anyone else who leaves is replaced. To me it is more about the players who come in than the money we spend. Kevin Doyle - a monkey presumably of you only pay £75,000 in peanuts. And correct. Robert Earnshaw was not a loanee. The ''We have no money to spend'' is something you''ve assumed from a story which actually says something completely different. It''s good to be skeptical. But this is a little bit like a groom who gets jilted at the alter when he''s 18 and spends the next 45 years running scared of every girl that moves.
 7.

In my opinion we have barely strengthended our squad, yet Grant is already making noises that our summer spending is over (when we haven''t even spent the money we received for Earnshaw). I hold to what I say that Leicester and Coventry will both finish above us next season.
I''ll take that as a bet.
Yeah if you gancy taking it mbncfc??? We all know that these so called bets on here have little likelihood of actually going through though don''t we? How many of us are likely to get in touch with an alias that we have never have never met from off the internet and say that I am just calling to get your details so that I may pay that £100.00 that I owe you? Probably not even 1% of the people on here would do that would they? Maybe I am just being cynical again?  Who knows???  [*-)]
No no, I think that''s probably about right. I think you''ve made about 17 bets on next season so far. I hope you''re keeping count, because I''m not! That said, I did make a bet with Alex_ncfc that we''d get in a replacement for Earnie if we sold him. He owes me a cyber-beer. But I certainly believe we will finish above one of Leicester and Coventry next season. Maybe both with a bit of potential fulfilling.
 8. Apparently, this is a link to a YouTube clip of the chant (although I can''t check it here): www.youtube.com/watch?v=or0dgd6WtCU&mode=related&search= Make it so.

 12.

I saw a post demanding my services, so here i am [:O] Clemence deal is almost done and will be a superb signing, he was Birmingham''s player of the season last year. We''ve signed 21 year old Iranian international winger Kaebi and its the most exciting signing of the lot, he already has 51 caps and was named in the Top 10 young players in the world a during the last world cup and has just been waiting for an English club to give him a chance. And by the way - Kishishev is a central midfield player, not a defender. Hendrie, Lisbie and Morfaw have been training with us this week and are playing in a few games today against Kettering and another club. My personal views on the signings are below - Exciting - Kaebi, Clemence if he signs. Solid - N''Gotty, Chambers, Kishishev. Unproven but could be good buys - Nielsen, Sappleton, Hayes, Hellings Risks that could turn out badly - Cort, question marks over fitness but no doubt a good player. Newton, few good performances last year but will be back-up. I found it quite ironic that some of your fans are slagging us off for signing unknowns but your unknown are full of quality arn''t they? 1 post stated the Norwich signings are full of quality, really? - a free transfer from Hearts, an unknown Czech striker, of course you have all seen him play many times, a lad from Rochdale and an over-priced Cureton.
oh you forgot to mention that we have let 7 players go also mate!!! You have to take it with a pinch of salt and laugh really don''t you FOXILE??? While Leicester have let 4 or 5 go, they have also brought in 11 replacements (and that is rumoured to only be the tip of the iceberg). Norwich however let 7 players to go (it seems that Safri is on his way also... so you could make that 8) and have so far brought in 6 (and we seem to be running out of ideas). Not really difficult to judge who is going to make the bigger leap forwards if only our fans would take off the yella & green goggles for a few minutes is it???  [:D]
Agreed Smudge. The fact we let Thorne, Louis Jean, Henderson and Andrew Fisk go has really left a hole in the squad which needs plugging.
Please tell me that that''s a joke...
[:D]
 13. Goos post Shyster. I think it definitely points to which teams are seriously rebuilding. I wonder how a similar table from this time last year would have compared to the eventual league standings?
 14.
id just like to point out that emergency loans are not permitted anymore. football league clubs can only get players on loan during transfer windows and they cant be short term deals either, they have to go right thru to at least a transfer window, ie minimum 5-6 months.
Is this right? No more 1 month loan deals at all?
 15. Emilsvob posted this on the official site, and I think it''s a great idea to chant this at Carrow Road and make Dave feel properly welcome - as well as making it clear why he''s here. And no, I don''t have a clue how it is pronounced.     Right if you need a chant for David here is one he will respond to. my chceme gol!! You say it like this, MIK-TSEMEE-GOL. This is the big football chant in Czech football and translates to "give us a goal" & would be an instant hit with Strihavka, so get people chanting it. ceška kanárek     Anyone willing to make this happen? Or any other ideas on how to make Dave welcome?
 16. I know they are only videos, but I don''t get this ''he can''t reall pass'' thing. He clearly has the technique to pass a football accurately. It could be he is a complete mixture of Holty and Safri. Or he could be pants. We shall see.
 17. You see, I''m not convinced about blaming PG or the club for all this specualtion. PG has said he wants to keep him, but made a pretty sharp remark about him being away and possibly representatives seeing what they could sort out. Could it be Safri is wanting to leave? Another point is, considering the number of people who think Safri makes the team tick, this is the first mention that we should renew his contract. Even though it expires next summer. If he stays, great. If he goes, we need another midfield body. There we are.
 18.
It''s ''bin'' quite funny watching the binners over exciting themselves about this money. Sadly our cockney wannabe neighbours haven''t quite worked out what a parlous state their ''third world club'' is in. Despite making some payments to their loans they have seen the debt rising year on year. This is spite of desperate attempts to cutback as much as possible - even sacking their kitman/driver. Unfortunately it is not possible to cutback on contracts which have to be honoured. Bit by bit these eventually fall of the balance sheet as the higher earners depart Poorman Road. If you look at their recent acquisitions they have all been lower league hopefuls or injury prone misfits. Yet here was a ''windfall'' that should have signalled a few signings to bolster their meagre squad. But as yet none. Neither will there be. The binners have seen another drop in season ticket sales, somewhere in the region of 3,000, with many of the adults tickets being replaced by kids tickets. Even the dumbest of dumb binners should twig that this amounts to a £1m or so in lost revenue. Neither are there any sales from transfers (as yet) or any share money as of last summer. So how are they going to balance the books ? Cutback on spending ie no new players. Looks like it. And/or raise money by selling. Also looks likely with Lee going. With up to eight player''s contracts ending next June there''s every certainty that they will have to try to cash in on at least one or two more. Possibly not old donkeys like Faylior and Winless but certainly others. With the impending need to keep cutting costs there is no room to offer decent contracts to keep their best players. Be under no illusion either about the mythical write down or impending investor. There is nothing to invest in. No ground or assets to secure their investment against. As to the suggestion that they have NU by the short and curlies that is farcical. Who would lose the most were the binners to go bust ? NU, nope. The value of their assets fluctuates that much daily. Imagine that you owe the bank a large amount and declaring that unless they reduced the amount drastically you would shoot yourself - then how would they get the money ! That''s who has the most to lose. They''ve no option but to continue to dance to the tune of their creditors. But fear not, all is not doom and gloom. His Lordship, the crimson faced toff, managed to shove a nice fat bonus into his pocket last summer, despite them losing another £3m and a few others managed to shove another £100,000 in bonus into their accounts as well. Any wonder that Jeffers is happy to stay in the stiffs at Blackburn , Plug prefers to play second fiddle to Green at West Ham and the only hope the binners now have is Manuel the collapsing Spaniard. You would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh !
That, Ralph, is beautiful. I heap many, many kudos points upon your good self.

I agree with Shack that De Zeeuw would have been a good signing for us, but I don''t believe it was practical as Dublin was already at the club. Two 37+ year-olds is a luxury we can''t really afford. Leicester will improve I''m sure, but I''m not convinced they''ll challenge. As for us, our signings may be unknown to most but they have good pedigree, come with good words from those who HAVE seen them play, and should improve the balance and ability of the squad. So I think we''ll improve too (which we have to, of course). The only question in both cases is by how much.
 20.
And do you like my Avatar. I did it today.
What, literally? [;)]
 21.

The "Dave The Striker" chant has GOT to be sung along to "Bob The Builder" tune... [:)]
Indeed. Well ahead of you: http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/972372/ShowPost.aspx Although, the chant comparing him to Fleck is funny too.
damn you mb.  I haven''t been able to get that out of my head since you suggested it.  It''s up there with the Parsnip song. Imagine a corner at the Barclay end;  15,000 voices. Dave the Striker can he head it? Dave the Striker Yes he can. Would that freak out a defence or what? And then Hucks scores!!!!
You know it makes sense. Is it me, or does he look a little like Gareth from The Office at the press conference? Dave the Striker would definitely be on the back of my shirt, if it wasn''t for the fact it would completely jinx him.
 22. I think what we will do next season is mix it up. PG was busy fannying around changing things left, right and centre with a bunch of players who couldn''t really cope. This season he has busily armed himself with players who do different things to what we already have. That balance and flexibility will help PG get results from his instructions and be our most dangerous weapon next season. At least I guess that is the plan.
 23.
I do look forward to hearing Sir Roy of Waller trying to pronounce his name. And we also have Counargi to look forward too as well this season with the diving fool signing for the blue lot down the road again. I''m going to predict Roy going for Stikhavya or something similar and not correcting himself despite everyone else getting it right = P Good ol'' Roy
Good old Roy. He did well to survive Paul Pescerlleedo really.
 24.
Our new striker Dave. Could be written on the back of our lovely jerseys: Dave STRI drop the hav KA What have we got Dave STRI hav KA Have some of that!!!!! Strika the Striker I Thank You!
Now this is the kind of crazy dedication I like. Keep up the good work [Y]
