  1. fantastic to get off to a winning start with the new regime, hopefully we can get an unbeaten run going now! To replace Farke Life tune we need to get behind Dexys Midnight runners ‘Geno’ tune - ‘Oh Deano’ would be very simple but cracking on the back of a victory
  2. Best appointment we could have made (given our resources and league position) and more hopeful of seeing us get some results and showing more steel in defence under the new regime. knutsen, Favre etc are all unknown gambles. I would also say Lampard would be given he never brought Derby to the prem and then went on to manage Chelsea Unbelievable he will first be facing the team he last faced as Villa manager !
  3. I do agree with this to an extent - Webber has flopped big time with the signings but still think it’s gone too far with Farke and we need a nee voice in the hot seat. The players, despite their best endeavours have tried numerous formations, tactics of Farke but it’s all heading in the wrong direction. Rashica has glimpses but given he was involved in relegation recently then he is hardly bringing winning mentality any time soon. williams and Gilmour to be recalled in January Sargeant - will be lucky to get 5 goals never mind the 15-20 we need Tzolis- needs more opportunities but we can’t be putting too much expectation on him Normann and Kabak - seem to be best business we have done but came in too late in transfer window PLM - despite encouraging pre season, the prem is too much class for him and he is increasingly ineffective at this level Gunn - clearly understudy to Tim until his contract expires so all in all, 1 possibly 2 signings are demonstrating that they have added to our squad, the rest have been poor especially for the £50m total outlay . And worst of all, these 1/2 best signings are only on loan so ain’t likely to be around behind this season !
  4. I do recall Webber’s interview saying something along the lines of if it’s a narrow loss where we have hit the bar like 5 times it would be seen as a step in right direction and would demonstrate the players, staff etc couldn’t do any more. well after today , especially last 30 minutes the Leeds keeper might as well have put his feet up. He and the leeds defence where there for the taking and we were totally bereft of ideas and confidence. Pukki is just not the quality required anymore and the other 2 options are not good enough. something has to change - even if it means relegation then at least everyone including the fans would accept that we tried a change in management and it either works or it doesn’t. We just cannot carry on with Farke. I am intrigued to see what he means about training and his role to find more end product quality from his players. He has had long enough to do this and set the tactics to succeed , we are instead looking increasingly clueless
  5. Xisco Munoz ,unfairly dismissed at watford IMO and if we went down then at least he has some championship pedigree. Seemed to get their younger players motivated and turned them into a very good side. 2 wins as well from his opening 7 matches, not a bad start at all. if we have to go with short term out and out experience to give us best shot of staying in league then it has to be Roy Hodgson
  6. The players confidence is at rock bottom and at this time the only way they can believe there is a way out of this is to genuinely believe in the manager and his tactics that if applied we can start getting wins and climbing the table. Psychologically the players heads have gone with Farke and they just don’t buy into his tinkering with formation and personnel. yes nobody expected a result yesterday but we cannot be looking like an under 18 team against champions league winners. I am gutted that it has come to this with such a great guy and manager who has undoubtedly done more long term good than bad for this club. But the time is up and he needs a fresh start elsewhere as much as we do. The question of who would replace him is clearly getting debated on other posts on this forum. The person who would add some fire and organisation and can be relied upon in the championship would be Wilder. Failing that the guy who recently left watford wouldn’t be a bad shot. agree with others- Lampard, Howe won’t be interested. hodgson and Bruce are in retirement mode and don’t fit the clubs long term mould. Same goes for Allardyce, Pulis etc.
  7. As great a manager Farke has unquestionably been for us, it is in the best interest of the club to be parting ways. This is all now psychological ; the players still have the not too distant memories of how our previous prem league outing went and the team still has a lot of the same personnel. Unfortunately it’s gone too far where there isn’t the belief that they are good enough to be here and no matter whether we are attack or more reserved in formation, we are still off the pace
  8. Disappointing but watford to be fair at the start of the season I feel would finish comfortably in mid table. Last season they were powerful on the counter especially with Sarr and our new players are still gelling and even get up to speed with prem football. Judge it after 12 games - we need minimum 3 wins and a draw to get us back on track
  9. Not counting the Bournemouth game - Leicester next weekend. Back Sargeant to now start ahead of Pukki - again his late cameo demonstrated what his pace and general physicality will give us over Pukki. Unfortunately Pukki looks to be past his purple patch and simply isn’t the right selection when we are up against the bigger teams. agree with a lot of posts that in these types of games we need to be having pace and wingers on the field - Tzolis for a start and Hernandez would have been ok albeit he is rather unpredictable when on the ball ! 36 games left to go , we need 12 wins and a couple of draws, we can do this
  10. Hopefully it hasn’t put Brandon Williams off joining on loan and based on Dimitris performance today and being left on till half time to not embarrass him too much (as per farke post March interview ), you can now see that Williams will quickly be getting himself into starting left back position
  11. Adarabioyo looking decent for Fulham against Millwall. Composed on the ball and comfortable stepping up and spraying the ball out wide and long accurate passes into the front 3. I feel this is the one we should be pursuing given it works within our apparent £10m per player ceiling price
  12. A lot of posts already about yesterday’s result but we seriously do need a reality check and sense of perspective. We would have all loved a shock win or a point out of the game but for me we certainly didn’t disgrace ourselves. key points for me are:- 1. We have had a lack of pre season due to covid for match fitness, trying different personnel together and formations 2. new players and a tweaked formation - we need time to bed this in 3. having to readjust to not being the dominant possession based attacking team like our previous championship season when up against the calibre of opposition like liverpool 4. liverpool are an unbelievable team and on their day they can simply turn over teams and inflict a heavy result. 3-0 defeat wasn’t heavy 5. we kept going , showed spirit and should have reduced the deficit to 2 goals 6. it’s a 38 game season - for us to survive in the prem we need 13/14 victories which is achievable 7. the window isn’t shut yet - we remain active for a CB and CDM which will undoubtedly help to plug some of our shortcomings yesterday all in all let’s forget about yesterday and move on, there are no easy games in this league so let’s stop the negativity and look forward to the next game !
  13. In need of quicker center half that’s better with ball at feet , easier said than done. looked more physical with Idah and sargeant on. I wonder whether eventually we will have sargeant on right wing and Rashica on the left with Cantwell in the number 10 position and Idah up top. agree centre mid needed to take Rupp place First game of the season though let’s not carried away, we certainly look a better team compared to last time but we need early momentum
  14. https://www.footballfancast.com/norwich-city-transfer-rumours/exclusive-steve-howey-advises-norwich-to-sign-free-agent-andy-carroll-e231 lazy journalism here, Steve Howey purely touting about a fellow Geordie in Andy Carroll. Having said that on a pay as you play deal and being more powerful in holding up the ball and headers in the box he would be a better option than Hugill
  15. Can’t see Southampton paying £25m for him so would have to be cash plus squad player deal. so we are rumoured to be £15m + Idah , well this will all become apparent one way or the other in the next 24 to 48 hours. Southampton do have a keen interest in Edouard at Celtic so maybe they may pursue him in advance of Armstrong ?
  16. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/exclusive-southampton-closing-in-on-deal-for-blackburn-man-as-danny-ings-replacement/ looking like a 2 horse race just hope we have been doing a lot more in the background to have the edge on Southampton
  17. Think Southampton will still be in for Armstrong, more so now that Ings has moved on
  18. Not a surprise he is out on loan but with option of permanent transfer , I think it’s fair to say we won’t be seeing him in an NCFC shirt again. Shame but I trust the judgement that he isn’t up to the mark. Imagine Sitti will be next out
  19. Sinani and Sitti undoubtedly to be sent out on loan and hard to make a case right now that they are going to make a breakthrough and being anywhere close to the first team match day squad
  20. Wouldn’t be surprised to see us in for Harrison Reed - clearly a player Farke liked when we had him on loan. Now 26 with prem experience - according to the Daily Mail Leeds are leading the race to sign him . If we can’t get Skipp back then this for me would be a good signing
  21. Latest Buendia replacement rumour courtesy of the Sun, Noberto Briasco Argentinian born winger but representing Armenia. £3.2m but never played European football let alone English football, surely if we do sign it’s to be a squad player !
  22. Saw on today’s article summarising rumoured signings to date and Deulofeu if true would for me be a great signing and would help to fill the Buendia hole in my opinion
  23. Agreed definitely best avoiding signing this player, at his age, attitude and salary demands it would be crazy to pay him 60k a week. on to hopefully better younger striker targets!
  24. https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-norwich-city-pull-the-plug-on-king-pursuit-after-talks/ king deal off after we balked at his £60k per week salary demands
