  1. I''m coming more and more to the opinion that ''we'' deserve what we get. By ''we'' I mean you - the ... oh I cannot be bothered any more. Desperate.
  2. What kind of self respecting binner would suggest something that is exactly what the club needs. I would be far more suspicious of those who would argue against it. I have no idea whether its genuine or not, but if it is I would suggest that you didn''t bother when there are pr*cks like these to come back at you.
  3. The response to the original post typifies why this forum is of no consequence except to show why the typical City fan is as equally culpable as Delia as to why we are where we are.  A very real and reasonable concern is treated with unsupported derision by those who believe it’s the responsibility of a fan to give unquestioning obedience.  Look at history to tell you where that gets you.  Whatever the season brings no City fan should be happy right now, if they are happy they are either in touch with their future self or deluded.  Fact (and in any responses at least refer to this) Delia has lied to us, and in no way considered it necessary to justify it.  Likewise after Man City when she made us all like idiots.  She thinks she is beyond question, and you lot are to blame. You deserve what you get, unfortunately there are a lot of us who deserve something better. Clint – I wouldn’t waste your breath.
  4. Sorry Adam, you are symptomatic of our demise, and I suspect (and hope) you''re not a major part of our team again. Nothing against him personally but he is a poor full back and a poorer captain. The Pink un is bigging up his recovery, when, typical of our local journelists, who, in the absence of anything else to write, bang on whilst missing the point that we''re so obviously better off without him.  Any succesful team needs two full backs who, at the very least deliver crosses now and again or otherwise contribute in an attacking sense. Anyone who has seen him play know this does not happen (and conceivably never has). No more acceptance because he''s a nice falla. Same goes for the rest of them.  We have a manager who knows his stuff.  Drury will not play a meaningful part again.
  5. Allways the last ditch excuse for any manager (or supporter) with no other excuse to give. It''s a boll*cks excuse, and simply holds no water. There''s always another team with more money. Simple facts: We''ve had more money than 50% of the teams in the division. We get bigger gates than 90% of the teams in the divison, and we''re fourth bottom and deservedly so. Get personal, get abusive, do whatever it takes, board and manager out now, it will get nasty, it will get worse but it has to happen for the longer good. We all know Delia''s clueless, I used to love her, but her anonimity only goes to show her contempt. Her attitude deserves comtempt in response. Forget the good she''s done, it''s of no relevance now. Time for a new beginning and a big broom.
  6. Evidently two views on Brown. Either didn''t do enough or one of our best. Given that he did not have one cross to meet all game I thought he was our MoM, if not for effort alone. Drury - we need to get rid of old loyalties and get rid of him. Offers absolutely nothing but high balls to Cureton! Lappin - left back. Croft - only interested when the goings good. Otsembor - always offers something and always has the pace to make a difference unlike Drury. Cureton - different class finishing. Doherty - must be hounded out of town as soon as possible, if it makes it too uncomfortable for Grant to play him then so be it.
  7. Groins are funny things. Can take a long time with not much happening.
  8. If booing gets him out of the team it''s worth doing. He''s an utter liability  - hit the bar - missed a sitter. Horribly at fault (twice) for the attack that led to the goal from the corner. Anyone but will do a better job. If Grant cannot see it we''ll have to do his job for him. The sooner he''s out of the team the better and if hounding him out is the way to go then so be it.  As when supporter power finally got rid of Worthy for the greater good the same should apply to Donkey. Boo on
  9. Another one for Andy Townsend. Presenter of the play-off final programme, not once did he even mention that he had ever played for us. Not that we made your career or anything Andy.
  10. He''s an utter liability. Always the wrong side, so always struggling, so giving away fouls on the edge of the box left right and centre, which admittedly may not be quite so costly with Gallagher out of the way, still we conceded more free kick goals last season than I can ever remember. Puts the frighteners up Shackell (needs a good start or he''s out too) and has an unearing ability to do a Braveheart on the Friday in the Pink un only to be a shambles the following day (please editors ignore him next season). Loved him when he came on at Man U in his first game and nearly got us a draw and then did so at Newcastle. All downhill from there however. Got us relegated when against Spurs at home in trying to keep out their second goal on Boxing Day injured both Bentley and Saffri. Our disastrous run followed. Unlucky or clumsy? If only someone would put in a bid, any money we got for him would be a bonus. Centre half could be the last piece in the jigsaw to a good season, but possibly also the most important.
  11. We get it from our politicians and we now get it all the time from our football club. You cannot spin this - season ticket sales are down yes less takers yes lower numbers yes a downward trend yes less than before. But it''s good news apparently. What do they take us for? If they treat us with this contempt then I suggest they be treated in the same way. A little honesty please.
  12. Perhaps no surprise when I see that Doherty had a previous match war-cry. It has been noted before that when he has something to say on the Friday it all goes t*ts-up on the Saturday. Plea to any hacks viewing - ignore anything he has to say, or else when he does have a go, get your mortgage on the opposition. It smacks of Flintoffs and Fletchers complete inability to comprehend the scale of the situation and the embarrassment they are. Sunday Div 3B players would be dissapointed at hoofing it off into the nearest river like he did against Tamworth, but Doherty trotted back into his position thinking he''d done a good job. Utter disgrace. Today I hear he dived in to give away one of the free-kicks which our equally inadequate keeper failed to deal with. Quelle surprise! It may seem I''m singling him out, but then I am. We have to start somewhere.
  13. I''m sick of hearing from Doherty every couple of weeks. Don''t whether it''s inspired by him or if he''s easy column inches for the local hacks but it''s utterly pointless. He''s apparently always up for it. Gary should have learnt from Worthy. Would much rather hear from the perhaps more cerebral players who dont generally get involved. Doesn''t do you any favours.
  14. I have absolutely no faith in Delia right now. However there''s no point in arguing the toss. We need a lucky break They''ve not put in a tw*t and we should be grateful for that. An ex-City player was essential, and I''m quite happy with the outcome. Whether it turns out to be good or not I''m fairly sure we could have done a lot worse.
  15. Amazes me that he thinks he''s the only manager around who''s hit on this brilliant idea of making notes. No gut feeling, no instinct. Must have a memory like a fish. Managers sip water when they know they''re in trouble.
  16. As dignified as his leaving comments were they only served to show that he''s known for some time that his days were over. He knew it, the board (in their heads not their heart) knew it, the fans knew it, and as was so obviously shown on Sunday, the playesr knew it. He stayed for the pay-off, pure and simple, and was prepared to take the club through the sh*t along the way. His behaviour towards the detractors was ample evidence of his contempt and he goes with a wry smile on his face. And as for loyalty? I remember mid-way through the Championship winning season rumours of a return to Wednesday, vigorously fanned by Worthy. He got an improved contract with a hefty pay-rise. I''m glad he''s gone, but he''s left us on a precipice, and it is the Club apologists who are equally to blame as anyone else. Throughout all this it has all been about where your level of acceptability lies, and it is just that theirs is way below mine and most others. You get very few chances nowadays it make some kind of impact and he blew it. A decent manager would have kept us up. Annoying thing is that his signings were good and we had a hell of a chance, but from then until now we''ve been better on paper than in practice and this is the crux of the matter. We''ve been underperforming for over two seasons! Again it''s about where your level of acceptabilty (and failure) lies. The Premiership, in a lot of ways is a horrible place to be, but unless you aspire to it, for me (but not for a few of you) there''s no point. I have no idea as to how it will go now, but I know it had to happen and I also know we''re in a far worse position than when it should have happened. With the new manager (as with any such appointment) to large extent we need to be lucky.  Let''s hope we are. But the memories are of course great, and if for nothing else I thank Worthy for those. Cardiff was unforgetable (except for the uncomfortable and slightly strange evening in the city), Portman Road, Boxing Day, Palace (the 8000) and Burnley away, and listening to FiveLive on that Wednesday night in 2004. Now I can properly support my team again (and by support I mean pushing them in the right direction, not the wrong one). Support is not being an apologist for a disintegrating regime that is taking the club backwards. Ashamed in any event is a ridiculous word to use for anybody. Some people are just wrong, not need to be ashamed you just got it wrong. Lets hope we can turn it around and get lucky with the new boss.
  17. There''s just no words to adequately respond to this. You''re taking the p*ss aren''t you? I guess 75 % of City fans aren''t City fans then.
  18. I''m gonna watch it again to remind myself of top notch management. Good game Nigel? Yes, good game, good passing, good workrate, good teamwork, it''s a good group. But you lost 3-1. Yes, bad game, bad passing, bad workrate, bad teamwork, but it''s a good group. Why do I listen anymore? I cannot dislike him anymore than I do already. I find some sort of solice in the overwhelming majority, but I know that it''s not going to happen this weekend. I know it, you all know it. We can only hope that he really is as self-centered as we think he is, and just doesn''t get it that the players want him out and will do the decent thing. But, do they read the message boards?, and even if they do, it''s hard enough to lose a game on purpose, let alone one that is on TV. I suspect that Sky will be his saviour, but I would love to see Worthington humiliated, as every day that goes on with him in place the more difficult it will be for the club when the inevitable does happen. The future of our club is at stake and it is simply too important to worry about the feelings of one obdurate and arrogant individual. All gratefullness is gone Nigel, I just can''t wait to see you gone. And I hope you never get a job in football again. Unless it''s down the A140.
  19. I''m sorry Delia, but do something or get out. Our love of you has gone. Believe me we are grateful, but you are taking us back to beyond where we were before. Don''t make it any worse. Worthy out
  20. I''ve pretty much scanned the whole site and they''re not here.  It''s over. It''s fairly obvious the waverers have turned. The time is now. Force it home.
  21. Belinda Carlisle?  She''s quite impressive up front. David Beckham (somewhere in North Norfolk)?  Now we''re getting silly.
  22. He''s been cr*p and utterly disinterested since midway through the prem season. Unless they are exceptional (Bouffon, Cech, Schmeichel etc) goalys do not make that much difference and if you can get any decent money for them you should. Worthy''s not done much right, but £1.5 million would be good business.
  23. Don''t recall Blair getting 50% of the vote. The City democracy involves two votes. Delia & WJ. Unfortunately both of them have been found wanting and we''re gonna pay for it.
  24. Worthy won''t have him because he''ll be popular whatever he does. The biggest thing we''re lacking is any sense of feel-good. Whether your''re a Worthy out or Worthy in no-one feels good at the moment. Worthy will not risk anyone becoming a star as it is the antithesis of what he stands for. It''s an utter crying shame. If Sutton came and did nothing it would be a fabulous move. Get him out now. The man from Ireland. ..and bring in Martin O''Neill (I know it''s a pipe dream but I think you know what I mean). Racist my ar*e.
  25. One of two things. 1. The board have ultimate faith but nodody wants to play for Worthy because perhaps when you meet him you just don''t like him. 2. They''ve effectively told him ''No excuses, your team, no money or new players without results.'' Either way we''re screw*d. With both our season is dependent on the first ten games, effectively waiting for failure and the inevitable, and a written off season. I''ve no time for Worthy (that''s a little understated), or the board for that matter, but you have to back him or sack him. The way it''s panning out they''re effectively going for the no-lose situation (for them, not the club), as they can claim loyalty whilst having to make the decision only when the situation becomes utterly untenable. They know nothing of the reality of football. Perhaps there''s a third possibilty - they''re all clueless and no-one really has a grasp of what''s happening at all. Bottom line. The festering antagonsim continues. Like it or not it''s not going away. We will have him out, but I fear we are not going to have to do anything to achieve it, he is going to do it himself. O''Leary''s gone - let that be a lesson to those who do not think two supporters in a crowd of thirty thousand make a difference.
