  1. Michael Bridges from Leeds? He might accept a realistic wage to be playing again and can''t still be injured, can he? Decent players and was at Leeds with DH
  2. Thanks Susie. I think we''ve seen the last of Mr Cooper now. Can''t believe Wolves will do us any favours!
  3. Danny(?) Shittu who played for QPR and Nigeria - always made me smirk for some reason.
  4. Have to say DD that I agree with your reasoning prefering Cooper to Harper. I don''t remember Harper being any better than Cooper and in terms of temprament I know which one I''d choose. Will either come do you think? Im confused with Cooper now. Is he now on a free from Wolves?
  5. If we could only have one - Harper or Cooper???
  6. Better hurry up Jonzey - Clint had his application in weeks ago! Its not boring at the moment - Im just enjoying not being in the playoffs and watching the four who are desperately scrapping to join us! There seems to be fewer random "we''re signing X (Sheringham, Romario etc)" threads here today (harper aside) - or is it me? Maybe I''ll think one up...
  7. Babys names could be an interesting thread - if you get stuck - how could she refuse Iwan if its a boy???!!!
  8. Queen of the South in Scotland - now doing reasonably well in Div 1 up there. I went to see a couple of games when I lived that way on and remember them playing Hamilton in Div 2 after they were due to be relegated a few years ago. QOTS were beaten on the day but stayed up when Hamilton were deducted 15 points by the SFL who went down by a point after the season had finished saving the Doonhammers bacon. Also has to be the only football ground built in a Tesco''s car park!
  9. Morning, Temp. Give Howie some credit, off his line or not to make three saves is a great effort. Shame the Shots won''t be in Div 3 though what they''ve done there in a short space of time is amazing. How''s Mrs Temp and her bump btw - getting close to the big day now?
  10. The Thai PM is another Davey character who has enquired about buying into other clubs as well (Fulham, ManU). Morgan, the local bloke who is offering same amount should be given his chance. He is critical of Houllier and clubs policies but is only voicing the concerns of the real fans. No matter how much money they had I would not want anyone to have an interest in the club if they were not a proper city fan
  11. DD, wasn''t SuperTed''s best mate the Spotty Man? Sheringham and Chadwick must have had some great night''s out at ManU! Hope everyone has a good weekend.
  12. Olster, Williams version is that Norwich were the only club that could tempt him back into football after his time with ManU. He had to earn a living some how and we don''t know how many job offers he turned down in the interim. Just be glad we have him on board. He''s a super coach by reputation and reckon he was a good driving instructor too.
  13. Good post DD. You beat me to the Bradford mess. It makes you realise just how lucky we are to have a club at all. Football clubs always go through bad times - that''s part of the experience and makes the good times so much sweeter - but what Bradford are having to contemplate now is terminal. There is a very real chance that they won''t exist by June. They will have few players (none of even div 2 quality) and no stadium. Delia and MW-J have saved the club from a fate similar to Bradford''s and have returned the good times. We owe them and the board an immense debt of gratitude. When Doncaster and Delia speak of ambition with prudence they should be applauded not criticised. I believe we will survive next season but relegation and selling our best players is preferable to ending up like Bradford. I don''t know what I would do if the club disappeared.
  14. Terrible idea for a player Great idea if you''re an outlaw trying to hide from the Sheriff of Nottingham
  15. I was hoping Millwall might draw Galatasaray or Besiktas in the First round. I think that would be just.
  16. Opening day: A home game against Southampton, Charlton, Brum etc - An easy three points to set us on our way. Final day: Anyone in the FA Cup final to complement our comfortable 14th place. Bring on the Premiership!!!
  17. I agree with your sentiments Jon - especially if we can get 22 players capable of regular Premiership action. There''s the problem though. We need more than 22 players - probably closer to 30 as we cannot be as lucky as we were this year with suspensions and injuries. Also some of the players listed weren''t capable of maintaining their form consistently in Division One, Briggs, Rivers, Shackell (upto a point) let alone a Premiership campaign. This reduces numbers further. Having said that we are in a Catch 22 position as I find myself advocating a large(ish) player influx which I am against because of morale reasons. It is unrealistic to expect 10 or more players to arrive over the Summer and would hinder our survival prospects as our "barrel of apples" would be upset. The answer can only be, as everyone suggests, adding cautiously and then riding our luck with injuries and suspensions. Not ideal but NW will see us through.
  18. It is reasonable to believe that the team that starts next season will be very close to the one above. However, on the basis of the above, we need another central defender as Scimeca (still not covinced he will come) is a utility player and two injuries simultaneously would stretch us. We need a further midfielder as I dont fancy (and Im sure he doesn''t) Hendo in central midfield. Add Cooper to that mix and give consideration to Hendo only as a forward (he can go out on loan) to cover Abbey who won''t be fully fit until Christmas after his injuries. If Abbey doesn''t recover we will need a good forward in the January sales (clue: he''s 6''7) Shoot me down then.
  19. There is one home friendly date for the start of next season currently without any opponents. The club have said they are trying to get a major European side to visit in what will be the last match before the season starts. The club admits that it is likely to be a team in the UEFA Cup however. I was thinking it would be a great occasion to invite Bayern back so we can give them a sound thrashing. Pie in the sky, as they are Champions League next year but you can dream. Which club will realistically turn up at CR for this friendly? Ideas?
  20. You won''t need prayers - just a draw at worst from Selhurst. The fans up there deserve Premiership football and I would really enjoy another trip (and drinking session) to Wearside next season - super place, super people ps start practising those penalties!
  21. Terrible idea as a footballer Great idea for a day out by the sea
  22. I was surprised not to see NW linked with Leeds being an ex player. He would be mad to accept for obvious reasons. Dowie has been linked to the job though. This is because he is the clearly the best manager in the division having pulled off the unlikely and guided an unfashionable club to the gates of the Premiership. lol.
  23. You are absolutely right in what you say Carl. Keep coming up with those names!
  24. Spot on Zipper. We shouldn''t disregard this source of players but be very very careful when deciding who to sign and stick to the criteria above.
