  1. Mellow, you should know that you shouldn''t Drink and Post...
  2. Even Worthington has lost faith in the Flailing Dutchman... He is absolutely shocking.  He looks like a lost child during games, he has no idea whatsoever who and how to mark up, consistently let''s wingers get past him to the byline, is caught out of position in every attack.  Doc and Flem have spent most of this season telling him where to stand. Worst performer in a City shirt for a long time, and that''s saying something.
  3. Come one all of you!  Positivity!  Let''s look forward to Sunday.  We should have a fresh line up - 3 new players (4 including the return of Safri) and the debut of a high profile signing. Let''s put last night behind us and look forward. If we lose on Sunday - then we can all wallow in negativity...
  4. Worthington emails a message board with his concerns; http://uk.gamestracker.com/forums/pc/5175
  5. Also starring: Robert Earnshaw Jonatan Johansson Peter Thorne Leon McKenzie Paul McVeigh Darren Huckerby Ian Henderson Ryan Jarvis And watch out for the sequel "Oh no!  Not another central midfielder!" Featuring: Youssef Safri Andy Hughes Carl Robinson Dickson Ethuhu Jason Jarrett Zesham Rehman And as a bonus feature on the DVD, a documentary about our right-back situation: "The Flailing Dutchman and The Sicknote"
  6.                                 Green Fleming         Rehman      Doherty            Drury McVeigh        Safri          Ethuhu            Huckerby                      Earnshaw    Johansson Thoughts?
  7. Yeah, you''re right Wiz - Brennan signed and then we won the league. What a jinxer...
  8. Annoyingly, the pagination messed up - All players under LM should be CM and Huckerby under LM, as you have probably worked out by now...
  9. If you take into account each player''s strongest positions, our squad looks like this: GK                  RB                   CB                   LB Green               Louis Jean        Fleming            Drury Ward               Colin                Shackell           Brennan Gallacher                                  Doherty           Charlton                                                   RM                  CM                  LM                                                 Safri                 Huckerby                                                 Hughes                                                 Robinson                                                 Ethuhu                                                 Jarrett                                                 Rossi Jarvis                                                   CF                                                 McKenzie                                                 McVeigh                                                 Thorne                                                 Ryan Jarvis                                                 Henderson Now, there may be a little bit of debate with this (Is Charlton a left back or a centre back, is Brennan a left back or left midfielder etc.) but disregarding that, this breakdown of the squad surely goes to show what a terrible state we are currently in, and that maybe strengthening the attack should not be a priority at this point in time.  Thoughts?
  10. Even if your hypothesising was correct (I don''t think agents'' fees are included in a transfer fee, they are a seperate entity - also I believe that the buying club pays the lion''s share of the agents'' fees), we got an excellent striker who played well for us, scored a few goals for us in the Premiership and several in the Championship (by far our top scorer) FOR FREE.  Including Wages.
  11. I''d definitely donate at least £5m on the conditions that they spent it all on Transfers and Wages, and I got a seat on the board and a season ticket for life.
  12. Yep, an article about something that an arrogant and solipsistic football manager said the other day is certainly proof enough for me...
  13. Is it any coincidence that in the month that we loaned a right back, Colin gets dropped, but as soon as Wright goes back, the ''Standbying Dutchman'' plays every game.  Proof, if proof be need be, that he is getting a guaranteed place in the starting line up, simply because there is absolutely nobody else at the club who can play right back (disregarding Louis ''Sicknote'' Jean and with Fleming pre-occupied with keeping the centre back place warm). This is an awful state of affairs to be in.  Colin, as I stated after his abysmal showing at Loftus Road, is an appalling player.  He is consistently caught out of position, can''t seem to understand the concept of marking up, and lets the opposition run past him for fun.  BUT HE GETS INTO THE TEAM EVERY FLIPPING GAME, JUST BECAUSE THERE IS NOBODY TO REPLACE HIM!  I THINK EVEN WORTHINGTON KNOWS HE IS A LOAD OF OLD TOILET, BUT CAN''T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! A perfect example of how our squad is as deep as a puddle in the Sahara.
  14. Does anyone know how many we are taking to Bramall?  My ticket for the first time in several seasons is in the lower tier, so I don''t know whether the upper is sold out, or the club have altered the seating arrangements? Hopefully we will take a few to make it an excellent Boxing Day atmosphere.
  15. I can''t believe reading through this post there has not been one mention of Disco Dale. For shame.
  16. Hendo was excellent.  I was chuffed for him when we starting singing his name.  I think he''s got a bad rap lately, he gives his all the majority of the time - I agree a first team run should be on the cards. Although, that said - he was awful against QPR.
  17. Can anyone tell me why Worthington initially brought on Rossi Jarvis instead of McVeigh?  Jarvis got sent on in a pretty important match with no experience to back him up, playing on the right wing, out of position.  Eventually, when McVeigh was introduced, Jarvis slipped into his familiar central midfield role. Why didn''t Worthy send McVeigh on initially, a) as a more appropriate alternative and b) to try to do some damage to the (seemingly cracking) Birmingham defence?  I think Jarvis'' poorly hit shot sums it up.  Perhaps a more confident player would have done much better. Sometimes I can''t work Worthy out at all...
  18. Compared to Colin in the last couple of games, he was Cafu.
  19. I think that sums it up really. Several times this season he was been totally out of position when we have conceded, but at Loftus Road he was inexcusable.  His positional sense is woeful, and he seems consistently confused as to where he should be and whom he needs to be marking.  He cost us the first goal with his incompetent marking and slow closing down, and was a spectator for the majority of the game.  Granted, he is not the only offender, but his performance sums up City perfectly at the moment - disorganised, confused, lackadaisical and ineffective. I never thought I''d say this, but bring back Louis-Jean.
  20. The fans are well within their rights to voice their disappointment - to travel down to London and a ticket for 26 quid and witness that lethargic and ineffective excuse for a team was appalling. The fans are wallowing in negativity because there was absolutely nothing positive about performances whatsoever.  This is not the time for standing up and politely clapping at the likes of Jurgen "Who does a right back mark again?" Colin, Craig "Hoof" Fleming, Ian "Shout at others" Henderson or Simon "Susan" Charlton.  They (amongst others) deserved the criticism.  Are the fans going to keep their intense disappointment quiet to avoid hurting Ashton''s feelings? (who incidentally, is not devoid of criticism - he seems to have McKenzie syndrome at the moment- giving 110% to about 70% effect). It was the worst display I have seen for around 12 years, and the players should know how bitterly disappointed the fans are at the moment.
  21. There''s a difference between pessimism and realism, Amarallio. 2 wins do not a season make.
  22. Just read Waghorn''s article which seems to me overly positive. He states that our current form touches the magic 2 points per game mark that leads to promotion.  That is ridiculous.  You could say that we are averaging 3 points per game if you only take into account the last 2 games.  It is a superficial view of our current status. He also proudly states that we are only 3 points from the playoffs.  Yes Rick, but we are also only 5 points from the relegation zone. Don''t get me wrong, I am not a pessemist - I am also heartened by our recent upturn in form, but to start talking about playoffs is way too premature.  Let''s not forget that we will probably lose Lisbie and Davenport over the next couple of months.  Also, let''s not forget that dreaded series of 4 away games in a row in November/December. It''s a little early to get carried away.
  23. Wouldn''t go so far as to say the Palace game was a great game (unless you were a neutral) - I felt sick afterwards.  If Johnson hadn''t dived, we would have taken 2 extra points and would still be in the Premiership now.  The blood runs deep.  Still, time to let these things go... The funniest for me was away to Reading last season.  At the start of the second half, for some reason only Green and Drury ran out - they were the only Norwich players on the pitch for ages.  So we start up "Two men!  We only need two men!  We only need two men!" I also loved "We saw you cry on the telly" at Ronaldo at Old Trafford.
