  1. Couldn''t agree more Indy the 0-1 win against Stoke being a case in point. Great win (90 minutes of my life I will never get back) Failure to beat Arsenal proves nothing.
  2. The last manager that wanted to get rid of a fans favourite didn''t get his way....... Although I cant really see Hoolahan fitting into a Hughton Team really, Doesn''t offer enough going forward and nothing tracking back.
  3. As always a great report Ricardo and for once I too was entertained, personally I think the silky passing skills of the fantastic mr Fox were worth the admission price alone. Not sure if he can play that well week in week out but I thought he was extraordinary. Given that it was clear that nobody wanted a replay , not going 2 up front for the last 10 minutes and "going for it" shows the phrase is completely alien to the manager. It was bizarre that despite being told we had a 4-3-3 formation that Elmander looked as though he was physically chained to the side line, Im not entirely sure Hughton knows what it means, pretending a 4-5-1 is 4-3-3 doesn''t make it more attacking you need the wide player in the box from time to time.
  4. Whilst I am far from convinced Malky is the man for the job I certainly do think he would offer many positives over Hughton not least that his teams seem to play with a passion he instils in them. Also I am certainly not convinced he would be as defensive, I think he knows there is a time to defend and a time to attack. Lastly I think he could be a rallying point for supporters perhaps to get us all pulling in the same direction. I think most that advocate a change would look for an inspirational tactical genius able to create free flowing football on a shoestring and a contacts list to envy throughout Europe, but maybe that''s just a pipedream.
  5. I can only presume those not convinced by Foxys performance didn''t see the game on Saturday. I was truly amazed, I have to confess I haven''t been calling for him to be given a chance maybe I just forgot what he had to offer, indeed maybe Saturday was a one off but boy did he have a hell of a game. He was MOM by such a huge amount I worry what game anyone who didn''t think so was watching. The only player that comes close in terms of passing in our squad is Fer and Foxys performance actually gave me some hope about football in general. His slide rule passes both long and short into the feet of Striker and wide players were a joy to behold an on another day surely would have had at least one assist. Fulhams lineup was anything but poor, I''m honestly not sure if it was a one off but if he could play like that every game he would be the first name on my teamsheet. We have really struggled to get good chances for any strikers since Hughton arrived maybe Foxy could be the answer, I am quite happy to go and see him play to find out.
  6. Sorry this is one of the few things I agree with Hughton on. Wes was a great player for us but just doesn''t offer enough in the premier league especially as there is no real position for him especially if we were to play one up front. In the diamond behind two strikers he can pull the strings and create chances, he is lost out wide and for some reason hardly ever shoots making it very easy for defenders to cut the supply route to an individual striker. We need a player that can do everything Wes can as well as get double figures in terms of goals, otherwise for the most part we will look like the opposition have an extra player. I would say he is probably worth a couple of million and whilst I agree that is peanuts you have to remember it would also free up a wage for his replacement. Oh and by the way to whoever it was that said he was worth double what Holty was, id have him back in a heartbeat. If only to motivate the team something our manager clearly struggles to do. With our current squad I would rather see Fer play in that position than Wes.
  7. Once again you completely miss the point obviously football is only a matter of points to you. The only team we have dominated in a full game this season was Cardiff, even then they created the only clear cut chance of the game. do you watch our games on teletext ?
  8. Thanks for your support Ricardo regardless of the advise from elsewhere im in it for life, for better or worse. I want whats best for Norwich City I do find it frustrating that the team do not appear to be able to give us some positivity to hang our hats on, I do find it more than a little frustrating that some seem to be positive to the degree of being over the moon if we can keep playing just like this for the next 10 years. I still hope that something will change maybe we will sign a midfielder who can bring it all together but our goals for and against stats cannot be ignored.
  9. I agree Ricardo that maybe we have been spoilt of late but I thing some people get the impression I want the moon on a stick, surely its not too much to expect a couple of games a season where everything goes right ? Where we look like we deserve the points ?
  10. To be honest I really do not care who plays consistently more entertaining football, I understand we cannot expect this in the premier league. I just want a few games a season that I can think wow we played really well and deserved that. Perhaps the statistic of the number of times we are last on MOTD is of more relevance than you''d think and maybe its not some big plot after all. We just play incredibly dull football.
  11. Sorry maybe I missed your point, I thought were suggesting it was easier for a club of our size to compete back in the day, and that I was expecting us to be competing in the top half of the league (which I don''t) I would suggest we are in a much stronger position financially within the football pyramid than we were 30 years ago. We just cannot seem to play exciting attacking football against anyone. our goals for and against tally does not lie. I am sorry I cannot dress up our performances this season to be some sort of success, I accept we have managed to be 3 points outside the relegation zone is better than being in it but when we perform as we have recently against Sunderland , Fulham and Palace you do have to wonder who can we actually beat in this league. I really couldn''t care less what a bunch of performing seals think of my opinion and there is little that would make me happier than tomorrows game being a catalyst for better times. I have however been watching football at Carrow road for around 40 years and whilst part of me would dearly love to save my money rather than turn up and be disappointed on such a regular basis anyone that would suggest that clearly has no idea what being a supporter actually is. It is not accepting every poor performance and trying to dress I up as something its not. it is being there through thick or thin (and there have been some very thin times) If thinking we should be able to go toe to toe with other teams in the bottom half of the league we are in and win a few games a season comfortably is expecting to much then I am guilty as charged.
  12. You are totally wide of the mark Nutty, I have no desire to see us life the premier league trophy or even take part in some secondary European competition. I am happy to measure success in much smaller ways. Not being relegated fine that''s a success. Performing to the best of our abilities another. I can take some positives from the Utd game even though it was probably the poorest team they had sent to Carrow rd in my lifetime. Looking good and winning a game comfortably. That''s what we quite simply cannot do, we always seem to make the opposition look like world beaters. Maybe we sit too deep and invite the pressure if we somehow manage to get in front but whatever it is it is the worst thing about Norwich under Hughton, Scraping a win is the best we can hope for. against the top teams of course we cannot expect more but against teams around us we surely can.
  13. The problem for me Ricardo is that I really do find it difficult to find many performances in the Hughton era that I feel worthy of smooth but far to many that qualify as rough. Even when we win we look far from convincing. I cannot fault the players I was happy with our signings and think we have a great squad (just missing no10) I cannot even keep harping on about playing 4-5-1 without a number 10 as Hughton has mixed it up playing 4-4-2 and only one winger (as I had been calling for) with some success. But we still look anything but convincing in almost all games. When we win in blood and thunder last ditch tackles and edge of the seat. When we lose or draw its pedestrian plodding and predictable. The only 2 things I can say that are missing are tempo and belief, is it the managers fault ? I have no idea.
  14. would love to know the number of times each of them has been last on motd due to being involved in the dullest game of the day ? I make no secret over the fact that I will take entertainment over results any time, even if that did get us relegated, i''ll take the results just need something to make me look forward to visiting carrow road every now and again (not every week) I am truly in awe of those that still travel to away games knowing what they are going to get although we do seem to have an awful lot of easily pleased fans.
  15. Love your positivity Jas (although it does make me even more sure you''ve been at the wacky baccy) what on earth makes you think we can out perform Swansea and Saints ? I''m happy with a gradual progression for a long term goal but we seem to have signed better players and be performing worse, I cant see it as progress.
  16. Not to mention the Murphys or indeed the possibility of Playing Olsson or Whittaker wide. We need to throw any money we have at a quality CAM to link play and score some goals or an all round box to box midfielder to allow Fer to play further forward. anything left more cover at CB.
  17. Don''t think he is the answer we need a central attacking midfielder.
  18. Morty I refer you to my earlier comment 3rd lowest goals scored second highest goals conceded. If many more people champion this level of mediocrity we should consider changing the clubs name to Stepford City.
  19. When was the last time we punched anything ? let alone our weight ? Nobody thought it would be easy but we hoped we would have some satisfying days winning a few games with a flourish rather than 3rd lowest goals scored second highest goals conceded. Livin the dream.
  20. I really don''t understand why this "Little Norwich" thing is still hanging around. I don''t buy that football has changed massively. Yes there are 6 teams that we will be unlikely to live with either on or off the pitch, probably pretty much the same ones as 30 years ago. Other than that a debt free Norwich City should be able to compete on and off the pitch with most of the rest. The only expectation I have is that if I pay money to watch a football match I have the belief that there is a possibility we might win it. To see some convincing displays where we put the opposition in there place and they are glad to get off the pitch after 90 minutes. I can take the rough with the smooth, but the rough with the rough is hard to be inspired by. The only team that I have seen this season that would give us a run for our money is West Ham. The sad fact is I really don''t know why, its easy to blame the manager and if you think (as I do) that the playing squad is as good as we have ever had its difficult to point the finger elsewhere. I think maybe its the fact there is no tempo to our play, If you have the skills of Arsenal, Chelsea or Man City maybe you can walk the ball into the net with the opposition wondering what happened but we don''t have (and will never have) that quality of player. We cannot defend for 90 minutes and expect to keep a clean sheet, to do that we have to keep the ball at the other end of the pitch. We have only scored 3 more than the worst attacking team so far this season and we have conceded the joint second highest amount but everything is going according to plan.
  21. I am still not quite sure what you are actually trying to say with regard to the premier league. The only side I would say that are showing any signs of this way of playing with any success is probably Chelsea and if I honestly felt that Norwich had as much will and endeavour to either defend or attack as most other Premier League clubs I could probably resign myself to it. I regularly watch other teams on TV and I have to say that entertainment is alive and well in the Premier League sadly it struggles to make it up the A11. I used to think it was a matter of formation but that does not appear to be the case. The lack of pace at which we play the game always allowing the opposition the time to get the defence set in front of us probably doesn''t help. Perhaps it is jus that we do not have good enough players in Midfield to supply the kind of chances that our strikers can thrive on. We needed a goal scoring Attacking Midfielder in the summer and whilst I think Leroy may be able to play this he is probably more valuable to us further back. The team seem scared to me, certainly short on confidence they need someone to actually make them believe they can win a football game before they go onto the pitch. If Hughtons interviews are anything to go by he spends all his time saying how great the opposition is rather than giving confidence we can beat them.
  22. I think the true irony of the situation is that I think the board should be more vocal in support of the manager who I think should be sacked as this might actually allow him to achieve something.
