Yes - I was going to say exactly the same thing. Over the last couple of seasons Wilson's name has cropped up on here quite frequently as someone people would like to see come here on loan - yet he has been totally outshone by Cantwell in both the games against Cardiff - and as you've pointed out, he's been booked in both games for fouls on Cantwell.

Scored for them last weekend in the Scottish Cup as well.

Thought he was pretty good overall, but a little slow to clamp down on Cardiff's incessant and increasingly aggressive fouling as the game wore on.

The thing I just don't get about this is the insane rush to judgement! Maybe it's just symptomatic of the internet age, but people are always giving knee jerk opinions based on infinitesimal amounts of evidence. I've said it before, but it bears repeating - Iwan Roberts was gash for the whole of his first season with us, yet went on to become a City legend and our third all time top scorer.

Typical showboating Cantwell performance! Oh yes, it's all very well to prance about in the middle of the pitch where there's maximum chance of being picked out by the TV cameras, but is there any particular reason why he didn't find it necessary to run into the corners??? There's an old saying that a hard working player will cover every blade of grass on the pitch, but it's clear from this heat map that there were a number of blades of grass that he never even trod on. Total lack of effort - loan him out to Rovrum ASAP. 🥵

I know it's been mentioned in the match thread, but I thought I'd give this a bump. Barden didn't really have a lot to do today, but everything he had to do he did well. Was particularly impressed with his distribution - he never looked the least bit fussed playing it out from the back, even when Cardiff tried to press him.

As he did at Carrow Road last month, Cantwell ran the game for the Canaries as he cut inside from the left wing at will and drifted infield into pockets of space. The England Under-21 international twice went close with curling shots from the edge of the box before scoring the goal his dazzling performance deserved as he volleyed into an empty net after Cardiff goalkeeper Alex Smithies had saved from Jordan Hugill.

How on earth did the ref decide that was a foul by Hugill? Baffling decision.

You don't have to go back far - to the Barnsley game to be precise - to see McLean destroy the opposition defence with a brilliant 50 yard pass. (and he also played incisive forward passes for both of our goals against Coventry as well).

They need to know what they are talking about and be able to put that across in a clear and interesting manner, preferably with a bit of humour thrown in now and again. I listen to Radio 5 a lot and Pat Nevin is the best in my opinion.
