  1. What is he saying? He would rather there were no Norwich Supporters at a game? THEN the team will perform well? The squad can ONLY perform without the horrid fans ? The absolute rubbish we saw on the pitch is a result of the poor support and not the poor coaching? I would rather Dean Smith coached and prepared a team that can play football and stop treating the Supporters , the Owners and the Club with such contempt.
  2. He treats us all with contempt. He quotes stats at us expecting us to be convinced that he is doing a good job . He has an adequate squad with players worth tens of millions out on loan, and yet he cannot coach a decent display from them. Anyone who watched the home defeats this season will not be able to stomach his disingenuous, deluded rants against the supporters. The performances have been utter dross, no commitment, no determination, no style nor belief. I will not attend another Norwich game, home or away until this clown has gone.
  3. “Fortunately our next game is away from home”. He really wants to be sacked. No employee can deride his employers in such a fashion. He just does not want to be here, we don’t want him here. Why is he still here?
  4. Prediction? I have stopped bothering. Having witnessed so many awful performances at home under Dean Smith I cannot raise the enthusiasm to go and sit in a freezing stand to watch Hanley pass square or back and for the rest to create so few chances. It is live on the TV and I probably will not even bother with that. Wake me up when Dean Smith has gone.
  5. I suggest you ask yourself what qualities do you really see in McLean that you would want in your team?
  6. This contract renewal/extension really is lazy management of the squad make up. McLean and others, along with Hanley, are yesterday’s men. They have no place in the future of an ambitious club. Unless.. Unless everyone is reconciled to an extended stay in the Championship or worse. In that scenario McLean could be viewed as a barely adequate squad utility player to cover injuries. But he has no place in a Club looking forward and beyond the Championship.
  7. This is dreadful news! What are they thinking at Carrow Road? There are a number of “senior players” who are just too comfortable at Norwich City, they have no ambition, no hunger , no leadership and set a poor example to the younger squad members. There is a time when these older has beens need to be moved on for the good of the Club. McLean is 30 years old (31 in 6 weeks time) and we give him a 3 year contract with an option on another year? Outrageous! This is just more of the same lack of ideas and direction that we have seen since Dean Smith arrived and Webber decided to go fell walking.
  8. You are clearly not very good at realising my own sarcasm to you in my response. However, the point remains that the American must be experiencing “buyer’s regret” unless he has a clear and achievable plan for improving the set up at NCFC. plan for improving the Norw
  9. I am glad that you agree it is a catastrophic mistake , regardless of what happened in the 45 minutes of the second half against Middlesbrough, it really is a mistake when viewed against the immediate problem of the spiral dive into mediocrity that has occurred since the appointment of Dean Smith. When viewed against decades of history there are also causes for concern for an investor in NCFC, not least the inability to turn potential into a sustainable Premiership Club. There is an old adage coined by South if memory serves, “how do you make a small fortune out of Norwich City? Start off with a big fortune!” While I may agree that if you are looking for something to criticise you will always find it, there is so very , very little to grasp as positive developments under Dean Smith.
  10. Will Dean Smith come back as a coach who can inspire a squad and the Supporters? Not holding my breath.
  11. Beg to differ. I think it is entirely reasonable to expect a professional athlete, if selected to do a job, to actually do that job rather than walk around the pitch for 90 minutes. I doubt that he broke sweat after the pre match warmup.
  12. Agree that Hayden is a disappointment. I watched him against Middlesbrough and thought that he spent a lot of time hiding. He seemed to struggle with movement and was reluctant to attack the ball and challenge opposition players. All in all I was surprised that he stayed on the pitch when substitutes were brought on, I thought he was the weakest player on the park and should have been yanked first. Another strange Dean Smith decision.
  13. Only one question to ask the new director, “ Having seen the second half performance against Middlesbrough are you happy with your investment in this Club?”
  14. Webber is no longer the asset to this Club that Delia believes he is. I would propose that he is now a liability. Leaving Dean Smith in charge while going to climb a hill is a dereliction of duty , it is a shameful abrogation of his responsibilities. Keep the status quo and this Club will be mid table mediocrity. This farce has been going on for 12 months since Dean Smith was appointed , stats do not lie, he has a win rate worse than Glenn Roeder. And yet Webber continues with the insanity of trying the same thing and hoping for a different outcome. Madness.
  15. It has become glaringly obvious that Dean Smith was a poor appointment. He may be a nice chap but he does not fit the role this Club needs. He is on a career nose dive and is dragging us down to be a side of mediocrities. There is no style in his football, there is no passion and there is no way we will get promoted with him in charge. I am sad that this is happening to a Club for which we have such affection. But it was such a poor performance in the second half against Middlesbrough that even Webber cannot ignore it. Surely? Dean Smith is not the coach we hoped that he would be .
  16. Having resolved not to go to Carrow Road until there is a regime change I weakened and decided to purchase a late ticket, nice seat, tea and biscuits at half time. Should have stuck to my plan of not attending. Even the tea at half time tasted odd, and that was the highlight of the afternoon. What a complete waste of time and money. Dean Smith appears to be as inept , clueless and as out of his depth as did Roeder. In fact poor old Dean Smith looks as if he regrets coming to Norwich and it shows as he slugs around the touch line with his hands in his pockets feeling glum and sorry for himself. Someone (Webber) really should put him out of his misery, let this all end so that we can all move on.
  17. 30.2% win rate for Dean Smith. Excellent! Well done. Genius. All we need is to give the man some more time, it will come good. The players and the Supporters are all behind him 100%. Nurse! More medication please!
  18. I have walked away from Carrow Road many times in disappointment. Today I walked away in disgust. That a Norwich side could show so little effort against a bang average opposition, so little desire to win, so much contempt for the supporters. I didn’t feel let down, I felt that I had been mugged.
  19. It appears to me that Dean Smith is blaming the players , again. Not his fault. Not his failure to prepare the squad. Not his failure to motivate the team. We should be grateful to have such a tactical genius coaching at our little Club.
  20. This certainly seems to underline the disconnect between the Club and the Supporters. For many of us the local press is our conduit of information and news. It is from the local media that we get the impartial news with which we form our own opinions. This Putinesque control of what the media sees is deplorable.
  21. Pink Un says that Dean Smith is “relaxed at the ebb and flow of City performances “- I wish he wasn’t. I would be wondering why they cannot play 90 minutes of football in the manner they played the first 20 minutes against QPR? Too much to ask for 90 minutes of effort from professional sportsmen? Don’t tell me, the drop in effort was caused by the fans not supporting enough. Much easier to pass it square or back for extended periods of play with no idea how to create openings in an opposition defence. More of this “ebb and flow” to come.
  22. Trite? Not really, we are discussing the failure of this Club, the whole essence of NCFC being ruined by a lack of any definable style or culture. If you enjoy watching 90 minutes of boredom where Hanley cannot bring himself to pass forward and the rest making less than a handful of efforts on goal all game , then carry on singing Dean Smith’s praises. I have opted out and will no longer attend Carrow Road until there is a change of regime. I have had enough. The Preston North End game was awful the Luton game was the worst I can remember in 55 years of going to Norwich games and although we won against Stoke it was a dire performance. I did not see hunger to win or commitment to the Club or the Supporters. If we do not get promoted this year then our Club will face dire economic consequences which will probably result in an extended stay in the Championship or worse. I cannot see success under this current coach and I refuse to accept that our style , if we have one, is something I wish to witness anymore . I will not attend the QPR game.
  23. There is a sort of unwritten contract between Supporters and their Team ; they actually try to win the game and we support them. If they do not at least show effort, commitment or endeavour then the Team should and can expect silence from the stands. The team must at least break into a trot every now and again and at least spend most of their time passing forwards instead of square or back and they must at least try to put the ball in the opposition’s net. That’s the contract, them’s the rules.
  24. According to our finance director, Richens, there is NO disconnect between the club and the Supporters. He does, however , criticise the fans for not cheering when the players need a lift. Difficult to cheer the dross that is being served up. No attempt on goal until the 39th minute when we scored. Constant walking around the pitch, passing square or passing backwards, no real endeavour and certainly no leadership on the pitch from our Captain. Yes, we won, but like most of the performances that I have witnessed under Dean Smith it left me feeling bored, not excited or entertained. Where was the effort, where was the commitment, where was the engagement? The performance on the pitch was reflected in the silence from the stands. The season ticket holders sitting next to me said at the final whistle that they would not be bothering to attend on Wednesday, they had seen enough. I can see their point, I will not bother either, it is on the TV and if it sucks I can switch channels.
  25. Any “atmosphere that promotes apathy and failure “ is not generated on a Message Board. It is generated in the Boardroom , on the Training Ground and finally on the pitch in the performances which reflect the attitude and motivation of the Directors and the Coaching staff. Any toxic postings on this site are a mere reflection of disappointment with the displays and not the cause of those poor performances. There is a difference.
