  1. Very witty 😉 Well if we could of played hardball and wait until July before accepting one. Or dare I say even look to have a bidding war. Did we not practically accept the opening offer (I get that we don't know what was mentioned behind close doors but still)
  2. Come on dude, having Gunn here is a great signing. Young, was on fringes of England sqauds, potential seen as city had him. Plus all the connections he has here. Plus knows farke and his style. Plus had a good season when with us. Plus he is happy to likely drop wages, come here and be number two with the thought of learning and pushing krul. All for 2.5m (ok potentially more) What more do you want?
  3. Talksport say it's as good as done that Jack grelash has gone to Man city for 100m. Pffffffttttttt, if true, that 33m for EMI looks a steal .... Well done Norwich for this week's transfer dealings... But maybe, we sold too cheap! (I'm sure most posters thought this already)
  4. I think we would all love skipp back and I'm sure a return would of been on the cards, but now Jose isn't there, the new manager may fancy working with skipp. Also, I guess his injury is a block on the deal anyhow. How long is he out for does.anyone know? Is Sam Bryan back yet or how long is he due out? Also, are we happy going in with just Aarons dimi and Bali if Sam is still out?
  5. Got to say if ajer and gilmour come through the doors, then I officially accept NCFC apologies for selling Emi and breaking my heart. Milot Raschida has gone some way but ajer and gilmour would just be a great window. Glad we have Gunn back too, injury worries for krul put out of my mind now.
  6. Its stats and transfers like the above that make me query why we aren't in for them at the time? Sake a couple seasons ago with semi ajayi. Moved from Rotherham to west brom and was in a last year if contract with Rotherham at the time just relegated. But I suppose I'm nit picking at the recruitment team here! Easy for me to say indeed
  7. But that's because they are premier League quality. Surely you get what you pay for and it's only a matter of time that if we want squad improvement and premier League quality players than we may have to pay the going rate! Surely even the existing ones in the squad, when it comes to their next contract and hopefully we are still in the prem, will want the going rate. Cantwell defo will come his contact talks next year. If we are going to be in this league surely we have to pay for that standard? Its just a house of cards otherwise if we pack the squad with cheaper options, hopefully most of the time it works and you even get a few gems, but for Christ sake they need to spend to get these boys in. Is 40k mega footballing wages anymore? For the premier League? Just in the same way that £20million isn't mega money in that league anymore for a transfer. Got to pay the going rate, bonus if you get a cheapy on wages or fee or turns to a gem but I'd imagine the majority of the time that is few and far between. Forget the wage then Cambridgeshire, just looking at Wilson and billing, would you happy with those signings? Or the calibre of signing atleast?
  8. What about pukkis Finnish team mate Joel pohjenpalo. Looked handy last night, been on main away from Leverkusen for last two seasons. Decent ish goal scoring/games played. He look good last night just an idea is all, seeing as he may wish to have tips from teemu and maybe we can loan to buy. I think it's a great point that it will be hard to get a really top goalscorer here who is accepting he will be second choice, certainly initially, behind pukki
  9. Now Emi has gone and still sadly no further word on skipp despite his house hunting, what would we consider a good window? Will we consider keeping Todd and max more important than bringing in first team replacements? I'd take Angus Gunn coming as red. I'd love to see us go big and get Philip billing and Harry Wilson. Premier League experience players within our price range id assume. Would we prefer another year of skipp or permanent signing of billing. Both would be great but unlikely The striker situation I can't see changing, unless it's a youngster as who's going to come in and play second fiddle to pukki. Do we need another CB or are we happy to go Gibson Hanley zimbo plus one of Omabamidele, Famewo or rocky bushri. Can anyone think of anyone we could get who may be worth it? Duffy prehaps? And old head, not in favour at Brighton, didn't light up Celtic on loan so may be available.
  10. In fairness Cambridge, that would of been my valuation of him for what he seemingly gave Barnsley and it being Orlando city. I mean, everyone is thrown into the next Messi camp every now and then... I'm pretty hugill is the next Messi of the north east 😉 bless him Well I think the above suggested 20m is crazy, not anywhere near worth that,.or do you think he is? (That's not to say you'd want him here either just wanted your valuation)
  11. Blimey, totally didn't think it would be anything like that. I can see why Barnsley didn't pursue
  12. Just interested to know others thoughts on Daryl Dike. He has now returned to Orlando city after 9 goals in 19 appearances (a fair few from the bench) for Barnsley Assuming he can't be on a fortune at either Orlando or Barnsley, is young strong and fast, wouldn't come expecting to be number one starter and would offer that physical input we lacked last time and has since been identified by the club, as well as the Barnsley manager knowing Dike character and is close with DF, do we expect to see us take a punt on him? I think with the right finances below £6m, I'd say great signing. Thoughts?
  13. Good move. Clears up the number two role and someone who may well push krul. Let's not forget last two seasons krul has been injured for a few games and we wouldn't be happy (as a majority) if it was left to McGovern to jump in, especially in this league. Who's to say that after a run of 5 or 6 games, Gunn may well push krul for starter. (before anyone starts, krul is undisputed number one but I think Angus is a good young gk so maybe him inform would take some beating) We are paying a pittance really. Let's get some more boys in! Good buy 😉
  14. Is it too early to get deals in place for thiago and Giovanni buendia?
  15. Clap this thread and these gents. Well done 👍
  16. ... Got me there lol Umm he will be 150million Im just heartbroke dude.
  17. Got to say, 33m is a bargain. If I was a villa fan I'd be ecstatic. 33 is a steal. And we all know villa won't be his end game. He will be a 60 or 90 in a year or two. Fact
  18. Loved reading all these guys. Great points. So, i think we can all now universally accept that by way of our finance model, the way we wish to be perceived by other young talents and the fact (and it is just fact, arsenal are a bigger club and will pay more wages than us) that naturally EMI will wish to progress his career, is the sticking point the price? £40million does sound on the lighter side to me personally and I'm guessing from the way this thread has gone, to most. We can argue that it's our highest fee ever, that he is yet to smash the PL (but clearly will hence why arsenal want him) and that due to covid the market is the way it is. But I consider that apparently twenty percent is due to Gefate, and as others have pointed out, who can we get near his level of effectiveness for what we would pay. Is the 30 odd million enough for us to really get the quality in needed for the squad as a whole to progress? Not bashing the board, they have done a marvellous job, but I do feel we get turned over on transfer fees and I worry that if we try to recruit on the cheap again (and in sense trying to get just 2 PL quality players in for 30m is on the cheap, albeit not for us) then the result is just going to be relegation. Adding to that point, I know it's the model and it's lush. But it's only lush because it worked this time. If we go down again and find ourselves back in the champ, pukki is older and slower, DF may be gone, SW gone, Todd and max surely gone and anyone with real ambition and ability would have to question if Norwich is a viable long term option.
  19. I guess also you have to think of the effect on everyone else if we sell Emi. Why would max or Todd wish to stay if that's the vibe? As in, the chances of survival would seemingly be slashed before we have had a go. Plus they themselves may think it's time to jump ship if Emi is too They will wish to go to. What does that look like to potential players coming in? Sure, the unearthed gems as such will still come but the established, ready to go ones may think twice, or ask for bigger wages. Before anyone says, I'm not downing the club, i get it. But it's just sad. Has gefate have any sell on percentage involved?
  20. I know it's just the way football works and not shooting at the board (who I've precise in the past but have to take my hat off about how excellent they have been in last 4/5years) but why oh why, are we selling our assets when we are on the way up. Like someone said above, would Brentford sell Toney now? Likely not. Surely keeping in the league would exceed any likely transfer fee? From memory can anyone think of a promoted team selling their tailsman (regardless of fee or contact status) after only just coming (ie the trajectory of said club is on the up)
  21. With arsenal not in Europe and villa not going to be challenging then why can't Emi stay one more year, enjoy farkeball on the gentleman's agreement that next season, if he still wishes he can leave. By which point arsenal will likely have European football. As well as others who may come in for him. £50m is a good price considering. I hope for once we play hard ball and say fifty or walk away.
  22. Here comes Godfrey! I would not have ever put money on Ben getting a cap before max aarons or James maddison Go on Ben Godfrey!
  23. That's a good shout although I'd assume him and wilder will partner up again at wba
  24. Well, bar the wages and that lovely new stadium, I'd argue that spurs are a club in decline. Bale won't return. The back line is aging. No European football next term so I'd assume it won't be a tip top manager (especially if Levy is staying) Kane is going, so it leaves son, who surely won't be expected to drag that lot to top six. So, where's the pull bar finance? Consider as well what a pain it is to get if you want to leave (as in if he saw spurs as a stepping stone, pffft, good luck getting out)
  25. Twas indeed! The other keepers pen was a belter though tbf!
