  1. £10m, to £5m, to £0, so 2 years away from him having to pay £5m for somebody to take him.
  2. I think there are three groups here. There's the "he'll be class" group. There's the "he's a donkey" group I think the majority are actually in the "meh, could go either way, big target men are often late developers, but the 5 year deal is a bit weird" camp. I'm in that one. I think we can all agree that the title is really f*cking stupid though. He's already better than Jordan Hugill, and Hugill looks like a baller compared to Chris Brown.
  3. We have talked before about using the loan system as a revenue stream so perhaps the idea is that he ends up going out on various loans over the next few seasons and if it looks like he has developed he's got 2 years at the end to try and make it here. However that is pretty much exactly what we did with Morris, for 6 years in fact, 6 years of loans to 7 different clubs, showed flashes of quality and the odd run of goalscoring form but ultimately by the time he left us he had 30 goals in 180 games despite time in League One, League Two and the SPL. We always knew he had some serious qualities though and he's got more about him than just sticking the ball in the net, he's good at dropping deep, holding up the ball, bringing others into play, etc. His success isn't really a great shock. Those qualities a lot less apparent in Idah. Anyway, lets just pray Pukki decides he enjoys playing for Wagner and wants to stay. I doubt it personally, can see him wanting to play a bit of Europa League somewhere, with a Turkish club or something.
  4. I mean, sure happy to 'hope', but the boat has probably sailed on him bursting onto the scene like Sutton and Bellamy, his FA Cup hat trick was 4 years ago now. He has 9 goals in 83 senior competitive appearances for Norwich and Ireland, he's a 1 in 10 striker. Probably needs a loan move but the 5 year contract is looking odd.
  5. What part of him being our only fit striker don't you understand
  6. I would have understood a 3 year deal with a season long loan next season (SPL perhaps) but 5 years is insane, don't understand the thinking there at all. Clearly a symptom of the club feeling stung by Cantwell running his contract down. But even the last manager admitted that Idah is joint compromised. There is no fix for that, once joint compromised he'll be out frequently throughout his career, so even if he improves significantly there is always going to be a relatively low ceiling for resale value.
  7. What if Rashica could just see that Dean Smith was a sh*t manager and didn't want to stick around for 5 months of turgid sh*te and chaos, could you really blame him?
  8. Dunno? What did you do? Pick it, lick it and flick it?
  9. Are there any examples of womens teams ground sharing with their mens teams though? Suspect at the top level they'd be too wary of wear and tear to the pitch caused by playing games every week. Spurs women play at Leyton Orient, and Arsenal women play at Boreham Wood, Liverpool women play at Tranmere Rovers, providing a valuable income stream to those smaller clubs in the process. Unfortunately the absence of a substantial nearby non-league or League Two side may be a hindrance to our sides prospects? King's Lynn too far, unless we perhaps accepted that a Norfolk F.C. Ladies might make more practical sense?
  10. This is all I said.. If that is picking a fight then you are hugely over sensitive or fragile, I'm putting you back on my ignore list, sweetheart, already bored to tears with your constant arguments with King Canary and others.
  11. You seem to make an argument about everything on here, don't you get bored of it? That game showed very clearly that we have a huge gaping big hole where a Tettey or Skipp needs to be, it was obvious to everybody who watched it. Play that game 10 times and that would be the outcome 9 times, they were so obviously superior, completely dominated in midfield, we could all see it and that's what the league table illustrates.
  12. Cantwell and his family are all Arsenal fans aren't they, so although he was born and raised in Dereham, I presumed that his family were all Londoners at heart?
  13. We lost the midfield battle and couldn't cope with their press. The absence of anything resembling a defensive midfielder in our team really stood out. It's easy to say that we 'turned up' against teams who haven't got the same level of midfield quality and who can't press isn't it. Play Burnley on Saturday and we'd lose just as convincingly. Might have put on a better show if we had a fit defensive midfielder on our books.
  14. We just got completely outclassed by Burnley, it had nothing to do with not turning up, they are streets ahead of any other team in this league including us.
  15. Difficult question without knowing what division we are going to be in, and which players we'd be able to successfully shift, but I've said George Cox at left back before, currently playing in Holland for Fortuna Sittard. I think he's an absolute gem, but Blackburn desperate to land him so would be some competition for his signature. I think left back is a problem area for us, I've never been wholly convinced by McCallum (although do like having a full back with aerial ability!) and Giannoulis is ridiculously inconsistent. I'd be happy if we signed Cox, cut our losses on Giannoulis and went with Cox and McCallum next season, and wouldn't surprise me if this would be budget neutral as should imagine Giannoulis is on some serious money? Also, I hope we're keeping half an eye on Jacob Murphy at Newcastle, they are bound to drop big money on an upgrade soon, probably the summer, and yet I think he walks into our team as a right winger and he's full of goals at this level. He can put himself around a bit more these days, filled out and stronger defensively, would 100 percent be a good addition... Still a decent age as well, bring him home. I suspect an obvious bit of budget cutting would be getting Krul off the pay role there is any interest left in Holland and replacing with an experienced keeper on a lower wage to compete with Gunn. Preferably somebody who has been around the block and played a fair bit of Championship football, no ideas on who though really. Obviously need a defensive midfielder, might be a decent one floating around in Bundesliga 2 or Scandinavia? Again, no real ideas, should imagine it would cost too much to steal the current number 1 DM from any top half Championship side. We're desperate to find a new Tettey!
  16. He started because he was our only fully fit striker. Pukki will likely start the next match.
  17. I think he can become a good player. A lot to learn and clearly footballing intelligence isn't coming naturally but it can improve with experience, and in terms of minutes he's not had a great deal of that. Reminds me of Jay Bothroyd, a big strong player like that with a turn of pace who can hold off defenders will cause people problems at any level, he's still really young and fresh for that type of player, big strikers tend to peak in the second half of their 20s. Can't help but feel he could work a bit harder off the ball though.
  18. There are lots of things that are legal that you wouldn't want the club emailing to fans though, surely. Like £50 in free OnlyFans credit, would you be fine with that too? KingCanary makes a valid point. If a problem gambler requests that a company bans them then they can do so, and the gambling company has to comply, the club can email stuff like this out but presumably doesn't tightly control the database to allow opt outs for certain types of content.
  19. Do you just make things up because you are too lazy to fact check? Because neither of the last two kings have worn a crown on coins. Idiot.
  20. No major league will want to go first on that as would leave a huge financial disadvantage. Fifa would have to create the rule, and they are far too easy for betting lobbyists to buy off.
  21. I sympathise with Brentfords positions though, when a similar thing is happening happening at Carrow Road these days, also a lot of money in London isn't there, could see it being a big problem of rich people being two or three different season tickets and turning up to see the star turns, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, but staying away when its Bournemouth or Wolves. I sat next to a middle class chap at the last play off final who had bought himself and his little lad a ticket on the blackmarket and said "thought it would be a good one for my sons first ever game, to be at Wembley". I said "that's brilliant, trying to get him following your team?". Turns out he wasn't a Norwich fan at all, was just somebody who fancied a day out at Wembley.
