Third Level Memories
Gentleman Jim replied to YankeeCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
As you say Yankee that team probably cemented The Canaries into our lives and ensured our loyalty to them for the subsequent fifty years or so and gave us pleasant memories of the third sphere of British football. The thing about that team was that they all fitted, each one was sound in their respective playing positions and each gave their all every match, there was never a man-of-the-match in my eyes because they were each the best. In essence they were a "team" in the real sense of the word and much of the credit for that was for manager Archie McCauley who blended this probably unrepeatable formation. -
New York Canaries Statement

Well done NYC, it''s nice to know that people so far away are so passionate about our club. -
Stefanovic wants to stay :)
Gentleman Jim replied to ncfclad's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think it is vital we keep him despite his wages, at least he wants to stay! http://www.pinkun.com/content/ncfc/story.aspx?brand=PINKUNOnline&category=Norwich&tBrand=PinkUnOnline&tCategory=Norwich&itemid=NOED07%20May%202009%2010%3A01%3A21%3A367
"Despite his wages" is not an option open to us I fear, more like because of his wage we can''t keep him. -
Rage Against The Referee
Gentleman Jim replied to Paul Spector's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
To my mind, too many games, at any level, are decided by the whim of the officials rather than the merits of the participating teams ![:@] -
Ah the last week of the PUP league ! So much has happened since we all first started this venture ! May I echo the sentiments expressed towards you Nutty, I am sure Ray would have been proud of your efforts, as indeed we all are. Man.Utd for me this week, if they reproduce that scintillating display against Arsenal then they will coast it against their neighbors Good luck Fellas, let''s finish on a high note !

People say it wasn't Gunn's team BUT.....
Gentleman Jim replied to canarynotsonew77's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
wasn''t he head of player recruitment? I know Roeder had the final say in signing but come on, surely Gunn can''t rely too much on the team not being his. Plus he did bring in his own players too - some ok, some very poor indeed. It just seems that Gunn will cling on to this job by any means necessary.
We don''t know for sure yet "Be Smart" do we ? : Even though your fictitious "man-in-smart-suit" said so ! [:D] -
Robins interviewed today
Gentleman Jim replied to Tim Dawson's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I don''t think there is much love lost between Robins and our chief scout dehan is there ? Can''t see him staying if Robins is appointed. -
Administration very close now!
Gentleman Jim replied to First Wizard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I have just been told that administration is to be announced very soon, and of course, a 10 point deduction with it. My source also told me in January that Gunn had the job, and you know I called that right too. We''re going down.
Come on Wiz my friend, we got enough "my sauce" secret-service-spy-wannabees on this Forum already without you adding to them ! -
Joe Lewis pi**ing himself!
Gentleman Jim replied to Raymond De Waard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Can''t see why he should be, if he has any ill feelings about us getting rid of him they would be directed at Roeder. -
An Important Announcement
Gentleman Jim replied to Pi$$ed As A Mattress's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Ah the first "good source" of the close season, the first of many I guess ! [:D] -
Do we need relegation to cure our ills ?
Gentleman Jim replied to Gentleman Jim's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Hmm, Well Forumites, six months ago when I raised this issue it was a hypothetical possibility, now it is reality are the plus points I raised valid do you think ? ? ? ? -
I would suggest one of many defining moments was when the board failed to lose Roeder''s application letter for the job !

MATCH THREAD - Charlton v Norwich
Gentleman Jim replied to Pete Raven's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
TAXI ! Barnsley equalised -
Does anyone really know what players do/will earn ? It seems to me that someone comes up with some unsubstantiated figure then everybody jumps in and discusses it as gospel !

Who Plymouth fans want to see relegated.
Gentleman Jim replied to Destort's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
it makes no difference who the plymouth fans want to be relegated it is how many of the team are already thinking about their summer holidays
That''s for sure spud, but they might just want to impress in their last home game. [;)] Also it''s nice to see quite a few of their fans like us a bit. [:D] -
MATCH THREAD - Norwich City v Reading
Gentleman Jim replied to Pete Raven's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
MoM for me was Cody, He never received a decent pass all the game but was great whenever he did get the ball, if he had been in the Reading team they would have won 6-0. Whatever league we in next year we must learn to play to his strengths.
