  1. There is nothing extraordinary about England’s play. I gave them the benefit of the doubt vs Croatia, since it was the opening game. But watching them play Scotland it looks as though they have nothing special to offer. No real creative movement. No real chances created. No real connectivity. Average will get them out of the group stage, but playing like this they’ll be beat in the first knockout round.
  2. So, and clarify if I’m off base here…..you believe that BK8’s advertising methods were exploratory and not exploitation?
  3. Absolutely! Anyone attempting to compare Lotus to BK8 simply demonstrates one of two states of mind: 1.) They can not distinguish the difference between sexy advertising and sexual exploitation of women. 2.) They’re trolls. I would be thrilled if Lotus was our sponsor. (Edited thanks to Son Ova Gunn’s typo catch)
  4. Wow.. quick on the draw. Quoted me before my edit!
  5. It doesn’t. I think we’re discussing something closer to fitness levels. 80 degrees F is not hot. Professional athletes should not be struggling at that temperature.
  6. Agreed. But I thought that was during the lock-down games.
  7. ?? It’s only 27C. If a professional athlete can’t function in 81F weather, they should pursue table tennis.
  8. Maybe have them as the starting eleven for the first friendly? 😉
  9. I'm sorry, but I stopped handing out boxes of tissues a long time ago. You'll be fine.
  10. Exactly! It could only have been the wages that attracted him. Villa won’t be playing in Europe anytime soon.
  11. I agree. It’s not that Emi has left that surprises me. It’s that he chose Villa! A club that finished 11th last season and competed for nothing. Maybe he chose Villa so he could still carry some swagger? He wouldn’t be a super star at a top-6 club. Did Paul Lambert jump on the Villa train a fees years back?
  12. I like where your head is at. I for one believe VAR is a great idea and a fantastic tool that the refs should use only when there is doubt in a call / no-call situation, it that the managers are allowed to use to challenge a call / no-call situation. VAR should NOT be used to dictate to, nor overrule the refs on the field of play.
  13. 4-2-3-1 with the fullbacks still doing the same job.
  14. It would be really cool if we could get on board with Umbro.
  15. Let not the opportunity for a good, stern finger wag, accompanied by a most disappointing and piercing scowl pass by! That should put them back on the straight and narrow!
  16. Thank you!!!!! I got my Fleets wrong! That is the team I was thinking of. It was driving me crazy that I couldn’t find anything about it in the Fleetwood FC history. Truly a wild experiment. Shane Long was the forward that they sold.
  17. I voted every week to trust the manager's choice.
  18. There was one attempt that I know of, because I was a part of it for two seasons; Fleetwood Town. Not sure if it is still as such. Jamie Vardy played with Fleetwood and was sold to Leicester. I bought into the fan-based ownership model and I have to say, it very quickly morphed into an animal farm scenario where some fans seemed to have more influence than others. It took forever to make a decision on new nets at the training ground. Or, who can offer architectural work or ground maintenance free of charge. Team selection was a nightmare. The manager hd to use the team line-up that the fans had voted on earlier in the week. In the end it was a bunch of Football Manager game players, playing with professional athletes careers and livelihoods. No thanks.
  19. ??? Fans having the final say is a romantic notion. First and foremost, a football club is a business that operates in the realm of entertainment. That is why smaller clubs are failing at the moment because they are losing out on game day revenue. I don’t see the fans of Kings Lynn chipping in to cover their running costs? How do you expect the fans to invest in a club when, let’s say, their contribution to a voting system to determine upgrades to the training ground is not on the ‘winning’ side? Can you imagine if employees went on strike and demanded that they have the final say as to how ‘their’ company should operate? Good lord........
