  1. It’s got to be emi’s flick! I still go weak at the knees thinking about that!
  2. I don’t want to accuse people of not realising how the goal swing can work, but at work today I’ve heard on 3/4 occasions people saying “yeah but, Leeds aren’t gonna win 5-0 twice are they”!!!! Completely forgetting that our games will count too. 11 goals over 4 games is not very many. If we were talking about a 30 goal swing or something, my feet would be up and the cigar lit! Sorry if I sound negative because I’m not. I just remember reading this message board just before the Reading game and all the comments that we were already up then. 4 unlikely, unexpected and improbable draws later and the mild twitching is forgivable think don’t you?
  3. Nobody has said that though JF! Have they! With respect, you seem to either be missing the point or you’re choosing to be facetious. of course we’re capable of getting the results we need. In all probability we will, but people’s concerns are simply due to the fact that the goal difference swing is NOT impossible. Improbable yes, impossible no. So until it is impossible some of us will wet our pants ever so slightly. A little dribble if you will.
  4. For me, talking about statistics of points per game, number of and margins of defeat is all just probability. It does nothing more than give an indication of most likely outcome. It doesn’t guarantee anything. That cannot be argued surely.
  5. Well put hansterbubble. My point is simply that until it is mathematically done, nobody can say what will or won’t happen, and in the mean time I’m nervous. Not pessimistic, nervous.
  6. And of course we’re capable of losing two on the spin. We’re not invincible.
  7. It doesn’t seem very likely at all JF. I don’t think anybody would disputes that. But, how likely did this sound? Leeds at home to Wigan, Wigan go down to ten men, Leeds go one nil up, Wigan score twice to win! It isn’t negative or pessimistic to be cautious or worried. I know my worries are largely irrational, however, “unlikely” isn’t good enough for me personally as “mathematical”, however it’s dressed up. That’s all.
  8. Also, don’t confuse pessimism with concern or worry. I have a little worry going on but I’m still confident in our team and optimistic we’ll finish the job. come on city, remind the football world on Saturday just how good you are.
  9. I’m not being pessimistic Swindon, just in case you were wondering. I’m just itching to celebrate but don’t feel like I fully can until it 100%, and no matter what people say it is definitely not 100%. It’s very strong in our favour but that is all.
  10. Why are people so adamant Leeds won’t/can’t beat villa? Leeds have been a top three team almost since day one and have put some bloody impressive results in this season. Yes, they have had a couple of dodgy results but it doesn’t make them a bad team. We’ve had 4 indifferent results but we’re still a very very good team. Leeds have more than enough to beat villa and beat them well, but thankfully so do we. It’ll come down to who can control their nerves and produce the required performance when it matters, as Sheffield united have done. No matter what anyone says, we still have a job to do.
  11. Its important to finish 3rd or 4th when in the play offs I believe because then you get to play the semi final second leg sat home.
  12. Not til it’s mathematical for me. We all got carried away before the reading game, convincing ourselves it was already done. In football, it’s never done til it’s done done! As Micky Flanagan might say!
  13. We’re on the line! I ain’t resting til it’s mathematical
  14. Whatrtttttt? That’s AGES! I’m going for a walk
  15. How long left. Someone tell me my heart is about to pop!
  16. I think I’d fans have a massive task today. Our mood affects things I believe. It took Timm Klose to gee up the lower Barclay and snake pit against reading and once we ramped it up, so did the players, and we score 2 goals within a few minutes of that. I know it didn’t end well but positivity from the stands will affect what’s happening on the pitch in the same way nerves will I think. Small advantages but let’s make it and advantage I say!
  17. I don’t think even lambert would be stupid enough to go for that job. Would be hilarious though.
  18. A very long shot I know, but I’m in need of two tickets for this game if anyone happens to not be able to make it. Please please please
  19. I don’t understand why people think Sheffield wednesdays season is over? A quick look at the table shows there are more than e ouch points left for them to nick a play off spot surely? Or am I missing something?
  20. Bad enough to keep him out for 4 games you think?
  21. I’m in need of a couple of tickets for the Sheffield Wednesday game to get me out of the dog house! does anyone know if the club sell any buybacks on the day of the match or operate some kind of waiting list or anything like that? thank you
  22. I’d like us to get them in the cup and see us play a reserve side against them and still give them a tonking
  23. Who’d have honestly thought at the beginning of the season he’d be keeping Klose and Hanley out of the starting 11? Well done Ben, and all of the youngsters. I just hope we can keep them together, I’d love to see how far they can go as a team, in a city shirt.
  24. This exactly. He is everything many modern footballers aren’t. Amazingly I think we seem to have a few characters like him around the place too. Christoph deserves all his success, when you consider where he came from and how he makes conscious efforts to improve his game. He’s one player I’d love to see spend his entire career here. He’ll be on with Rob Butler one day once he’s found a Norfolk wife to keep him here! Those people that think the premiership would be a step too far for him, what do you base that on? His game on game improvements to me suggest he would quickly become a premiership class defender if he isn’t already. I remember Arsene Wenger being quite taken aback by him when we played them last year. Didn’t he ask Farke where on earth he found him? Something like that. He can do it, he will do it, have no doubts about that. A true canary legend in the making.
  25. And they love him! Come to think of it, so do I with that record. Keep up the good work agent lambert! seriously though, I’m pretty certain we wouldn’t be so accommodating if we had an ex-scum manager, with that record, taking us down to league 1. There’s something not right in all of their heads I think. Very bizarre
