  1. Yellow if you read my post you will see im a sit on the fence type...simply because i have no idea how Ricky will do this season naturally. I have zero opinion on what the guy did before Alex said wipe the slate clean / give him a break. All i can say is in the few weeks since he came back he has does everything Alex required of him. Finally my personal wish is for Ricky to have a good happy season with us and enjoy himself as a team member of Norwich City. I wish this of course for every player that adorns our yellow and green colours.
  2. Palace would swoop on him in an instant. and that would satisfy his urge to stay in London...if  only Bournemouth would have Murray and we have Gayle..after next tuesday  it will feel surreal to have no transfer rumours to ponder about.
  3. The source announced the player is 24 years old of the shelves of Norwich...err right. Have to love Google translate >.>
  4. LDC is right...all this opinions on wether Ricky has been good or not the last 2 seasons...majority here seem to have long memories but not short ones. When Ricky came back for pre season training just a few short weeks ago Alex talked with the guy and stated that the slates wiped clean. In effect Ricky has started a new chapter in his football career with City, he needs to be viewed  and opinionated about on his time under Alex Neil. In those short few weeks he has he has worked hard, impressed the manager, played his first full 90 mins (albeit maybe with no choice as a certain other striker did not fancy warming his behind on the bench), and scored the winner that got City through to next round of the cup.At the end of this season  we can rightly say yes he was poor or mediocre or great. Alex said give the guy a break..we should do just that
  5. If you listen to Kenny Jackett from BBC WM in the last hour he reiterates what hes  been saying for ages that Afobe will be a Wolves player come deadline day. I have said on these forums many times last few days that Afobe would not come here. I hope City finally get the message and put no more bids in, its time we accepted enough is enough.
  6. Yes all the best to Michael Turner, he was not everyones favourite but he was an honest tryer. This does leave our defence woefully short on back up, but same time frees up a slot for a new defender. Makes you think City are confident of bringing a new guy in, otherwise Turner may have stuck around. Same scenario up front, with Hooper, he will stay with City at least until such time City are confident a new forward is coming in.
  7. There is always the possibility that Lewis Grabban will stay a City player and even force his way back into the first team. This scenario does not depend on what is written on the forums. It is about whats inside Lewis Grabbans head after his ill advised actions at Rotherham, and about how Alex deals with him after next week. Stranger things have happened in football.
  8. According to Daily Mail in last half hour our chase for Afobe has  about ended and we are going back to Dwight Gayle...lol full circle then.
  9. First this has shifted somewhat away from Redders OP so sorry for that. I have never said  anywhere that Wolves would sell Afobe for 20 mill as you are suggesting i  have said. I said i was basing my opinions on the statement from the Wolves manager who categorically says that Afobe will be at Wolves come end of deadline..so if the guy is not for sale...then he will not be sold for under 20 mill...is that so hard to understand?I could have said under 50 mill...but i plumped for 20. to me not for sale means not for sale...despite some mirror journo saying 14 mill is Wolves valuation.
  10. T was asked what basis did i have for saying likely Afobe would not be sold for under 20 mill...its simple..Kenny Jackett has said after each Norwich bid that Afobe is not for sale..and that come end of transfer window he will still be a Wolves player, That is the Wolves manager...3 times  saying the same thing. I like to go with whats said officially. Anything else is pure conjecture and meaningless until its changed. If most people would rather think that Afobe is worth 14 mill...a report from some guy in the Mirror..fine but im simply sticking with the official words of their manager.Afobe also said last night at the Wolves v Barnet game hes not leaving Wolves.
  11. Im just speculating..as this is what this post is about..but i have at least been  looking at the Molineux Mix forums...and seen the official responses from the club...ofc i dont know..is why i said "likely"..but if you put more regard and belief into what 1 solitary journo wrote than what the official Wolves response is...then go ahead.Theyve turned down 3 bids already...the latest of 10 mill...which is already 500% higher than Wolves paid just 8 months ago..my point is how much further will City bid?..all these last few weeks speculation has been about Destro, Austin, Afobe others...all who would command big fees...yet here we are a few days to go and no one has come in or gone out for weeks...i merely said  we may go with what we have...which Alex said is no great concern..but "if forced" to buy...it may have to be players  with less high price...like Collins and Jelavic.
  12. Ive posted this elsewhere already but...this so called 14 mill is a myth..it was a figure mentioned by 1 journo from the Daily Mirror...Wolves have never, ever quoted 14 mill or any sell price connected with Afobe..its likely they would not accept anything under 20..no one has to be ITK to understand that.
  13. Speculation scenario has been playing for weeks already...but anyway.. i would be happy if Alex is happy.Afobe will not be coming here, and chance Grabban and Hooper will still be here despite all the rumours. I believe if forced to get a forward  and  defender in before deadline we will end up with guys like Collins from West Ham and Jelavic at Hull..but Alex may end up going with what we have now...he has said hes not overly concerned.
  14. Lot of assumptions here about 14 mill for Afobe...in fact likely Wolves have much higher valuation...20 mill or higher..this 14 mill figure was rumoured by 1 solitary guy in the Mirror...Wolves themselves have never given out any sell price they would happy with to the public or media.
  15. Is it not irrelevant he was 8mill?..or how he played 2 seasons ago under Hughton?..or what he was like with St. Etienne?..my point is Alex "wiped the slate clean" with Ricky..meaning nothing what happened prior to Alex coming in had any importance. But fans of course are allowed their opinions and their memories. I for one view what Ricky does under Alex Neil..not concerned with the previous seasons. So far the guy has everything Alex asked of him. Alex is pleased with him. What role he has under Alex in the future we will find out.Ricky is a likeable guy, hes Norwich City and he has not let Alex down in any way. Im happy for the guy and happy he plays for City.
  16. That would leave Wolves in a massive dilemma, selling Afobe will cause a huge backlash from their fanbase who already clamour for many new additions to their squad but recognise that funds will only come from the sale of Afobe, But to sell him on the last day of the transfer window gives Kenny Jackett zero time for replacements. But that is their problem of course, not ours.Seem like City are once again doing this just with Robbie Brady...they know the guy they want and up the price with each bid, only with Afobe the bids are coming in quicker  owing to the time frame situation...but will City persist?..bidding this high is now new territory for the club..interesting.
  17. Pretty nailed that two will be gone by transfer deadline day...oh really?..there has been weeks and weeks of speculation regarding Mr. Hooper and Mr. Grabban but as of this time they are still City forwards and until anything is made official from the club  nothing changes, we have Cam, Ricky, Kyle, Lewis and Gary...that is 5 i believe.Im pretty much past caring about rumours of comings and goings, lets just wait for anything official happening maybe?..OTBC.
  18. So, todays "Norwich are interested in"  rumours are Pritchard and Amat..ok fine. Honest, i will be happy come next tuesday when all this rumour nonsense finally ends, its starting to get pretty meaningless though its good clean fun i guess. If we get anyone new in then great, if we dont then also great. it will be just nice to concentrate on the actual matches and not bust our heads on this guy or that guy may join City.I suppose the forums will go a bit more quiet though :)
  19. Not a chance to get Afobe, its clear Wolves will look for at least 15 mill and City will never pay a price that high, if rumours are right they would not pay 15 mill for Austin even. Not that Austin would come here anyway, he has his heart set on a move to West Ham or another London club. As to why would City bid a 2nd time when Wolves already said no sale..well same as Bournemouth bidding 2 or 3 times for Grabban even though Alex has said firmly no selling to a rival...you still hope that your money talks louder than their words,,,sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesnt.
  20. Watched the Arsenal v Liverpool match tonight..Arsenal managed 15 shots and Liverpool 19..some were on target, saved by good goalkeeping, some were very wayward. 34 shots between them and it ended 0-0.Lewis has had his fair share of bashing, but hes an integral part of our team, he does what he does and Alex regards him as important to us. At some point this season Cam may injured and Lewis will likely have to step up and play his part. We should keep this guy, not allow him to go. The transfer window is  coming to its end to very quickly and i sense even odds we  will not get anyone new in, so players like Lewis will be essential. Plus if hes good enough in the managers eyes then i support him 100%
  21. Vids on the tube show Michy to be a very class dribbler, also can seem to do amazing tricks, but really dont think hes Alexs type of forward if you read some peoples comments on him. Seem hes a bit of a showboater and also very selfish to. One Standard Liege fan even said his selfish attitude cost Liege the title when Michy was with them. That is just opinions of course, plus IF Alex and Co were even watching the Marseilles game there was 22 players on the pitch..so guessing is a pointless random thing...but fun to anyway. I do like the look of Marseilles  Cameroon CB though...he looks classy.
  22. Stay calm?...not get complacement?..whats that all about Crabby?I see no complacency in these forums...fans are always acknowledging the weaknesses of the city side..pointing out our need for striker / centre back etc..but come on...staying calm?...since AN came in the transformation to how we play has been amazing..the first 3 games in the prem we are playing some fantastic exciting football..with everyone giving their all..thats   what every Norwich fan wants above anything else..nah...these are times to be joyful and happy about our club..remaining calm is for another time and situation.
  23. Wolves have much deeper rooted problems than trying to keep Afobe,  their comments about building a team around Afobe are laughable if you read the Wolves forums. Their fans are more worried about the entire team they have right now, seem like only 6 to 8 new signings will save them from a freefall. Wether this has any bearing on us managing to attract Afobe here is another thing. One things for sure...yes their fans would be far from happy seeing him move to Norwich...but to Villa?...wow if that ever happened Kenny Jacket would never get out of Wolverhampton alive.
  24. This one has more of a solid ring to it than just plain rumour, especially after it seems  just like 5 mins ago AN was talking about nothing to the rumours concerning GH and instead saying he and Ricky were in his eyes part of his squad etc etc...this is typical football...got to love it.
  25. Interesting that Papy Djilobodji is the Nantes CB...6 feet 4inch, Senegal international, rumoured strongly to want to play in the prem, also Nantes willing to listen to offers around 5 mill. He looks  very athletic on youtube, think would be great next to Seb. Linked with Sunderland for some weeks it seems..maybe they could have done with him last week!..Anyway as hes already used to playing in yellow and green maybe a move from the Canaries to the Canaries would make him feel like hes not moved at all .
