  1. Yes, Jim, that''s true, and I admire Smudger for at least doing what he''s said he would do, although his approach may need some fine tuning. Doncaster and Munby are well rehearsed before they face the fans. What they privately think of some of us only occasionally surfaces, they are professional (I know this takes some believing) and used to taking stick/flak. I also suspect that when faced by people such as Andy Larkin they are worried. More of you, Andy and we might get to hear some of the answers we have been waiting for for over a decade.
  2. Well done to Nigel and Alan, I suspect a lot of us minor shareholders and supporters in general share your views. Time to put the pressure on. I am not sure of the implications of this, but can someone let me know how and what''s needed to call an EGM to tell the board we have no confidence in their running of the club?
  3. An excellent list there Jafksi, I will be claiming back my rebate, and my son''s on his behalf, and will be putting that money aside for future use. Funding a Doncaster leaving do for example! No seriously, this is a chance for all season ticket holders to have a say on board policy, I have heard some supporters say (at the Open Day) that they are willing to leave the money where it is at present, for me I intend to make my point to the board and will probably use your list or add to it to put my views across.
  4. I disagree Felix fan (love the beach huts by the way). I think it''s absolutely essential the board appoint someone with football knowledge, whether it''s in addition or instead of the current people there.
  5. Cam - have been to Gillingham, an away match midweek, was one of Crouch and Hucks'' first games for us, great match and great goals, shame about the rickety terrace which shook everytime we moved. Aggro is right though, just got a sinking feeling when wandering around the town. Very strange place, like Stoke in the 70s. I have been to Blackpool, but believe for freezing temperatures, Oldham did it for me, if I don''t put in the old Bolton ground in a cup replay in the mid 90s, now that was COLD!! Aggro there too as we held an Chase Out demonstration and one old lady hit me with her handbag and called me a disgrace to the club. lol
  6. It certainly brightened the day for one dedicated fan of the club, that''s for sure!
  7. Badger, I think there are enough of us who are completely and utterly fed up with those running our club, and also plenty who together can collate some good ideas and the funds to make a difference. I would certainly give all I can to such a campaign. Publicity is key, and for me we have to start with the local press. The columnists are largely critical of the club, it''s the editors and staff writers who just don''t come out and say enough when they have the ideal platform. IF they genuinely think the board are the best people to carry on running us into the ground, then so be it, if not then the editor and staff need to speak out. We also need all supporter groups to work together on this. If they are still largely in agreement with the status quo, I think fans at large need to know this. If not, then we should all be working on solutions to help our club, despite the large brick walls in the way.
  8. He was top of my list last time, but not sure he wants to leave Rotherham. Also, is it wise appointing an ex city player, even one who mercifully isn''t tarnished with an association with the present board?
  9. Well, there''s a great start. Thing is, even if those two go, I am sure Delia can drum up another two willing mugs to replace them. However they could have gone a tad further and commented on the rest of the board of directors. Do they think Delia and Michael and Michael Foulger are competent and doing a good job?
  10. Open terrace, now there''s something to soothe on this most trying of days. Hope most of that is standing, be worth the trip. Huddersfield is a decent ground, remember going there, and losing soon after it had opened. Tranmere has always been one of my favourites due to a cracking chip shop nearby and friendly staff. Remember the foggy game anyone? Brighton, always tough to get a ticket for that one too. Walsall, another favourite, and a great fans club next to ground, again very friendly, unlike their near neighbours. Wycombe, god we have been to most of these places in the past really haven''t we, Swindon, worth a trip alone just for the roundabout system. What fun!! Oldham, coldest place on this earth.....remember a dire performance there many moons ago. Wycombe, fond memories, lovely ground. Oh it''s getting a bit nostalgic, might start enjoying it in a minute. Help!! Stockport, fine, good for shopping at the Trafford Centre.....
  11. So, just because Doncaster rules something out, we have to either believe or agree with him. I don''t think so. The moment I believe a word he says is the day I give up all hope.
  12. Henry, if you can tear yourself away from whichever of your wives you are up to at this moment can you round up Doncaster and Munby and condemn them to the tower. Please?
  13. I hear your bouquet ended up in an interesting place too. lol....
  14. Still sadly the day Martin O''Neill walked away, IMO the start of the rot. Though have to say today at the forum pushes it very close. When will we ever learn?
  15. West London, she turned up the year we were promoted, so she can be bothered sometimes.
  16. Yeah, have to admit when I got home tonight I wondered why I had even bothered going today. It''s not that I didn''t hear or see anything I didn''t expect. I expected it all. I just wondered, after seeing the team relegated to a position we had not been in for 50 years, that a few more people might just start asking why this had happened. What we got was still an awful lot of people completely happy for the old crew to keep on going with the same old stuff. Relegation was bad enough, acceptance of it by so many is heartbreaking.
  17. The whole issue is difficult, because all of us who are supporters, whether ST holders or not, love the club and all have our own level of what we individually feel is the right thing to do, based on what we feel we want for the club. There are those (and they are many) who will go, come what may, under whatever manager, board, whatever because they see the club, ie the badge, colours, heritage etc as what the club is, ie what they are there to support. They will cite the personnel at any one time irrelevant, they are supporting the history and culture of NCFC. After this you get support in descending levels. Some (and again there are many) support the club because of Delia. I personally have met them, and know of them first hand, some are not NCFC fans, but fans of Delia. They were not here before she arrived on the board of directors and I doubt they will be here after she has departed. Then the rest, most of us in other words, most of us with many year of support behind us. We just want to support the club we love to the best of our ability. Some of us will stop going at periods of time to implement a "protest" against certain people/managers/loss of form/league position or players. Something happens to force us to question our support, and we may use of of these reasons as why we are not attending at any one time. Should we all send our season tickets back/cancel DDs just because we don''t agree with the policies of the board or the level of quality on the pitch? Of course, if that''s right for you. After all, the most important thing is making our own decision, and for me, that''s exactly what I will do. I am angry, disappointed and despondent with how this club is being run (into the ground by degrees) but am I going to let the likes of Munby and Doncaster keep me away? No, quite the opposite. I was raised to support the team and the club by my dad, who by the way, also taught me to question things I felt were not right. So there you are. We are all different in finding reasons as to why we should or should not renew our tickets, and until we have some sort of settled side, manager who can cope with all aspects of the job and a competent and proactive board I guess we will not all think as one. Don''t hold your breath waiting for that moment though!
  18. And Smith must score......please step forward to your acclaim. Well done old mate. Classic fancy dress too by the sounds of it.
  19. You think so, sorry and maybe this is just how I feel at the moment, but as I see it, it will be Cody McDonald and the reserve team v all the hit and hope merchants in the league we find ourselves in, most of them will view us as new and a reasonably big club fallen and a scalp they will itch to beat. Tough physical players and we don''t do competing against any of that, remember the days of Wimbeldon, and we had a half decent team then as well, plus managers.
  20. If I was a betting woman, which I am not, I would say Gunn had the job in the bag. He also mentioned he would be compiling a list of those he thought should stay. No news of investment, just Doncaster going over the same old stuff, you know it all.
  21. Yes, have to agree with you Chops, Smudger gave a good account of himself, he may not be everyone''s cup of tea, but he turned up and faced the board and there were plenty of fans who turned on him. Hostile was the word, from both sides of the fence.
  22. More than a tear. Great video by the way, what really set me off today was reading through some old programmes at the Open Day, from 1983, 1987 and 1993. Not so long ago, but might as well be light years away now.
  23. I am female, not sure if you are aware of that, was wearing a purple top and jeans, standing next to Gary, Smudger''s brother and next to Keith Roads. Sorry but I don''t remember who a lot of people are, it''s my age!!
  24. Old Boy, you make some excellent points and it''s really common sense, but sadly if you are pointing the finger at the board, and for the sake of this post I will just emphasise I mean Doncaster and Munby here as they were there today, "answering" questions and giving the same stale old statements and acting as if we had merely lost a few games, not thrown our heritage down the pan. They will never learn. They say they will, but in my heart of heart I know they won''t. They still won''t admit to making mistakes, being misguided or lacking skills. In fact Doncaster in response to that very point (the board lacking financial or footballing skills) said that they possessed skills alright, and some we were not aware of. I do however (maybe it''s wishful thinking, but on body language alone) sense a split or difference in thinking between Munby and Doncaster. I have to say this is my own very personal opinion, but I have absolutely ZERO faith in anyone on the board to make a rational or intelligent decision over appointing a manager capable of taking this club forward. I also have no faith in them to tell me anything of relevance and expect more of the same old, same old tired old spin, plus of course soon to come a guilt trip package trying to persuade us not to claim our rebate back "so they can invest in the team". When I have confidence that the board will invest in the team, I will gladly gift them that money, and more, but today has given me even less confidence that they are either competent or can answer a question succinctly or honestly. They are still feted and applauded by enough fans who think they are doing the right things for the club, while this continues, they are unlikely to appoint anyone who might rock the boat and start telling them things they don''t want to hear. If relegation wasn''t bad enough, still having these incompetent fools in charge of our club makes it ten times worse. As for fans being powerless to realise or force change, then if we give up our club will never prosper, not under the current regime. It''s time for us all to decide what we want to do. Old Boy, I certainly don''t advocate personnel hatred but I do wish for a voice and a campaign to challenge the boards'' policy and thinking.
  25. Not really LGT, there was only a few steward type people there this morning when I taped it up. As I live pretty close by, can replace it whenever really. Adding to that, a fan who made some excellent points at the forum tried to hand another bouquet to the board while questioning them, but the chap with the mic ignored the gesture.
