  1. This is a great idea, a novelty aspect which is bound to appeal. Plus it''s got a fun element but (if done really well) will hit home where it hurts.
  2. That very point was raised last night, (was it you Evil) so definitely something to look into I would say.
  3. Thanks for that Pete, was wondering where it had got to. Looks like I will have to buy the papers again, third day running!
  4. Beau, my better half is a musician on the local music scene, he would probably know of a recording studio and people who could at least give some input into this. Trouble is he''s not a city fan, and it''s a bit of a hard work conversion in progress, lol. Blah, anymore info you would care to share with us?
  5. CUSDP - last night was just a start, overall the aim was to hear what fans had to say on the state of the club and to gauge that opinion. There were ideas from many fans on how to move forward and no doubt NCISA will receive phone calls and emails from those unable to attend as well. There is a meeting tonight for the committee where we will begin to collate all the views expressed and plan a strategy, this will be communicated to fans as soon as we can. Maybe this meeting will inspire other fans to either join or hold meetings elsewhere in the country, there is a large supporter base in London for example. Whatever happens as a result of last night, there has to be a clear and united message sent to the board. Don''t bet against the assembled there having an impact though CUSDP, the media were there in full force and it will be recorded and reach those at the club. Personally speaking I feel a huge responsibility for all of those present, some I spoke to last night surprised me with their views, and I am not talking about the people (posters on here) that I already know. There were many passionate long standing fans there, many far older than me and not the stereotypical rabble rousers so often portrayed by the club as a minority. The meeting itself was conducted in good spirit and everyone was able to speak without interruption. It''s not going to be an overnight thing is it, it''s taken us a long time to get to this, years of underachievement on the pitch and ineffective leadership off it. If we are to make a stand against what''s gone wrong we have to consider every option and canvas every viewpoint. If anyone feels they can help achieve this, make your feelings and ideas known to NCISA.
  6. Hi all, great to see the comments above. I speak as one of those on the committee who are meeting later today to discuss the opinions shared last night and to collate those views and form a plan of action. A press statement will be released at the soonest opportunity. After that NCISA will seek a chance to represent those views with the present board of directors. There were many suggestions about where we go from here. All of them will be addressed. It''s no good me just stating what I think, NCISA are there to represent the views of all members, though on the evidence of last night''s attendees (and those who got in touch via phone or email beforehand) action (in whatever form) is what most want. What we do need (and not particularly speaking as a NCISA committee member here) is more people to join up. For me the most important aspect of what happens now is for those supporters who want a change of thinking at the top is to have someone credible to take that view forward and formulate ways to express those views and in a way they will be taken seriously. IMO we need to gain much more support from fans at large, and to gain confidence from them that NCISA, together with other fan groups, can make a difference and give a vital voice to those fed up, disaffected and thoroughly disillusioned by what''s happened at our club. More than a few people joined last night and we can only hope that continues, but in reality we need many thousands to do the same, or alternatively form an all encompassing group with other interested bodies and individuals to press for change. As many have already said it was good to have a meeting where everyone respected each others views. The votes were pretty decisive on Gunn''s appointment, the rebate of season tickets and vote of no confidence in the board. Can''t give exact numbers as yet, but more detailed analysis of the evening will follow as soon as we can collate it. Thanks to all for your patience while coming into the meeting, there were moments when the doorway was packed with people. Just speaking for myself, I feel as a committee member a huge responsibility to those NCISA members and other supporters and I think all the committee would agree with that. We will all be doing our best to bring about change, and if anyone who reads this thinks they can help in any way, please get in touch with NCISA via the NCISA website, where all our contact details are available. Special mention to Bigfeller, great to meet you - you talk a lot of sense, keep in touch. And it was so nice to see Nutty and Face getting on so well, and also to Smudger who was on his best behaviour.
  7. Spot on Shefcanary, even if that''s what she does, to admit to it in public is not exactly going to give us cause for any optimism that they either have a clue what to do or the drive to get us back to something resembling a respectable position. Perhaps she really is preparing for retirement! We can only hope.
  8. Munby''s PR company were paid £25,000 a year in lieu of his services to the club, it''s in the accounts and has been well documented in the press.
  9. Actually it was in yesterday''s paper Wiz, and don''t for one minute think I am defending their actions, but I am not prepared to make up stuff to back up my opinions. The board have to have four people sitting on it to operate. The fact they "let him go" just points to their total lack or reason and credibility when he''s still there later on, albeit stripped of his former role. IF he''s there to stay (but as a director, not the Chairman) then I guess we will know, when they decide to tell us. Personally I don''t think he will be staying, but as for all of us, we just don''t know do we?
  10. Come on people, it''s not Bryan''s fault he loves the club. I am sure there is a dark side to him, as there is in most people if we are totally honest, but let''s not be diverted from the root cause of the problem here. That''s the majority shareholders. We hear so little from Mr Foulger, so not sure what to make of him, does he agree with Delia and Michael and did he support that appointment yesterday? Whoever is manager, one thing is certain, there will be an ongoing decline, depending on degrees as to how good the football manager is, but decline nevertheless under this board. 13 long years of them and where are we? Are we any better off than when they took over? Any richer for it? Better players? No, the only plus you can pin on them is perhaps the larger crowds, but even that is open to debate, and the person responsible for those (Andrew Cullen) saw the light and left for a club run with more ambition and purpose. So, never mind who the manager is, and yes it''s a disastrous and ill thought out appointment, but the buck, as they say stops at the top. Let''s just hope those with any influence over our club can make steps to persuade Delia and Michael it really is time to go.
  11. Agree with you Blah. We are a great prospect for an up and coming manager, as the potential at NCFC if huge, if it were run in a proper and businesslike way with the board making rational decisions. If Gunn fails what position will we be in and who would take over then? Who''s running the box office these days?
  12. Shareholder Fairy You have the passion, I have the passion, a few thousand city fans have the passion, but the big question is: Who has the ability and qualifications? To appoint someone who can achieve we must assume the right criteria is addressed from the outset. That means the interview panel (if there is an interview in the first place) have to draw up what qualities candidates must possess. As this is for our football manager we can assume a CV with evidence of building a squad (preferably fairly cheaply), man management skills, motivational skills, media handling skills and so on. Some evidence of a recent promotion would have been a bonus. Yes Roeder did a lot of damage, but Smith and Jones are just carrying that on. This is not a happy club. Fans divided over what is best, players leaving a sinking ship, directors "let go". Don''t think that Roeder was the start of the rot, he just carried it on, adding new and highly visible attractions such as loan players and being rude to the fans. We are in a recession, but this hasn''t harmed poor old Burnley and Sheffield United has it? Why is this, is it just due to them having directors or investors with money, or a better business approach? Doncaster was always at pains to point out all other clubs had wealthy benefactors. And what about ours? Constantly at pains to say just how much she''s put into the club over the years, to say nothing of the money the board has squandered. Why can''t we compete with all those clubs who finished above us? Why haven''t we been able to compete for a long time now? Simple. Wrong people in charge, wrong philosophy. Sorry, but in no way can relegation be a blessing in disguise, it just sets us back years. Sadly relying on the people who caused relegation will set us back even more. Administration? Quite possible, but not as a result of driving Delia and Michael out, more likely as a result of their continued failure to secure investment. The Chairman of Sheffield Wednesday jumps on a plane to San Francisco to look for investors keen on investing in English football clubs. And we do, what exactly. There are plenty of stories doing the rounds, consortiums, buy out deals. We can only hope that something along those lines happens, for if Delia and Michael remain in control much longer we are facing all our fears.
  13. I am afraid I did, Cam, i only buy the paper when NCFC do their annual clear out sales.
  14. Konstantin, it''s very simple, we are run by a bunch of amateurs. I don''t know why anyone is surprised at anything that''s happened over the last few days, or indeed the past season, or even the last few years.
  15. Exactly Smithy, the pair have scaled the heights in their time with a healthy back catalogue of scary/inappropriate/laughable moments, but yesterday was a prime example. You felt you were watching a very bad film made by a group of media studies students. What must the rest of football be thinking? I suppose the only plus point is it may wake up a few more city fans to the real endemic problem at NCFC but I am not holding my breath.
  16. First, for some reason (the chance of catching some breaking news) I am listening to Radio Norfolk. Wonderful quote from Chris Goreham just a few moments ago. "Norwich City are now using Radio Norfolk to conduct their job interviews for them" Classic! Oh and an item on knitting coats for rescue chickens, what have I been missing all my life?
  17. Wiz, he has to stay "in the interim" as the board cannot operate with less than four people. You would have thought replacements were lined up before they got rid of both of them, but then again, it''s NCFC we are talking about. Nothing that comes out of that boardroom surprises me anymore, what does is just how many people just can''t see the damage they are doing. If it hasn''t become apparent this week that Delia and Michael just don''t have a clue, then the penny is never going to drop.
  18. Very well said NMTD. Think you are right about the way our club is going and that we are again heading for a Chase Out style outcome. The remaining board members are clueless (I am still not sure of exactly how Foulger fits into all of this, does he get a say or is it just the couple with all the shares?) - but as he rarely makes statements I assume he agrees with them. Clueless and determined to hang onto their shares and their control, no matter what happens to the club. Whether or not we go to the friendlies or not, while those two are in control there''s only one way the club is heading, and it''s not upwards. What happened yesterday only emphasised that even more. A disastrous appointment for manager and a simply shocking press conference. Were we once a football club who achieved things? It''s getting more and more difficult to remember.
  19. I will be very sad to see him go. For me he was the ONE highlight in our playing side last season. The ONLY bit of creativity we had. Not his fault he was playing amongst clueless wonders and those who really didn''t care. Simply have to say Hoolahan was in the wrong team at the wrong time. Shame he wasn''t with us during our better times, but he wasn''t. Good luck wherever you go Wes and thanks for at least giving us a few bright spots in a very sorry season with some creativity and thought in midfield. We had a few in there blundering around who most equalled to those with effort, but how many goals did centre midfield create once Wes was out injured? Fact of life all the better contracted players will go, that''s the price we pay for relegation.
  20. Surely what we have to ask is would Andrew Cullen see moving back here as a step in the right direction? I doubt he would. MK Dons are on the up, we on the other hand.....
  21. Lupo, completely agree re the local journalists. Some of their articles pick out negative aspects of a certain game, indeed some even hint that we need professional people at Carrow Road, but when they cover any sort of ''event'' such as a new appointment, or indeed the interview of the manager after the game when do any of them ask any searching questions? No really, when do they? So where are the journalists? I thought, perhaps wrongly, that the whole reason for being a journalist was to ask questions and to get at the truth. In NCFC''s case, this has been neglected in favour of keeping the club sweet. Alongside that we have been spoon fed spin for years and what is so sad is a large proportion of city fans have no idea what they think (it''s all mapped out for them via the press, listening to Canary Call, listening or reading statements from the club). So is it any wonder no one really knows who is for or against those who run the club, for or against Bryan Gunn''s appointment? Excuse the pun, but after today, just maybe the Emperor''s new clothes may just be about to fall off. Seeing Delia and Michael on SSN earlier tonight I was struck with two things. Firstly how out of touch they are and how uncomfortable they look. They have backed themselves into a corner and if Gunn fails what will they have to respond with? Are they hastily seeking investment? Are they looking to appoint new board members (they need to to be able to make any decisions at board level, or are they content to ''loan'' Roger Munby for the moment to facilitate decision making). WE need these questions asked, and answers sought by our local press. I would personally like to see the editor(s) of both papers each make a statement or editorial as to why no relevant or biting questions are ever asked of the board. So we have to do it ourselves. The NCISA meeting is a start and we can only hope that others join in. Other fan groups, concerned local businessmen who could help, but are never approached. Anyone with something to say, but as yet haven''t been given the platform in which to do so.
  22. Grif, one question, who was the inept person in charge of player recruitment for those years you quoted? Clue, he''s got another job now.
  23. There was a small bit on Look East BES, s just got in and happened to be watching if for the weather, well what do you know! Interesting, and above all interesting timing. For those who know all about company law and such, how long can the club do business without a CE, Chairman and only three people on the board of directors?
