  1. Fulham all day for me. Purely because it''s my belief that Cardiff (and there are others in the English football league) should be playing their football in the Welsh leagues. Never understood it.
  2. All I can say regarding that performance against Chelsea is as my post title describes. So proud of the way we played. Heads held high, and something to carry onto the next league game, for sure.
  3. We all hear and see how clubs of late treat cup games as a chance to put out a weakened team to preserve the better players for the more high profile games, and this is how it feels today. This game should never have been treated with such disregard. Burton are in the same league as us, and on merit, and we shouldn''t have seen this as a chance to effectively rest players, which is what seems to be the idea here. Why should we treat Burton any differently to Millwall after all? This league is cutthroat, and this is surely a well known fact of The Championship. Should never have taken anything for granted in thinking we have a "super strength" squash with the capability of rotating as such. I was there at the Brum game, and we were decent. To make those changes is wrong, one such a vast level at least. Please learn: NOT A CUP GAME, and THREE POINTS at stake.
  4. Oh dear. This is grim reading. Fulham are not anything special, so it does seem strange how they are the bogey team. However, after relegation, they are not doing so well and hopefully by the last game of the season, they will have nothing to play for after a bad season for them and they could well roll over. *I say with my fingers crossed*
  5. Interesting quote from AN on the Wigan game tomorrow. He doesn''t want any of the players to feel comfortable, of course in the context of a presumed start or a presumed position. For me hearing this, I find it quite refreshing to hear a manager speak so openly about no player being safe with the intention of hard work and grit being held in the player''s minds as a must do. What do others think of this?
  6. I am thinking a win, but only a narrow one. 1-0 or 2-0 perhaps at best. From a player perspective, I do think the key here is infact respect. We have to go into this game respecting Blackpool and not assuming we will win. That could be fatal. Yes they are in a hell of a muddle, but they are still in the same league as us. After all, a struggling wounded animal can have the worst bite.
  7. Should this be true, good on them. They deserve to be ambitious and I can''t see them fluffing promotion up
  8. So being paid thousands of pounds per week isn''t enough reason for the players to go out and try? Yesterday was of course, terrible, and I think we have every right to not get behind the team when they play like that. Given they are paid so much compared to the average fan means they have to earn our backing. I couldn''t turn up to my job, be really crap and then expect my manager to back me. I have to earn theirs and my colleagues respect.
  9. Summed up well there MP. The question here is, should we be being outclassed by Brentford?
  10. A rephrasing of your subject required here I think. "New Squad Needed". The lot of them are not fit to wear the shirt.
  11. It was a penalty. Replays show this. Even if we hadn''t conceeded the penalty, we would have lost anyway. Brentford seemed to be more up for it and would have pushed for the winner.
  12. I think all will agree that we were absolutely terrible today and deserved our loss. I personally do not think we played as badly as we did today since Hughton. We can''t pass, we can''t retain possession, and was completely disgusted by the lack of team cohesion. Brentford seemed to have the ability to pass the ball around, working the ball into the box with a degree of efficiency and success, so why on earth could we not do this?! Disgrace today and I cannot blame the boos that rang out afterwards to be honest. Something needs to be done by AN as soon as possible. We need to go back to the very basics of football as we are not getting these right. I am now of the belief to a most extent that our players are not actually as good as everyone seems to think. I think a lot of them are over-rated and would struggle in League 1 under Alex Ferguson, although questions should be raised on AN for not dealing with the situation today. He is supposed to be a manager to fire up players and sort them out when playing like a pile of cack isn''t he? Maybe not. We''ll see I suppose.
  13. Hopefully we won''t be in that situation given the amount of keepers we have, but if we were to be, I would say Turner. Tall and quite built. Lafferty is tall, but isn''t particularly built.
  14. They all end up back here anyway so I can''t imagine you will be wrong on that one. Such a great place to live though, so can''t blame them.
  15. I did not know that, Nutty. I might have done, but it was only a glance, and by the time it registered it was him, I had gone into Chapelfield. He was on way out.
  16. Just walked past Nigel Worthington at Cafe Rouge Chapelfield. He was with his wife. Possibly nothing in it now as it seems we are going for Alex Neil, but thought might be worth bringing up.
  17. Upper, you have hit the nail on the head with the Millwall thing. They were awful and we had a great day out. We left happy, bouncing and positive. Far more fun than playing Everton, and coming away from CR losers with a poor performance from us.
  18. Excuse some spelling/grammar errors. Typing from a phone with a small screen
  19. I just thought I would post something from a different angle on here. Granted, we are not doing great in the champ, but surely we were more dire in the prem. The point I am making is, yes the prem offers vast sums of money which football is all about these days sadly BUT, as entertainment as foot all indeed is, I think the championship is far more value for money. We go into games with optimism rather than the thought of how much we are going to lose by as we would in the prem and are aiming for glory. In my view, this is more value for my buck as a season ticket holder. The days of being in league one destroying teams and the last time we were promoted to them prem from the champ, we were on the whole entertaining and awesome to watch. I am not saying we should stay put and refuse promotion for example, but if we do stay in this league after this season, is it so bad? Obviously we want to start winning some more but surely there is more chance of this in the champ then the prem where we leave disheartened and annoyed. I not a pessemist, but just looking on some positives of remaining in this league should that happen. It is more entertaining and for us, more chance of being one of the best teams rather than the team everyone beats in the prem. Ideally, we will of course be in the prem and growing as a club, and yes, it can happen, but is not very likely right now. Feel free to slate my "negativity" but I can genuinely see positives, value for money and ente tainment-wise from being in the champ
  20. I have to agree with Morty. Fair enough, if we lose, Adams will be gone which is good, but are we really at the point of hoping our club lose? Madness!!
  21. I wouldn''t take him, no. Not because of the obvious reason of being a binner, but because I don''t see him bringing anything to the table. We have strikers who I believe are better, although they may not be showing it right now sadly. I think our best focus would be to get more out of what we have sat here already. If we get them scoring and playing well, I don''t see why we would need anyone else. Signing more players won''t get us out of this one.
  22. I just want to state about today''s match, that overall, for me the gripes I have is that firstly that we went 1 nil down. Should not be happening. The risk here is that heads will drop and we concede more or do not score due to lack of confidence. I felt today, we were lucky for getting a goal back as quickly as we did. Won''t happen all the time. Second gripe would be allowing Brighton to level with us. We know we need to be more careful and should be extra vigilant in holding the fragile lead we had. Third gripe is actually going behind again. Should NOT be happening. Granted, it was a penalty, but to allow ourselves into such a position is just so wrong. Brighton leveling with us is one thing, but for our concentration to lapse to a level of going behind again, what really is going through the player''s head at this point. Is it tactical ineptness, lack of self belief with the players? I really do not know. I think if we are to resolve the issues in general, we need to look at each issue of the game, as mentioned above, separately and deal with them upon their own merits. They need to be dealt with by the coaching staff and I really hope Phelan can see all that is happening and is able to employ some remedies.
  23. Bury raises a good point too, which has been raised many times here. Scouring Europe for a manager was clearly horse poo. Again, the board are to be held to account for misleading the fans on this one.
