When Palace tread our hallowed turf

Recommended Posts

We need fans with score boards to give Andy Johnson a score for every dive, fall, roll etc he makes during the game. We owe him this much treatment after his legs buckled for no reason in the draw at Selhurst last year, denying us an away win and 2 points which would have made the difference.

So I ask people to take some carboard/paper with numbers on and hold them high when he dives like a submarine. Perhaps the EDP/EEN could help out?

Top suggestion - perhaps the scoreboard could slip one in!

No relation to Pete Thorne?????

I suggest that the NCFC groundstaff be instructed to fill the photographers'' pits either side of the goals - with plastic pool balls. Then, that ''follicle deficient diving little cheat'' can practice his penalty awarding skills to his hearts delight!

I''d rather the pits be filled with the ''crusted over'' rancid contents of a herd of Aberdeen Angus''s rear ends......but then I really wouldn''t want to upset the River & Barclay ends..... ;~)

I posted this originally on carrowroad.net on the 7th and promptly on the Canaries main message board (when it works). Don''t use the WOTB myself and haven''t seen it - hopefully it found its way there from one of these boards.

But this is still a must and hence the bump to the top

We should all just print off as many numbers as possible, and hand them out around the ground on Saturday.

Jamie and I can get into work on Saturday and waste a good deal of their photocopier ink, but even a few hundred won''t be enough to make an impact... we need more more more, I tells ya!!

You bunch of ignorant imbeciles!

Will you be using said signs for Mr Huckerby?

Perhaps you should have had them prepared for Eadie when he took the dive following the challenge by the strapping, thug of a player Ray Houghton a few years back that sparked a 20 man brawl.

Pot, kettle, black, rose tinted glasses, I know that we''re all the same but talk about OTT.  I''m sure AJ considered nearly breaking his neck when he ''dived'' for the penalty, what about the 2 in the first half?

You lot are worse than I thought.

No, seriously, who are you?? Stop whining, we''re having fun....

We''ve obviously hit a nerve, though... keep it up, lads!

DIVE! DIVE! DIVE!

I have heard on good authority, that the Royal Navy and its submarine rescue specialists, (that so professionally recovered that Russian mini-sub) will be on emergency standby alongside the resident Red Cross, equipped with their hi-tech remote controlled submersible - here at Carrow Road on Saturday against Palarse.

The RN are here in the probable event of Andy Johnson, (after a predicted succession of non-contact multiple dives - half & full pike etc) who may unfortunately become entangled deep in our untidy turf or goal nets. So an immediate response by the RN rescue team and its equipment, will allow instant recovery of said ''Horizontal Johnson'' the supple, lithe and acrobatic diving cheat, therefore allowing him to to carry on with his favoured pastime of hoodwinking the match officials....... OTBC ;~)

PS: allegedly Jason Shackell is to be issued with hand held depth charges, in case AJ crash-dives before he''s tackled.

Palarse club motto; "WE DIVE AT DAWN!" well just after 3pm Saturday actually.....

Wow it''s all gone quiet over there now hasn''t it!?!

Nice idea, but you''re not the first - even we (Palace) beat you to it!

It''s funny how you forgot about Safri''s handball on the goal line isn''t it?

Should be a good game on Saturday, and I hope you put as much effort into creating a good atmosphere.

Dear me Richard, has someone removed your sense of humour?  Get real mate and whilst you''re at it, get over your own self importance!

Oh my Christ! If its quiet over here, then it must be a veritable graveyard over on the Palarse site since not one, not two, but three of you come over here for your entertainment!

Well entertain this:

Ha, that showed them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think we''ve touched a few nerves here, which is great! Nice to cause such a reaction before the game with their fans. Obviously their sense of humour got sunk when Johnson last took a dive.

Perhaps someone out there could do a mock up of the Johnson picture with his head firmly burried in the turf like an Osterich "Such was the dive, they had to get the cave rescue team from Cornwall out to save him"

I''m sure its all very good natured. My advice...get a defender who''s got a bit of pace...that way you won''t struggle to keep up and end up tripping AJ up. Luton did it on Saturday with Davies, Lescott did it for Wolves. If you''re going to question anyone, it should be Shackle''s ability, as he was the fool who pushed AJ over.

What we do know about Saturday is that it''ll be an entertaining match, its been a long time since we''ve had a boring game between the two of us.

Your forward combination of Ashton and McKenzie is always a threat, and hopefully Macken and AJ''s partnership will really begin to flourish. From what I gather, we both seem to be suffering from a lack of class in midfield. Unfortunately, its something we suffered from last season aswell. Watson is young and developing, he looks for a good pass but often fails to excite, hopefully he''ll come good these next few weeks. Alongside him it could be a any number of players, Leigertwood is built like a brick shathouse and has enough pace to match most players, or it could be Hughes, who''s tenacious tackles always rile opposition players and supporters alike.

Our defence looks alot stronger with Darren Ward and Fitz Hall at the back. Hall is always composed, and Wardy is tough tackling and wins most things in the air. We''re missing Granville, so I''m sure Huckerby will have a nice time against our relatively inexperienced Gary Borrowdale, running into the penalty area and doing his best to con the ref. Its not only our player who has a reputation And on the right it''s likely to be Boyce, who''s suffered from a lack of fitness and a bit of poor form so far this season.

On the wings, McAnuff is a cracking player, and along with AJ, our biggest threat. He scored a great goal against Wolves on Tuesday night and is looking like a great signing. On the opposite wing, it could be either Tom Soares or Joonas Kolkka. Palace''s fans are a bit frustrated, as Kolkka hardly gets a look in, whilst Soares seems to struggle in this position.

I''m suprised the newspapers haven''t deemed this a relegation 6 pointer

Good luck for the rest of the season (obviously only until you play us again...) and fingers crossed, we can both be celebrating promotion by the end of the season.

Knowing where Richard Balls (Fans Eye) sits in the ground, can we request that he takes his seat in a very old deep see divers outfit?
