Robbo007 0 Posted May 7, 2005 1. Huckerby2. Francis3. McKenzie I don''t think anyone has really shone out this season, unlike last season. My personal choice would have been Francis. His goals have kept us with a chance, and although his performances have slipped a bit lately, he really has played well this season. Huckerby? I would disagree that he has been our best player, he''s played well, but I would say he can play better. McKenzie has been playing well of late, and his 3rd place has come on the back of the last 10 games or so.
BIC 0 Posted May 7, 2005 Huckerby can definitely be better, but he hasn''t had many bad games has he?In most he''s been a threat which is more than you can say for anyone else.Francis was class until his injury, and he''s been fairly anonymous since. Mackenzie deserved to be at least runner up for his non-stop effort and has seen a huge improvement since Ashton arrived.
DumbleDelia is Magic 0 Posted May 7, 2005 I''m delighted. It''s nice to see McKenzie getting mentioned. He''s been our most improved player. Damo deserved a mention for his performances pre Christmas. But I''m really pleased Hucks got it. I was disappointed for him last year and he''s done superbly this season
TwoSheds 0 Posted May 7, 2005 Well im not going to jump on the Hux bandwagon. It is a tough one though with not many to choose from, so im going to go with Ashton simply because he was so call under tremendous pressure scoring the penalty this afternoon. sheded 0 Posted May 7, 2005 Your displaying , yet again , faulty logic !   ... YOUR player of the season hasn`t PLAYED throughout the season ..... give me strength !!! The award was given because Hucks DESERVED it !  simple [ therefore even you should be able to grasp it  ] as that !
Dame to Blame 108 Posted May 7, 2005 The right choice , hucks has been our main threat and supplier of goals.

Bird Table 0 Posted May 8, 2005 Player for the first half of the season: FrancisSecond half: Ashton
ZLF 335 Posted May 9, 2005 In a year when no oneplayer has been outstanding in every game I suspect the voting was spread across 4/5 players and Hux got it for being consistently good in more game than any other player - sort of meets a definition of player of the season for me. If you want to split it out I would have given it to Hux in the first half and to Shacks in the second. While Ashton is class our season did not hint at improving until Shacks joined the team 4ish games later and only took off when Helveg and Safri were added again. blacko 0 Posted May 9, 2005 Zipper that was spot on, I agree entirely. I was a little surprised to see Francis above Leon, but it would be interesting to see how many votes a man of the match/player of the month are worth in the final tally.
