Charlie our Superhero

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Please don''t moan at this post being non football related. Currently a couple from Norwich who emigrated to Perth, Austrailia are flying back to our fine city with their 5 year old son Charlie. He was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer in 2010 and was given the all clear in July last year.

Sadly the latest MRI scan last week shows it has spread to his brain and is terminal.

As I said they are currently flying back to Norwich to see their family and friends.

All I ask is you spread the word about their Facebook page ''Charlie our Superhero'' and if you can donate. If you can''t please at least say a prayer for them.

Thank you

I think in this case - yes, it is relevant. I''m not saying he should become a herion addict at the age of 5 btw. If I had a son who doesnt have long to live (whether they choose to seek medical care or not) I would spoil him rotten; taking him on holiday, go part time at work, let him do things that 5 year olds are told not to do such as drinking booze, or having 8 chocolate bars in 10 minutes.

Truly sorry to read this.  I can''t begin to imagine what your friends are going through.  The greatest of life''s injustices is when a parent has to bury their child.

I read the sad story about Charlie in the local paper today, what a shame for the young lad and his family, I can''t begin to understand what they must be going through.

Heres Charlie with his sister Orla

Its great that the club are getting involved, it shows that they do care about the community and not just money like too many of clubs in this country (although most do a good job)

One of my middle lad''s best mates has the same - had it when he was 4 (now 6) but luckily had 2 all clears now. However statistically in the long term it doesn''t look good for him unfortunately.Good luck with this.

Heartbreaking.

Looks a lovely little lad with his sister.

Bless him and hope he enjoys his day and everyone in the ground cheer him on to make it a special memory for him.

Life can be so cruel sometimes.
