thenorthstand 0 Posted March 27, 2012 Not many survivors of the squad (Drury the only one?) but they''ll know the fans have a score to settle.
RvWs 4 year contract 0 Posted March 27, 2012 Well if you look at Lambert''s career here we''ve done ''revenge'' well.Colchester- check. Beat them 5-0 in the return fixture.Leeds- check. Overhauled the cocky lot, won League 1 at a canter and then proceeded to nick their best players. The scum-check. After the gloating we had to suffer from their mockney crew when we went down to the third tier we shoved their words back down their throats.Fulham is next. Bring it on. Matt Juler 181 Posted March 27, 2012 Don''t forget winning at Charlton to gain promotion, a year after our relegation was sealed on the same ground.
Syteanric 1 Posted March 28, 2012
Don''t forget winning at Charlton to gain promotion, a year after our relegation was sealed on the same ground.
i work with a charlton fan and he takes great delight in harping on about the relegation... when i mention what happened 12 months later he chooses to ignore it and carries on going on about the relegation...i let him have his moment. GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,821 Posted March 29, 2012 Charlton didnt actually relegate us though?, as it turned out we would have gone down whatever happened on that day anyway. As for payback for Fulham......the only way that could ever happen would be by one day relegating them! Bill 1,788 Posted March 29, 2012 Not quite sure about this payback stuffYou can''t be suggesting Fulham or Charlton did anything wrong, they won that''s all. It''s their job (helped in no small way by us being completely shite).Any payback should be more about us burying our own ghosts, than of conjuring up possible ''wrong doing'' on the part of other clubs. As to giving the paupers and the ''dirty Leeds'' a good going over, that''s not so much payback as a much needed slap to a couple oftrdious irritants who are obssesed with their supposed ''glorious'' history.Beating Wolves and so keeping them on the bottom was perhaps payback for Muscat''s horrendous tackle on Bellamy, but otherwise we might just as well talk of paying back Leicester for knocking us out of the cup
spencer 1970 208 Posted March 29, 2012 no PAYBACK! would be seeing Damien Francis, Helveg, Johnson and Co in the dock about to "do a spell inside" and you being the witness to save them, but instead saying...YES, that were them that did it they wor - send them down ossifer! Mello Yello 2,315 Posted March 29, 2012 Maybe Delia and MWJ could invite Nigel Worthington along to Craven Cottage as their personal guest......To show unemployed Worthy, how Premiership football management, should be done......?
Wings of a Sparrow 1,466 Posted March 29, 2012 To echo what has been said on this board many times, Fulham were on a big win bonus that day because Al-Fayed had agreed to the bonus by virtue of the fact of finishing in a higher league placing.
Bill 1,788 Posted March 29, 2012
went down at charlton secured promotion at charlton went down at fulham secured safety at fulham? YES
''safety'' was secured before we played them at homeWinning there and going 8th would be a great, something to fight to keep and maybe a base to challenge for 7th spot (plus a rather awesome £6.4m extra since before the Wolves game, if we stay there)
