Is it all in the stars?

Recommended Posts

No, not literally the stars although on a clear night like last night here on the cusp of the equator I could sit back in my hammock with my Sailor''s Rum in hand and gaze up at Orion and the Plough.  I''m talking specifically about astrology.  I have analyzed the Norwich City squad and note that of the first team regulars we have four Leos, three Arians (or Arieses if you are unintelligent) and six Saggitariai (Saggitariusses, if you will).

And our inspirational leader - a Leo too.  Whereas we only have two Water signs (Pisceans) and a few Air and Earth signs, the overwhelming characteristic of the squad is FIRE.  To a water sign like myself (Moon in Pisces, Sun in Cancer, rings around Uranus) it''s baffling but delightful.

Is it the Fire signs, with aggression and leadership, the fire in their bellies and hearts, who are instrumental in leading us to the promised land?  Will this last when the pressure grows, as surely it will when the world and his wife are watching their every step?  Is our success perhaps written in the stars after all?

What do you think?  Do you even believe in Astrology?  Is Russell Grant still on television over there in the UK?  Would he have done a better job than Peter Grant?  Share your thoughts here.

Be good to one another.

SAGITTARIUS 23 November - 21 December

Astonishment this afternoon when you spot your grandmother playing opposite John Wayne in the John Ford movie Rio Grande. But all is explained when it turns out your grandmother was Maureen O''Hara.

Absolutely no idea what you are talking about BBB, but a glass of something laying on a hammock near the equator would do me now. It is pouring here!. OTBC .

An interesting post, this. I would want to know their Moon and Rising signs though, before we could make any judgment. You don''t get a full picture just from the Sun sign, as the OP knows.

Canarino, Sun in Taurus, Moon in Scorpio, Capricorn Rising.

CAPRICORN 22 December - 21 January

The greyness of the winter months has flattened your normally effervescent Capricornian spirits. But worry not, the days are getting longer. Very shortly it will stay light beyond half-past two in the afternoon. Even in places like Luton.

AQUARIUS - 22 January - 19 February

You were slightly disturbed this morning to discover Julian Clary sleeping in your shed.

But what a relief, it was only a lookalike.

PISCES 20 February - 20 March

Shock on Tuesday when you discover your mother''s plan to hijack a Korean Airlines 747. Should you report her to the relevant authorities, or just have a quiet word? Doubtless you usual Piscean diplomacy and sense of proportion will see you through.

ARIES 21 March - 20 April

Mars in Leo makes this an excellent week to take a driving test or audition for a part BBC children''s show. But not such a good time to be attempting to become the first person to walk the length of South America clad only in a bathing costume.

TAURUS 21 April - 21 May

Prince Edward rings on Friday and asks you if you want to go back to his place after bowling. But you don''t go bowling. And you don''t like Chinese. Very mysterious.

GEMINI 22 May - 21 June

Can it be long now until you are financially secure for life and living in the house of your dreams, with all your friends and loved ones close at hand to share your good fortune?

Yes, I''m afraid it can.

CANCER 22 June - 22 July

Not the most thrilling of weeks to be a Cancer - though you will be pleasantly surprised to note that Thursday''s electricity bill is a full £1.67 down on your charge for the same period last year. Well done everyone!

LEO 23 July - 23 August

Pluto''s aspect in your ninth lunar niche commends a computer upgrade this week. I am happy to recommend the Dell XPS 17, the robust laptop for all your 21st century communication needs (I have not been paid for this endorsement. Yet.).

VIRGO 24 August - 23 September

To what extent are we shaped by nature? And to what extent are we the product of nuture?

How much of our destiny are we helpless to control, and how much can we craft for ourselves?

These are questions to which you will be no nearer a coherent answer this week.

LIBRA 24 September - 23 October

Snow Report: There should be a healthy 175 cm on the upper slopes at Tignes this week, but look out for a disappointingly sparse and powdery covering on the lower slopes at Verbier.
