Morph 31 Posted May 5, 2011 Would you want another season on-loan or want the chance of taking part in the Premier League adventure, even if it means you see time on the bench or bit-part status in the team?
John 0 Posted May 5, 2011 Go on-loan until January, and see what measure to take from then on.
alysha 0 Posted May 5, 2011 Another loan. He really didn''t feature for Lambert much in League 1, let alone the Prem and I doubt that him scoring goals in League 2 would change anything for him, and would probably be lucky to even make it on the bench. king canary 8,754 Posted May 5, 2011 He surely cant be loaned out again, he is not as young as some people seem to think.
I am a Banana 0 Posted May 5, 2011 If I were cody mac, i''d want to go to gillingham on a perm/season loan again. He is a fans favourite he plays 1st team and is banging in the goals. I would sell him cheap £100k with a few clauses such as;-X amount if the gills get promoted-X amount if he scores so many goals in a season-X amount if he scores a certain amount of goals in his gills career/A BUY BACK PRICE/match price option so If a championship team wants him for £500k then we can match the offer and it is accepted! jed exodous 0 Posted May 5, 2011 The threads titles if you were cody mac, so you''d have to decide what you want.- A perm move so you get a longer term contract and more security, potential better wage- A loan move in the hope you can force your way in at your parent club- Stay at the club and fight for your place and try to earn a new contract while also trying to play in the premier league football. This may be Codys only shot of playing in the prem. If it were me, i''d want to have a go at it at the prem. He must know that he can go to a lower league club and get a contract next summer when his ncfc contract is up. I think at the very least hes got to hang about through pre-season and the first month or so of the season, if hes not figuring, then go on loan in September/October. Legend Iwan 30 Posted May 5, 2011 Give him another contract, loan him to a League 1/Champ side for the season if we fail to stay up we should have a striker ready and waiting for us if not he will have hopefully proven himself at a higher level and we can sell him on for more - and fingers crossed a great career for him. Mr Brownstone 0 Posted May 5, 2011 Did Cody not state he''d like to stay with the Gills? It''s close to where he comes from, he''s obviously fitted in well and I''m sure our Promotion has triggered some add ons for Jackson so it would be in everyone''s interests to make it happen permanently. [/quote]Not too sure about this. He''s an easy going lad, who is not going to say anything bad about the club he''s playing for. But Gillingham are pretty abysmal, & I reckon if he thought he had half a chance of playing against the likes of Manure etc.he''d grab it with both hands. Let''s face it, if he''s offered that option by Lambert & doesn''t go for it, we don''t want him anyway. But I think he would. And I hope it happens.

He''s come into the professional game quite late and I''m sure he just wants to play the game he loves, if he stays here he''ll be lucky to get in our 25 man squad, let alone on the bench or near the 1st team. Surely any player worth his salt is going to prove himself against the best opposition there is? I have no respect for players who like knocking in goals against the Blind School.I have no idea if Lambert considers he might have a role to play at Norwich. If he does, I just hope Cody takes it. Smudger 0 Posted May 5, 2011 hahaha give it up for god sake, I''m sure some of you lot fancy Cody or something!!! [:$]We are moving onwards and upwards. Cody was not good enough for us in League 1, or the Championship. Lambert will be bringing another striker or two in during the summer probably and Cody has a very remote chance of ever pulling on a first team shirt for City again. He will be sold during the summer, of that I have little doubt! This thread is about a hypothetical situation. Whether the situation could arise or not is entirely up to Paul Lambert. Your opinion doesn''t interest me in the slightest.I am a little concerned about your motives concerning Simeon though .....
In Dubious Battle 0 Posted May 6, 2011 If we were to keep him and loan him out, we should make sure we have a recall on him this time, remember that we cannot get in loans during the season in the Premiership. So having Cody out on loan and available to return would be a pretty handy back-up.
DDD In The Fine City 1 Posted May 6, 2011 surely he''ll just be given to Gillingham to write off money we now owe them for Jackson goin up with us to the prem?
grantroederdisaster 0 Posted May 6, 2011 If we were to play our reserve in the Premier reserve League then I''d be tempted to have him here as back up player and loan him out for a bit! While I expect us sign a couple of strikers, you can''t have too many of them and while I doubt Macdonald will ever be Premier standard, hes the sort of striker that will always get chances and he''d be beter than playing some scared kid way out of his depth! Tangible Fixed Assets anyone? 0 Posted May 6, 2011 BUT I wouldn''t mind us keeping him and loaning him out to a team higher than div 2. He scored goals for us in Div1 and the Championship.
CanaryJames 0 Posted May 6, 2011 I can see him ending up on loan to Brighton next season. Not a million miles away from where he''s from (although admittedly some distance), and they''ll be looking for an extra striker or two for their Championship season.A move to the Championship would suit us perfectly, and factor in that we could use it as bargaining to get Elliot Bennett (who I believe we will try to sign once more), and it seems plausible no?
