Pretty sure there were no books to promote when we weren''t doing so well. She has to make some money from somewhere. who are you lot to begrudge her doing her job?
You seriously believe that? For that to be true, she''d have to be even more money grubbing than 90% of other club owners, since they don''t expect a profit. So, do you seriously believe that?

Do you actually think she''ll be out of pocket when she retires or moves aside?....

I should think the likes of Mr Carl Moore have made a loss.....

Yeah - gives - it was originally a loan, which she wrote off. (as far as I can remember) - although (again, AFAICR) it was around 9m, not 13m, but still.

Apparently she makes about 1/2 million per book - received over time, rather than a lump sum or anything. And she actually needs to eat herself... So that money isn''t mostly from her, but MWJ.

Also - her publishers would insist she promotes the book, otherwise she''d be wasting their money.

Yes. Her and MWJ will be out of pocket by 9m or more...
And she actually needs to eat herself...
She''s a cannibal ?  And she grows limbs back like Alligators do ?  That has to be the worst thing I''ve ever heard said about Delia !I suppose she could probably make her taste nice though.
Well, I for one do. And have backed that thought up with real money. I have a £100 bet for charity with another poster on that precise basis - that she will be put of money when she ceases to be the owner. Presumably, Mello, you would be quite happy to take on that bet as well, since you seem convince that she''ll actually end up making a profit.

I''m certain of it. I''m also certain she expects to make a loss. Rather

as I expect to make a financial loss on money invested in my children. But neither are that sort of investment.

So....In the context of no buyer being out there and no philanthropic chicken magnate about to buy her out (sorry Wiz, it''s just not true)...Our majority shareholder Delia Smith does the PR rounds on TV and radio.  Drums up trade for her new book, coinciding with Xmas.  Sells more copies.  Makes more money.  Can therefore give more to running the club meaning we have to sell less and can possibly buy more.Where is the problem here?

No, I won''t put a wager on it....why should I? I reckon she''ll recoup a large percentage (if not all), but as near as much of the money she''s invested into NCFC.

I don''t think Delia will be out of pocket when she steps aside....Can you prove that she will be out of pocket?

No, I don''t think you or anyone bar the majority-shareholders, will actually be able to to prove it, or confirm....that she''ll be out of pocket? Will you be allowed access to her bank-account and finances when she does depart? Because you or I will not be privy to that information, so what is the point of a wager? If Delia is a few quid down on what she''s invested and converted to shares in NCFC, then I suppose she would depart with a loss....but will it be substantial?....No, I personally don''t think so.
Because you would have the public pleasure of being proved right and a charity would benefit by me giving it £100. Assuming you''re right and I''m wrong. But your refusal to put your money where your mouth is speaks for itself.

Off the top of my head (memory) but you will need to check these figures :

Money put into ordinary shares according to NCFC Accounts (to 31/5/08)  - directly into the club          £5.6m.

Money put into ordinary shares according to The Times - ex G. Watling / Chase holdings                         £0.7m

B Prefs shares (at 31/5/08) - may be redeemed if NCFC get to The Premiership                                     Â£0.3m

Loans - that we know about                                                                                                                   £2.0m

Now IF the ordinary shares are sold at £30 per share in a takeover, I think if I remember right the figure would be something like £9.8m approx. for Delia - MWJ. holdings Then the loans and B Prefs may be repaid at some point too.
