Helsinki canary 302 Posted August 9, 2009 Statistics dont lie do they! this is why Gunn should of been shown the door after the Charlton game......Worthy clearly was the most succesful manager we have had here since the first period of Mike Walker, and the short spell with Martin O''Neil. After yesterday i dont know how the guy can even show his face in our fair county of Norfolk. In the old days he would of been taken to the county border and thrown out - with or without his sheriffs uniform on!
chicken 0 Posted August 9, 2009 I think most long term pinkun posters know I was a Worthington backer and was angry with the protests to get him out.I am not wanting to point score here but at least you knew with him that we would never even be considering relegation to this league. And you knew that given funds he would find half decent players. The problem was people wanted more, they wanted to be in the premiership and they got him out when he wasnt the problem. The problem was were not financially competetive in the Championship or at least not enough so to see us push for the top 6 again. They then gave more money to Grant, Roeder and now Gunn than Worthington saw in his last couple of seasons.

susie b 0 Posted August 9, 2009 Has anyone else noticed that the trend during the tenure of the last 3 (chronologically speaking) is ''down down deeper and down''? Small wonder the anger and despair hey?! If I got one student out of four, or even one out of three, through their exams I wouldn''t expect to have a job for very long. Our board gambled on unproven, untested, nobodies and not surprisngly we were soon going backwards.Hindsight is a wonderful thing but don''t forget, Worthy was just another cheap option back then to, his success was a get out of jail free card this board has never deserved.
