SuperWesIrishWizard 0 Posted November 19, 2008 I know thats he young, but could Luke Daley be worth a few games in the first team? If it doesnt work out then its valuable experience, he can have another go 12 months later, if it does then we have something to be positive about and the first good player to come through the system since Shackell (well, Joe Lewis).Personally, I would be excited by the prospect of having a talented young player and a few good performances could encourage Roeder to give some other youngsters a try? Thecanaryfan 0 Posted November 19, 2008 were going to lose on Saturday anyway so why not give the kids a run out. Daley and Renton up front.
Paul Spector 0 Posted November 19, 2008 Should be feeling pretty confident right now, so yeah why not.

|BA 0 Posted November 20, 2008 Saw him a few times in the rezzies last seasonHe''s ok but was eclipsed by Martin and Eagles in every game I saw. One of the Kellys looked pretty bright too....
ca 1 Posted November 21, 2008 Guess Roeder has ruled Daley out for a few months then, grrrrHe says ''''Luke Daley''s hat-trick will have done his confidence no harm at all, but he is not quite ready for first team football yet - certainly not this side of Christmas. He showed that he is a very quick player but he is still very much on a steep learning curve and as far as the first team is concerned, he is not ready yet.'''' claud 0 Posted November 21, 2008 What use to us is a confident, unfearful player at the moment? Oh. [8-)]

I would go as far as to say we have something special on our hands. Lets both hope the hatchet men from other teams don''t come out to rob us of this talent....arrdee. paul ncfc 0 Posted November 21, 2008 Certainly feel a couple of the lads are good enough to occupy spaces on the bench, but I suppose with the current squad doing so well away from home it would be stupid to change anything.I know Roeder said it is too early but I think we may see them sooner rather than later and I cannot wait, there is nothing quite like cheering a good young'' un. chicken 0 Posted November 21, 2008 Damn it what is wrong with modern football? Not giving young british players a chance! You can''t tell me that this lad isn''t just as big a threat coming off the bench as Cureton! However I think this is deflection. Roeder is no fool, if we have injuries and we can''t recall the loan players then I think we will see him in the squad even if it is on the bench.Adeyemi I believe is the player Roeder refered to in the meeting where people questioned him. And yet little fuss seems to have been made over him getting a contract?!
Saint Canary 0 Posted November 21, 2008 I''m not kidding myself, I don''t think that Daley or any of our youngsters are the answer to all our problems. I do however wish that some of them would be given a chance because frankly they couldn''t do much worse could they? Why I would really like to see a couple of our young players though is that I would at least see a future with the team we put out............ steve b 0 Posted November 21, 2008 These young lads won''t be given a chance by Roeder, he''ll break any confidence they have just like he has done with the first team players, he''ll tell the young ones that they''re not big fish in a small pond now and all that crap,
|BA 0 Posted November 21, 2008 Paul Stephenson is the best rezzie coach i''ve seen in a long timeRoeder respects his opinionAnd whats that rubbish about cant recall loan players?
Saint Canary 0 Posted November 21, 2008 Sorry, I meant to say also that the frustrating thing about our own youngsters and whether they are ready etc etc is that Gibbs and Henry were clearly not ready yet Roeder was more than happy to play them. Neither of them are regularly playing first team football this season, at their own clubs or on loan and that should tell you something. They were both poor and Gibbs was the epitome of a young player with talent who was not ready for first team football yet he was as good as a regular in our side. I find it all slightly hypocritical on Roeders part.
