Try pink toilet role.  Actually I wonder if that has anything to do with it being called the Pinkin, perhaps the paper is recycled toilet role?
why is it called the pinkun? my work mate thinks it sounds like a gay website
Because traditionally Saturday evening football papers were printed on pink or green paper - this was the same all over Britain.  In the days before TV and the internet they were huge sellers - it was quite common to see queues outside newsagents because it was the only way to get a match report of that day''s game.   At one time Newcastle''s Saturday evening football paper - also called the Pink Un - was selling nearly 400,000 copies across the North East.

In recent years they have become totally uneconomic to produce when you add on the cost of distribution - in any event they are beaten to the punch by running reports on the net and on the many forums.
