A Bit worried Now

Recommended Posts

Now I am getting a little bit worried. We are mid June and no whisper of a signing and I cannot except that its because of the Euro Cup. Is our manager still in the club because he has been extremely quiet. Is this a good thing or a bad thing. If any new players are coming I hope it is soon as Pre season matches will be looming soon. I like many others will feel more relieved when  the first signing comes. ( he better be a good one)

No whisper of a signing! Hoolahan,Carroll,Patterson,Nicholson,Ameobi,Gorkks,Bell and Cole to name a few that have been linked with us.

I wish people would stop posting these types of threads. Everyday 6/7 new ones are started with people writing the same things!

If teams in th eleague were buying players left right and centre i would be !a bit worried!" But there not. The market is historically slow this time of year. Wait until the Euro''s are over (no we aint buying anyone who will be playing) and we will feel the domino effect from the Premiership.

Just wait and things will happen. Anyone who thinks that GR doesn''t want to sign people are deluded. Things will happen!

Indeed, I''m patient, but come the end of July and IF we have not signed players, then I will panic big time.

If he was to announce all his signings in the next 2 weeks, just watch the moaners start when better players are available after the Euro''s saying we bought too early. Just wait and see, have FAITH, trust in GR.

Obviously it would be better for the team in general if we got some bodies in before or on July 1st, as that is when pre-season starts.

Another great example of supreme binman wit there from Mr T Field.

Ona  serious note I too am a little worried. its all very well saying that nobody signs players until August and I accept that we will probably have to wait until then for a number of loan players but I want the squad to be together for a proper pre-season and for me that means we need to have half a dozen new faces at least before we go to Sweden on 18th July. My hope remains that we have a few deals lined up and are just waiting for people to come back from holiday!

.................just thought I''d mention that Derby today made there 7th recent signing, and all of them look like they could do a good job for us.

But to give a rounded picture, we remain among a slight majority of Championship clubs yet to do a deal. They are:

 1. Bristol City
 2. Burnley
 3. Cardiff
 4. Crystal Palace
 5. Doncaster
 6. Ipswich
 7. Norwich
 8. Plymouth
 9. Preston
 10. Reading
 11. Sheffield Utd
 12. Sheffield Wednesday and
 13. Watford

Rumour has it that Mr Roeder is trying to sign A N Other on a free transfer and on a low wage.
I take your point and you are correct but (and it''s a big one) how many of those teams need as many players as we do?  Or to put it another way, how many of those clubs could actually have as little players as we do? We have to wait, I accept that but I can''t complain if people are feeling more and more nervous.  We have a lot of work to do and the time to do it in is decreasing everyday.  At present we have about 15 senior players, that''s uncluding two GK''s and I''ve included Spillane to beef the list up a bit.
I''m not denying that we probably have very little money and would, if they are players who can do a job, be welcomed to the squad whether on a free transfer or low wages.  If the financial situation irritates you then your blaming the wrong person - blame the board who are responsible for allocating and raising funds, not Roeder who can only use the money he is given.

Please note I enjoy banter but I do not do insults I find it rather ridiculous.

Afterall it is only a game of football whether the colours are yellow and green or blue and white has, these days, little to do with the origins of the players wearing the shirts.  I follow Ipswich because I was born there it is as simple as that but that doesn''t make me "hate" anyone from other places. I leave that to others with little else in their lives.
