If you want a cathedral we''ve got one to spare.............

You are the one that mentioned cathedral envy you pillock!

I did think your earlier posts were vaguely constructive for a binner but more recent ones have shown your true colours and indeed general ignorance.

I would also concur with my friends above that City fans always occupied the Drum and Monkey pre-derby games. I can remember a few Ipswich being in a side room on a couple of occasions but they used to keep a very low profile.

this is just silly now, id rather have a good football team thanks which is just as well. People of Ipswich generally dont even want city status, we are proud of our small town with a big football club.

anyway, anyone gonna talk about football or go on about cathedrals all day?
mmmm, very odd, you want to talk football on a Norwich City (and a fine one at that!) FC web forum and you are an Ipswich fan! now why would you do that? and you really expect us to play ball and say how great you and your lousy town and footy club are?

Did I mention our castle too?
i''m happy to talk football.  But i''m still waiting for you to explain how old you were when you claim to have thrown Norwich fans over walls and how you don''t know anything about the fact we used to all drink in the Drum and Monkey???!?!?!  Something tells me you''ve heard stories from some of the bigger boys and you''ve got a bit excited and got your facts wrong?!?!?

it wasnt me who started the cathedral thing you wally, read back a few posts, i dont know what the fuss is about with it really. Agreed, previous posts were constructive which is my true colours, im just fed up of getting "cathedral envy" thrown back at me when noone else has a legitimate response to my posts. My recent responses have been less constructive due to the moronic responses from some of your fans.

and as for the Drum and Monkey, dont make me laugh. I was a member of the IPS back in the day and that pub never got taken. Im not here to talk about who did what in which pub but it does anger me when you say you did something you only ever attempted a handful of times and were sent packing, same with the Cock and Pye and Hare and Hounds. It was all fun back in the day and just a part of the derby day, taking pubs was almost as big a part of the day as the match itself. Both Ipswich and Norwich fans have had thier arses handed to them over the years, to be fair neither club really had strong firms in comparison to some other clubs who have on occasion taken the Monkey.
Well i reckon we can agree on one thing that fun part of Derby Day has long gone.  I know lots of people will say i''m wrong to say it but Derby''s aren''t the same as they used to be.  I''m a season ticket holder and didn''t bother getting a ticket for Sunday and didn''t go out of my way to listen to it on the radio (not because i don''t care just because i don''t think the rivalry is as intense any more).  I used to know all the Ipsh*t team but now i could only name about two of them and i think the same could be said by most of their fans.  I honestly think while kick off stays at Sunday lunchtime the atmosphere and fun of it all will get worse and worse.  And JayZ i reckon if you agree with me on this!!

Not wishing to get involved in an endless debate over this but I personally have drunk in the Drum and Monkey on 4 or 5 occasions before derby matches so you are blatently talking cr*p. On all these occasions it was full to the brim with Norwich fans and invariably it was smashed up before the police escorted everyone to the ground at which point the Ipswich fans would invariably turn up and try and have a pop at us.

Not trying to claim any kind of bragging rights over it but its fact. I can also recall Norwich fans drinking in various other pubs over the years including that funny place under the roundabout and i''m sure we have been in the cock and pye. Similarly I can recall Ipswich fans coming up to the Woolpack in the past and also remember back before the Friday night game they got into the Edith Cavell in Tombland one time so i''m not trying to be one sided about this but i don''t understand why you are refusing to acknowledge the truth.

i totally agree, they arent as fun as they used to be and its all down to over policing and stupid rules like making us play each other on a sunday morning. its craziness, its not like we are the most bitter rivals around anyway, plenty of other derby''s are played on a saturday afternoon. I could only name a few of your players too when many many moons ago i could list your entire team as well, seems we agree on this.

Maybe a combined petition between the 2 rival supporters presented to the FA would help? I am pretty competent with computing and creating a website to accomodate this would be easy. Just an idea so let me know what you think, maybe for once team up and prove to the FA we arent just a bunch of thugs looking for a scrap any more, the fact that we have talked to get it running would be a start!

Shark Attack one thing i have got is a sense of humour, i put myself for ridicule every night but your only comeback t any argument by me is my profession, how about a debate sometime. The links to years ago was started by scumboy who has a selective memory about certain things, like who drunk in what pub and when. Yes it was different years ago but violence was part of football, my own girlfriend had her leg broke by hooligans and you ran gauntlets just to get to grounds. My point is football is alot safer now rightly so, but you will get banter on both sides, but then and now the binners have always been muppets. As for me on about who beat up who, times have changed, i have good pals from Ipshxt who work with me and i have learnt, at the end of the day its just a football game, i am not the one on the other thread arguing with an imature Binner about who ground is bigger, who has got a cathedral and so on.

we''ll see next season when you go down.

what''s with all this cathedral envy cr*p? We honestly dont care if you have one or not, this forum is about football and how does a cathedral fit into the equation?
To be honest, I would never have expected you to have understood the significance of having a Cathedral - on any level. And actually when they were naming a new city to mark the millenium the whole of your TOWN appeared to be wetting themselves so don''t give me that old ''we don''t care'' malarky  cos its b*ll*cks and you know it.   [:D]

Late on Sunday as I drove past Ipswich on the A14 with an empty washer bottle and a film of salt spray smearing my vision I would have paid money for a local chav to p!ss on my windscreen.

All things are relative.

not bothered with the game at Portman Road for a couple of seasons robocop overkill etc as for jay z coments on pubs used ,normally landed dinner time for evening games first port of call Drum and Monkey which early doors had usually a few Ipswich in but we used to pay the odd visit to the Falcon and Alan Brazils old pub The Black Adder but the only time i felt a bit uncomfortable was season 83-84 not a good day ,but the rivalry then from all quarters was more intense now due to bog standard lunchtime kickoff probably the most low key derby in the Brtitish Isles

how does this work? Norwich is a huge city with lots of people yet they have a tiny crappy little stadium and still cant fill it regularly?

Ipswich is a town with far less people in but still manages to draw a bigger average attendance than norwich every season.

I dont understand how the scum can go on about how proud they are to be in such a nice big city saying us binners have cathedral envy (the idea still make me laugh) and then say we are a crappy little town..... but they still cant get attendances that warrant a bigger stadium like the town.

say what you like boys, you cant argue with facts.

Can we just get one fact straight. Ipswich and Norwich have basically very similar populations and catchment area''s. Being a City does not make you large in terms of population, York, Durham etc.

I did have a good laugh reading how norwich fans were looking forward to Ipswich''s beating at Wolves and how they were going to turn West Brom over this weekend. Nevermind boys, maybe you''d like to tell us how badly we''ll do at Preston or against Hull? seems to bring us good luck thanks.

What a sad life you have to waste your time registering here and posting a message, let''s face it, we will probably be playing you again next year so maybe hold on to your smugness until the season is over.

There is one reason I envy you, and only 1, and that is, you get to save money at Christmas / birthday by only needing to buy your mum / sister one present, whereas the rest of the civilised population normally have seperate mums and sisters!

Ok then, whatever you say. The closest you''ll get to playing Ipswich will be when your 3 or 4 away supporters pass us by on the way to play Colchester. The rest of your away armchair fans could watch us on Sky tv if you like.

blimey, it''s not too hard to provoke you into giving away how low your IQ is, is it? Your mum / sister must be so proud?
