FAN OF THE YEAR...

Recommended Posts

Well deserved.  Many years ago I used to travel away on Lil''s coach.  I remember a trip to Carlisle in December (could have been 1969, 70 or 71), we left Friday midnight, lads straight out of the pub and onto the bus, had to stop four times before we got to Kings Lynn.  Over the Pennines in the snow in the early hours, reached Carlisle in time for breakfast in a cafe with steamed up windows, it was so cold we stayed in there till kickoff.  Open terraces covered in sheet ice, snowed all game, lost 3-0.  Got home about 2.30am so sleep deprived I started hearing voices that weren''t there.  Those were the days . . . I remember travelling with her on Mascot Coaches in the early 70''s. I still speak to her regularly at away games now. She is always there even at Bury on a cold January night. She don''t much like The Doc! I know better than to argue though[;)]

Mascot Coaches!  What a memory Nutty.  That''s right, maroon and cream livery as I recall, they used to run my school bus in the 60s too.
I recall that Lilly was well known on the coaches for...ahem....getting around shall we say. Lovely girl though, not speaking from experience.
Famous for it. Good old gal.
