Delias Tasty Nibblets 0 Posted February 16, 2008 Weve been unbeaten in 13 games, yes we lost badly today, but people have already been on here slagging off Roeder, the board, the team, anything they possibly can, its absolutely ridiculous. Lets face it, we did, and stil do have the slimmest of slim chances of making the playoffs, but when Glenn arrived the big job was safety, which we will achieve. The next job then, was to build for next season, anything more this would be a bonus. All this ''lack of ambition sack the board rubbish'' is ridiculous at the current time, Glenn said the money was there to spend, but he couldnt get the targets he wanted, so hes waited, and we''l go again in the summer. In the summer we will need probably 10 players inc loans, wait and see what happens then. I think everyones got a bit carried away and now expects us to win week on week. It isnt going to happen, just be gratefull were not in Sheff Weds, Preston etcs position for now. Also, Roeder HAS to use the loan players in order to gain the favour that we will need to get more on loan for a push next season. If Coppell, Wenger etc send players out this season who dont play, then in future they will be off elsewhere. Tactically this has cost us a bit in the last two games, ie. Gibbs and Henry, but it will serve us well in the long run!Lets get today into perspective, we lost, to a poor team but desperate for points, away, on an abysmal pitch that negated any attempts at flowing passing play that Roeder wants us to use. It was pretty much the worst scenario we will face in the league.
rich2408 0 Posted February 16, 2008 yes we lost today but it wasnt to a poor team it was to a far superior team! no-one minds losing when their team plays well, but today was dire. they never attempted to play flowing football, just hit and hope.
McCanary 0 Posted February 16, 2008 A voice of reason in a sea of panic. An excellent post from a realistic standpoint. If you were offered our current position (at the end of the season) back in October , would you have been disappointed ??
YellowIce 0 Posted February 16, 2008 I cannot stand people who moan after a loss. We have had a great run, Glen has worked miracles. It makes you think that fans want the board to throw good maoney after bad whilst chopping any manager if they lose even one game! i.e Leicster.
rich2408 0 Posted February 16, 2008 NO. i dont mind losing if we show effort.

Imho, there is nothing more frustrating than to play well and to lose. On the other hand, winning by playing poorly feels far more gratifying. (Like we did a couple of times this season.) Once our unbeaten run has ended, I don''t mind that it happened so dramatically. A narrow defeat can be explained in many ways, and it is usually attributed to individual errors, while there''s only one explanaition for such a trashing: that the whole team were sh**e. Such collective embarrasments are often cathartic, and result in improved form. Let''s hope we''ll see that happening against Barnsley.

They played a style to suit the conditions, end of.
Graham Humphrey 13 Posted February 16, 2008
If you were offered our current position (at the end of the season) back in October , would you have been disappointed ??
Exactly. If you said at that time we would have 42 points by mid-February you would have been taken away by the men in white coats - at that point it didn''t look like we''d get that many by the end of the season, let alone with 13 games still to go. Ivan Easter 0 Posted February 17, 2008 On greater reflection I must totally agree with you I am one at times am too quick to jump to the negative. lets hope that we can buy well as the majority of our team now are loan signings.
Boris 62 Posted February 17, 2008 We was extremly lucky to win some of his last games now back to reality. Team is not ready to do big things and now lets concentrate to hold middtable because I will not be surprised to see us now on long bad run especialy with this missing players against Barnsley then away game etc.No doubt we must be so glad to have this pts after so poor start and realy bad play and all this expectations after some good results... hope not to hit morale just now.Come on yellows! It''s great we had our hopes briefly ignited, and we can still do better than eighteenth, but we seem to have lost all sense of realism. We had a bad day away from home. It happens. Arsenal had a bad day away from home yesterday. What we''ll learn about Roeder now is how he handles a 90 minute capitulation on his watch. Plymouth wasn''t really his fault and he''s got rid of the dead wood. Now we''ll see what his managerial skills are made of.
The Horse 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Couldn''t agree more Delias, we were aiming for survival when Glenn arrived and some people have to remember that.
