Saturday could determine our season

Recommended Posts

Win, and the league run continues and we have confidence to go on up the league.

Lose, or draw and play badly and we could well be in a relegation battle after all!

Saturday is crucial.

There will be changes Saturday, Dublin, Evans, Semmy coming in and maybe a couple of signings, and im sure Roeder will give them a kick up the backside, i wouldnt want to mess with him and dont be suprised to see a hard working, battling, fighting for ajob Norwich against Leicester rather than the calamotous pile of you know what weve had tonight.

I dont think, because of the way things have gone in the league that it will have too much of an affect, we were rubbish against Bury before and responded with a top performance against Barnsley. But, if Saturday does go belly up, then im sure Roeders selections for this evening will be heavily criticized. We had confidence, we had a run going, that could have been lost.

However, we do still have our 8 match unbeaten run in the league, and thats more important!

What the * are you talking about. NCFC were never going to win the cup  it is a distraction that is now out of the way.

Who cares if  NCFC lost to  Bury or Man Utd it does not matter.

Did Roeder select a team to do a specific job.

Exactly right HUDDY. Saturday could well determine if barnsley was just a blip or that things are on the up and we''re past the low points. Tonight was a very poor performance and we should disapointed but league comes first.

I hope you listened to GR''S interview on Radio norfolk Great Escape as you cannot fake the dissapointment you could hear in his voice. I don''t think he is a man who would send out a team to deliberately lose a game. What do you think?

Which I find rather unfair to the travelling support......but, should he have to resort to that?

What am i on about?

I didnt ever say we were going to win the cup did i?

I''m just stating that theres 2 ways we can go from this, 1) we can let it damage morale and affect us in the league or 2) we''ll come back stronger, put it behind us as a lesson learned.

I dont think Roeder selected a team to prove a point, he didnt set out to lose the game, so i could say wat the **** are you on about, but i wont!

I''m just saying that there is a chance, (considering that 7 of the starters are likely to start Saturday) that it could affect confidence, lose momentum and affect league form. however, i did say that i believe this wont be the case and that  roeder is strong enough to sort it out.

But if Saturday is a disaster!, it is likely to be partly down to this evening!

I don''t for one moment expect Roeder countenanced a defeat but he did test some things to destruction i.e.

Ryan Jarvis, Hucks the starter, Hucks and Croft together, Mickey Spillane (who it sounded rose to the challenge).

At the end of the day results like tonight''s happen in the Cup, that is just a fact of life.  We played a weakened side and should still have won comfortably: 14 goal attempts to 3, 7 of them on target and with 58% of the possession is not a side that was outplayed - perhaps they need to do even more shooting practice.  At the end of the day we had a crap draw and it didn''t seem as though we were going to make a lot of ££ out of any cup run, so perhaps it is no bad thing - with our small squad we don''t really want any more games than we have to.  Our league form is still good and with 5 changes in the starting XI tonight, was certainly not at stake.

Yes, Saturday''s game is important, but not really any more so than any other game - absolutely nothing will be won or lost on the result: of course if we win we keep/extend the gap on those beneath us, and if we lose we are closer to them, but there will still be nigh-on 20 games to go.
