Vern 0 Posted November 9, 2007 I may be miles off the mark here but Andrew and Sharon Turner sitting on our board with all that money in their bank whilst we are struggling to pay the electricity bill is like waving a flamed grilled whopper under Hartsons nose and then taking it away just as he is ready to bite. It is cruel!!!!. "We cant afford to buy a striker from Wroxham but the grey haired guy in the directors box eating prawn sandwiches and watching us getting thumped week in, week out is loaded""I am on the board at Norwich City". Well done......Hope your clients are impressed Andrew.
Inch High aka Inchy.. 420 Posted November 9, 2007 Shhhhhhhhhh Vern, we are not supposed to notice imoral details like that. It''s disgusting that so little money can buy so much at our club. Those prawn sandwiches should cost a lot more than that.Another £2million would probably buy a nice plot of land somewhere in the city.

InLambertWeTrust! 0 Posted November 9, 2007 What is the point of him being on our board? Investment is crucial.
still holding out for new heroes 0 Posted November 9, 2007 On the face of it it does seem as though they''ve managed to get on a board of the club at an exceedingly cheap rate, a 2 million loan is hardly a huge commitment, it would be interesting to know what their long term plan is...if it''s not to buy and clear debts / invest then we''re really no better off for having them...it crossed my mind as it obviously has yours that its more to do with business cache than with a desire to move the club forward. Cluck 0 Posted November 10, 2007 As I''ve said before...only a fool would put free money into this club while Smith and Jones have absolute control of club matters. Turner hasn''t become wealthy by making bad decisions and he probably harbours an even more depressing opinion as to the predicament of the club than we have as fans.If we go down...there will suddenly be a bargain to be had....and Smith and Co. will flee with what they can grab. I''d rather he waits for a knock down price...thus putting money on the pitch rather than in Smith''s ravenous handbag. Sometimes it''s a waiting game in business....and I reckon the Turners are doing just that....waiting for the moment.

Although they may be worth millions it is not money just sitting there in a bank account waiting to throw away to buy new players for Norwich City. After reading what people have been saying here about him I am sure they consider thery are all expert financial advisers to the Turners, but I expect the Turners in all their wisdom have other ideas in where to invest their money and rightly so.If I had money to spare, Norwich City Football Club would be one of the last places I would be investing it at the present time. T 191 Posted November 10, 2007 The money is in their business not in their bank account and will not be in their bank account until if and when they sell their business.
Bill In Sydney 0 Posted November 10, 2007 I think this post is not necessary. As long as the money has been made legally and taxes have been paid lets thank God this is England and not only is enterprise, hard work and imagination rewarded but at the end of the day one can decide how to spend those REWARDS.I don''t give a damn if the guy eats fish and chips or eats prawn sandwiches, if he sits in the Directors Box or sits in the Barclay. If he is a Norwich supporter he is one of us. If he gives 1% of his worth to the Club and that is 2 million pounds and you give 1% of yours and that may be 10 pounds you are equal.WE ALL SEE THE SAME MATCH, DRINK THE SAME BEER, SHARE THE SAME DISAPPOINTMENTS. ITS OUR CLUB ISNT IT?Let us also remember that the measure of wealth does not always mean liquidity. Be a silly man who had all his wealth in a Barclays current account. Never be "loaded" that way! FU MAN SHOE 0 Posted November 10, 2007 I agree Cluck...The Turners are no fools...and parting with their money whilst they do not have the level of control they desire over the future would be just daft....The bears are hiding in the woods waiting for the babes to venture a little closer before they pounce. lucky green trainers 0 Posted November 10, 2007 nicely flagged up vern ole fella.my feeling is that the 3 weeks dilly dallying over picking a new honcho, was more to do with boardroom politics involving the smiths and turners &/or other financial investors - regarding the financial future and ownership of NCFC. i''m hoping that secretly a deal has been done allowing delia to step aside for next season, allowing new money to be invested now to help us escape relegation this season, and then to finanace a realistic premiership push for next season. if this is not the case, and the readies are not there to help us stay up - then in my view, the 3 week delay that prompted our utter freefall into bottom place should only be viewed one way - fiddling while rome burns.
