YoungCanary 0 Posted August 25, 2007 I don''t understand it...at the start of the season i would of been quite happy with 4 points. Our away form has never been great and our home form has always saved us.played decent for parts of the 1st game..quality finishing in the 2nd and seemed to have good parts of the game against hull but this time no killing instinct. Grant''s made some decent signings for not too much money..probaly saving the rest of it for January to see what we need by then.I come on here and see people already saying Grant''s got it wrong...give it a chance!!! it''s so annoying to see everyone so negative especially only 3 games in..who else agrees that we should just get behind the boys!!!COME ON YOU YELLOWS!! InLambertWeTrust! 0 Posted August 26, 2007 I agree YoungCanary before the season started people were saying this is much stronger squad than previous years and now after 3 games the majority of posters that said that have changed their mind. That is simply ludicrous GIVE GRANT A CHANCE. People on here also rate the signings that Peter has made as rubbish and relagation/mid table material THEY IMPROVE THE SQUADMarshall- i think everybody agrees what a great keeper he is Gilks- played well in reserves on tuesday only back up thoughOtsemobor- a quick strong full back that beats people Murray- cant be sure YET havent seen him playRussell- puts himself about well and is a good passer of the footballFotheringham- unlucky that he is injured, improved us in second half against southamptonBrellier- looks a real find however he isnt fit Lappin- sturdy but doesnt beat people however with a left foot like that doesnt have to Chadwick- versataile winger with creativityCureton- well we all know about himBrown- hardworker however he has to start scoringStrihavka- if his performance in the reserves on tuesday is anything to go by then hes got potential (tell me if ive forgotten anybody) The players that have were nowhere near good enough (Earnshaw and Safri are the 2 exceptions) however Cureton could easily replace earnshaw and Russell the same with safri. People say give Granty 10 games I say until christmas.
can u sit down please 0 Posted August 26, 2007 it was always gonna get negative again mate. Its a disaster we have lost! Just wait till the 3 amigo''s get going!! tedious at best.
Graham Humphrey 13 Posted August 26, 2007 Also in our title-winning season we had 4 points after 3 games. Not that I''m suggesting we''ll win the league, but it''s early days yet.

Brown isnt good enough.. and Marshall is starting to look like an uncertain Flapper... listened to the commentary yesterday and they picked up on this too.. he didnt come out for the ball and when he did changed his mind and went back or flapped at it... He needs a decent performance and a clean sheet soon!jas :)
Pyro Pete 2,353 Posted August 26, 2007 We will have a better indication of where we''re heading after ten games. But confidence in the club is frail after two poor seasons.Sometimes I think it''s better to view this forum as a kind of therapists couch for us fans. A place to get things off your chest, and let it out. So don''t be surprised if initial reactions are a bit strong. Better this than kicking the cat.

Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,223 Posted August 26, 2007 Youn Canary - You could ask the same question about all the "positivity". There were people coming out with daft statements about the us reaching the play-offs after we drew 0-0 at PNE, which apparently is a difficult place to get a result (except if you are Morecambe or Colchester that is). The truth of course is that is far to early to be making statements about play of potential or relegation potential and I would suggest that after 10-15 games we will have a better idea which way we are headed. colneycanary 0 Posted August 26, 2007 "Played decent for parts of the first game". You obviously did not go to the first game because i did and we did not create one decent chance, so how you can say that i don''t know. Cureton saved us last week with two great finishes but the saints had a perfectly good goal not given. And then we have the hull game, which we were very poor and again did not create any chances. Anyone who went, all say we didn''t deserve to get anything out of the game apart from Peter Grant. Our midfield has been awful, lappin, croft are just not good enough. Poor old russell runs round trying his best but is getting no help. Two home league games now and we better hope for two wins because already we are in the bottom half. If you had gone and seen them for yourself then you might think the same because we really are not playing well.

Cheerio 0 Posted August 27, 2007 The performances have been largely inept - we''ve been second best in 3 games out of three. I''d say thats good reason to be concerned. If thats negative then I''m negative. The whole squad is on a down after Safri''s departure and Grants handling of the whole affair. Safri was well liked amongst the players and there is a definate rift developing. Huckerby, Drury, Martin and Brian Gunn have all had big off''s with Grant already. Clearly if we can tell how a season will pan out after so few games we may as well not waste out time with the other 43 remaining games, so yes, it is too early to tell how a season will pan out, therefore SOBs comments are not daft. Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,223 Posted August 27, 2007 Alex - I see where you are coming from (sort of), I am not suggesting that we do not discuss things I am just saying that it is daft to be making any sort of prediction now. I think somebody on here has already tried the "average out the points so far and multiply by 46" to get the points total we will end up with, Nutty Nigel pointed out that had you used that particular calculation for our firt three games last season you were looking at a predicted points total of 92 points, but of course we all know we got nowhere near that. Football doesn''t work like that as we all know. It''s just a funny thing with forums that people have countless arguments over the unpredictable!. I hope things pan out in our favour (and I think they will when Hux/Smith return).
