PhatCanary 0 Posted December 29, 2006 What would the point be in sacking the manager, he has not been given a chance to bring in players of his choice and shape the team to his way of playing, as i said in an earlier post this club needs a good kick up the bum but to sack Grant would be bloody daft, come February if we have the same dead wood players and have sold Earny then the board should be the first to leave, January is a huge month for Norwich City if Delia and co get it right we have a chance of a good 07-08 season, get it wrong and..... well we don''t want to think about that do we. BBFF 0 Posted December 29, 2006 He told us we are a disgrace but as fans go we are bigger than Grant''s sad little mind. He''s got the rest of the season to show he worthy (no pun intended) of being our manager, that is if NCPLC remembers it''s a FOOTBALL club. This January is the most importent month for us fans of FOOTBALL for years and years, it will define our clubs future maybe for the next ten years. New quality players to play with Earny and the one or two others fit to pull on the Yellow & Green and salvage this season then go for promtion next season OR Earny gets sold, Grant gets pennies for the same rubbish we already have, leading a relegation struggle and we dont know what, but can guess. I only hope NCPLC understand how us true fans feel at the moment..........pig sick of how our FOOTBALL club is being run. BB
Regime Change 0 Posted December 30, 2006 I agree Phatcanary.Grant has inherited a dire situation which until the January trasnfer window he has no opportunity to address.Hopefully in Jan Grant will be able to start to rebuild the squad by bringing in 3 or 4 new players. I f he can also bring in some next players next summer we might have a decent squad capable of challening for promotion next season.Sacking now Grant would make the club a laughing stock. As the Board decoded to wait until the season started before sacking Worthy, Grant has not had the benefit of pre-season to get to know the squad, and, he may only now be getting a good idea of who his best players are.Realistically our squad is so limited the team pretty much picks itself. PhatCanary 0 Posted December 30, 2006 Trouble is even with your beloved Safri playing we are still a poor team, hopefully we may see a better midfield performance today with Robinson out but we need more than one player to make the club a better team, and to be honest Safri is a bit hit and miss at times. komakino 282 Posted December 30, 2006 What would Norwich fans rather have? Someone who is straight talking, tells it how it is and doesn''t lie to the public like Grant or have someone who patronises, misleads and treats fans with contempt like Worthington? Not for the first time, some Norwich fans are their own worst enemy. If Grant [and it is quite a big if] is allowed to bring in enough players who he feels are right, then give him until the end of the season to see if there is an improvement. If there isn''t, then have a go, but until then, suggestions that he should be removed are pathetic and futile.
ronbol ronbol 0 Posted December 30, 2006 and in the mean time we will give what little money we have left to a manager with zero experience...............SACK GRANT NOW
Cluck 0 Posted December 30, 2006
and in the mean time we will give what little money we have left to a manager with zero experience...............SACK GRANT NOW
This is what worries me. I reckon this will be our last decent opportunity to spend a reasonable sum....so it has to be right. If it''s blown on more donkeys......I shudder to think what will happen long term.Grant is here for the duration thanks to his 3.5 year contract...so we have little choice but to trust him. Personally I''d rather he hold back if there was nothing special available right now.....and look for a full rebuild at the end of the season. We''re not going anywhere fast....so for me there is no need to panic Staying up in the short term has to be the priority right now.Worryingly tame from me I know........but hey....it''ll be a New Year soon.......[:)]

He has done his learning as assisant at a good level and it was time to move on. He has not had a chance to change this squad yet and there for is having to work within the constraints left by a Manager who had never built for the future. Worthington relied too heavily on loans and this has resulted in a small and limited squad. IF, by the start of next season there has been No improvement in either personel or performance then i will be the first to say I was wrong and you and other like minded people were right! But a new manager must be given time to get it right! (IMO)
