We need good quality loan signings, not panic buys

Recommended Posts

The way to get in three quality players is by premiership level loan signings for 3 months - then take from there. Just like Crouch, Huckerby and Harper in 2003-04. Promotion followed.

Worthless has spent every minute of his life since trying to emulate this, and has failed, miserably!

But we''re stuck with "Worthless" for the time being! So what do you recommend? Panic buys or good quality loan signings with character & commitment ( a la Crouch, Huckerby and Harper?)

What about the poor quality loan signings like Lisbie, JJ2, Wright, Rehman. Elvis Hammond....?

It''s a waste of money and 1-3 months later they are gone having invariably added little or nothing and you STILL have a small squad.

Bad idea. I''d rather they bought a player.

This football management lark seems so simple when you put it like that.  Sign 3 quality players on loan - I bet Nigel is kicking himself that he never thought it!

Seriously though - it is a good idea in principle but how many clubs are willing to let quality players go out on loan like that of Hux and Crouch?  We were lucky they were being mis-managed at the time or we would never have got them.  If there was a Hux available on loan there would no doubt be 20 teams looking to take them on loan.

no no no waste off money, we pay hugh wage bills to them then they go back to there clubs what do we get from it nothing. we had hux couch and harper, but the main reason we went up was we signed huckerby.

One of the biggest issues is that then loans were relatively rare - now everyone and his dog have several loans a season

Waste of time waste of money , count up the failed loans since Huckerby , Worthington got LUCKY once and people thought he was a manager , chances are he wont get lucky again . Sacked after 6 games if we are very very lucky.

I said if we are very very lucky , trouble is at the moment we are not lucky , a failed Blackpool manager in charge of the team and a ancient tv cook who knows diddly about football in charge of the club. I am hopeful though a good 80% of fans HATE this manager , that counts for a lot when things get nasty , and nasty its going to get.

While at the time of grabbing Hux and Crouch on loan i thought Worthy had done exceptionally well, he has since then wasted shed loads of money on useless loans who do not have any reason to play well for us.

Surely a major consideration here is that failed loan players cost a lot less than failed transfers.

I am sure that we would all be over the moon if Worthington got lucky again!!!!!!!!!

If he doesn''t, then at least the new manager will have some financial resources to work with.
