They don’t. They are incredibly spawny but with confidence and momentum. If they don’t get up this year they finish mid table at best next season

Come on, top after 39 games with 84 points? Impossible not to be there on merit.

Exactly, nothing done and dusted yet but if they go up top 2 they deserve it.

As we know from Lambert's second promotion and Farke's first,  momentum can play a huge part. I haven't actually seen the binners this season, couldn't watch the derby and would never choose to watch them under any other circumstances, but completely agree that their points tally speaks for itself at this stage. I'm afraid that some of the comments here have the strong whiff of what other parts of the internet would call copium.

From afar it seems their great strength is putting away the teams below them - as we did in Farke's second title. Do they still only have one win against a top-six team? Amazing if true given their points tally.

Binners can't believe their luck this weekend. Leicester, Southampton and Leeds all choking. So much for having the best squads.

Hull have just about muffed it up now, despite what some on here felt was a good January transfer window for them.

It was a fantastic game but I'm far from convinced by the Newcastle penalty. Apart from being offside, Gordon stuck his leg out sideways to initiate contact. He was making no attempt to play the ball.

Murphy had another solid game.

💯, still The kind of games that are worth watching. Committed players all over. Correct   Murphy again had a solid game. 👍
