New right back?

Too old - and if a direct swap for Aaron’s a MASSIVE step backwards for the club

We have the young, up and coming wing back already in the ranks shipped out on loan as he doesn't get enough game time. We don't need a second.

Tommy Smith would be the experienced option who could fit quickly into Wagner's system as he's played it before.

It seems every new manager is linked to a former player, usually by lazy journalists who want to create a story. I wouldn't be surprised if this is exactly that. If there is something in it, it seems a logical if unexciting move given the very real risk of us losing both Aarons and Byram.

That’s just totally wrong. But that’s no surprise.

It may be that Mumba is considered not good enough defensively and he's definitely not tall enough. People seem to forget there is a huge gulf in class between the Championship and League 1.

He's small, but Aarons isn't exactly Yao Ming.

Can only see this happening if Byram is moving on, or retiring.

Either is pretty likely - he’s a good player when fit, and injuries can happen to anyone, but he breaks down more than my old mini metro.

Max is 5ft 8 but Mumba I think is 5ft 5. Play him at full back in the top 2 divisions and we'd concede a record number of goals from back post headers.

That's a pretty simplistic way of looking at things.

Heard Mumba was dreadful and made a lot of mistakes against Ipswich before redeeming himself with the wonder goal.

He's clearly had a good season but sounds like he's still learning and having bad games/moments.

Personally think his future in the game isn't at right back but further up the pitch.

A direct swap? Why on earth would Max want to go to Middlesbrough?
