Iwans teeth

The biggest failing

Recommended Posts

we all knew smith was a turd before the world Cup . Yet that gift of four weeks was totally wasted someone needs to be held accountable for that . It was almost handed to us on a plate yet club said no thanks we'll flog this dead horse .

Alternatively it was his last chance. Which he blew.

Will definitely go down as one of Webber's biggest mistakes. Perhaps not the biggest though, it's a competitive field.

How do you know Webber hasn’t been working on replacing Smith during that time? He might have been tying up a new coach and waiting to get that done until he pulled the trigger on smith.

Yeh Smith is the worst we have had in awhile. Only comparable to nice guy Chris , but hey we could see what Chris was trying at least with Smith Christ knows what was going on!

He was always going to struggle following on from our beloved farke I guess league one beckons as his career will be in tatters.

Norwich will be seen as a strong squad and a site fire team so to fail with us is bad.

Ha unlucky boring Brummie you shall not be missed!

There are a lot of 'what ifs' - selling Buendia, not directly replacing him or Skipp, the 4-3-3 (Webber's influence?), sacking Farke, keeping Smith (in the summer and after the world cup), letting many players' contracts run down...

It's all in the past and not really worth dwelling on now. This is the crunch point. It's all about making a good appointment and finding a way to get the players performing again.

Well we only have his track record to go on, and based on that he has got no idea whatsoever right now who he wants next.

I am still (very faintly) hoping that Webber will be going as well and won't make the decision about our new coach - a new DoF who will start again from scratch is what we need right now.

Not replacing Buendia adequately (not that this is easy) put pay to both Farke and Smith.

We were always pretty awful even under DF when Buendia wasn't available - recruitment seems to have been very poor in general since Scott left.

Webber doesn't have a lot to work with, but there has been a distinct lack of leadership from the top given we were told the whole point of the DoF model is to ensure continuity between coaches and managers. I very much hope he comes out and talks to the press about what went wrong this time.

One of the most true things ever said on here.

While Farke didn't have anyone close to being able to fill the hole, Smith has had Nunez sitting on the bench most of the season. Hopefully whoever comes in will bring some of our creative players in from the cold.

That endearing smile disappearing from Núñez's face has been one of the most disappointing and emblematic features of this season for me. Look forward to him rolling in another panenka in the shoot-out against Blackburn and his season getting up and running again.
