Okay folks, it's time! Thanks again, @nutty nigel, for entrusting me with the final six on what is undoubtedly the best thread on this – or any – forum.

Thank you all for your suggestions; I gave them all due consideration, but decided in the end to avoid any of the 'big bankers' and push further along the risk-reward dichotomy. The odds are rough, and gleaned from various sources, but I'd estimate the total odds to be somewhere around 10/1. If the football gods are prepared to smile on us, that could be a handy ton-plus to add to the total.
